So, how is everyone doing:):
This week was a good week for me, FINALLY! It all started by volunteering to fast with this group. For my fast I didnt turn on the computer till after 6pm and also didnt turn on my Yahoo Messenger and limited the tv watching. WOW. Those are my distractions that wipe put my focus in all areas of life (not just cleaning)....

When the computer was off, I had to find something else to do, so I picked up after myself:) Its only been a week, but I hope to keep this habit. Also, I cleaned imagining that Im MOVING. I was able to get rid of a lot of junk that way.

So, how is everyone else doing! Im excited to hear from you.

I learned again this week about the 15 minute rule. I might try implementing that again.

I am told that if I just put in 15 minutes a day cleaning that eventually I would have a spotless house! The only thing is because of such things as work, etc. I tend to be too tired to want to clean anything. Then on the weekends I just want to relax instead!

Tritto!

Sometimes it takes me more than 15 minutes just to do the bare minimum -- dishes, laundry, ugh! I spend a lot of time at home right now working on papers and keeping the house spotless just seems to take second place. I make a plan to spend a few minutes every day, but do I stick to it?? We'll see... I start a new "plan" on Monday.

This is my situation. And many days, once the work is done, I don't have 15 minutes if I want to get sleep. I was behind a bit a couple of weeks ago...did a lot of extra work on the house because the "bug guy" was coming and he has a bad habit of spraying anything on the floor (toys, fabric, yarn, papers...anything) so I wanted as much up as possible. After he left, I took my son out as a reward for all his hard work cleaning his room...then I had to work late to make up the missed time...three nights in a row less than 3 hours of sleep...followed by worst migraine in 20 years--knocked me out for 2 days...so now I'm behind again...but I'm trying to NOT push too hard. But it's hard to keep up with the house. I have got the dining room MOSTLY clean...and I'm working hard to keep it clean. I got the livingroom looking better--by putting everything in a big box that is now sitting in the hallway.

Perhaps you need to change plans then. Maybe write 3 things down that you want to do the next day and do them instead of setting time aside. And perhaps do them before you do any work? You do need to consider what you do though so you're not spending hours doing cleaning and nothing else. I have to admit, I like when I can do laundry (even though the laundry isn't in my house) because I have a sense of having done something when it doesn't really require too much effort from me.

I did a lot of picking up of things today and sweeping up. Need to do lots of laundry over the next few days (though it'll probably go into next week) but I'm not too worried about that...

Have a sense of satisfaction over what I've done today.

Still struggling to get things cleaned and organized. Seems like its two steps forward, three steps back most of the time. I did have one positive thing happen in the cleaning zone...I finally motivated my son--I bought a pack of 5 transformers (his favorite toys) and told him that he could have one after we finished cleaning each of 5 different rooms--if he helped. We got home from the store, he looked at the 5 rooms, told me he'd clean his bathroom and by the time I finished unloading and putting away the groceries, he had the room mostly cleaned. He played with the toy for a day, then was ready to clean another room. We worked together and got the dining room cleaned.

Well, have to go. I'm going to try to get MY bathroom cleaned tonight.

Doesn't it just... I think the important thing is that we keep on trying and don't simply give up and do nothing.

Sounds as though you have a plan with your son ~ and you're doing something that we all need to remember to do ~ reward yourself after doing some cleaning. We all need to find something that we could enjoy as a treat.

I'm going to be tidying my bedroom later... am thinking about moving things around, but not sure yet...

Well, I've started... and now I'm having a break. I'd doing new charts to write in/tick off as I do things around the house. Lost the old ones when my last 'puter died (no back up ). Given the house is so small, I think I'm just going to have charts for upstairs and downstairs.

I've hung and folded all my clothes and paired up all my socks, apart from a few odd ones. I suspect the others will turn up as I continue to tidy. Munchie came upstairs just as I was finishing and spent 5 minutes giving me kisses ~ ya think she's proud of me?
