ORIGINAL: mapachito13 Hey Mike! I can't believe you omitted Michael Jackson's Thriller video. Pure Halloween especially with Vincent Price's narration. Probably because Thriller and all of Michael Jackson's music is Pop/R&B, not Classic Rock. I love the sound of the kick in the intro here. Never Been Any Reason - Head East http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zFrfHI-cN8 Now...that's an awesome song!!! LOVE IT! NDY

No Time To Lose: Tarney/Spencer Band--They used to play it all the time, and I still hear it every so often on the radio. 707: I Could Be Good For You. I always liked this one, too. Badfinger: No Matter What

Here's a change of pace: a fun song from The Cure--Friday I'm In Love Bauhaus--Ziggy Stardust. I may actually like this cover better than Bowie's original. The guitar rocks a lot more, at any rate. Duran Duran--Rio Human League--Don't You Want Me. I detested this song when it was popular, because I was a musical purist and this had no real instruments. Now I really like it--strange.

I lump all that stuff into the classic rock category, but I'm not sure that everyone would agree.

Okie dokie, however I tend to think of classic rock being those artists who were around in the late 60's up 'til the late 70'/early 80's instead.

Here's one with no argument that it's classic rock: Scorpions--Big City Nights quote:
Yeah, I have to agree. If Duran Duran is Classic Rock, then so is Taco and the Village People. C'mon. The big difference is that Duran Duran played their own instruments well. Check out the smokin' bass work on Rio. They did get bland a couple of years after that, though. Roxanne is one of my favorite songs along with Message in a Bottle

Hope this hasn't been posted already. Still making my way through the pages... Riff Raff--AC/DC For the longest time, I said that I would name my first son Malcolm. :)

That's just very, very wrong...and scary that you remember them! :) My repressed memory of them came to the surface. There is one other song "The Song That Shall Not Be Named," that my sister still tortures me with to this day. It has caused me Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. One hint--Minnie Ripperton screeched it. quote:
I have to post a warning for this one Don't you know that that song makes people go on killing sprees? Aldo Nova--FantasyLove the guitar solo on this one. Red Rider--Lunatic FringeCool slide guitar solo. I could post those in the great guitar solo thread, too.
