LOL, that is too funny Steph! I'm Stina, I've got two boys, one is almost 3 and the other is 16 months. My hubby is an exterminator, and I've been staying home since he got that job two years ago. Hey, I'm wondering what all you SAHM/Ws did for a living before you stayed at home. I was a security guard, and before that I was a marketing program manager for Dex yellow pages.

I have a dumb doctor story too... I have had a sore ear for the last couple of days. At first I thought it was a pimple inside (ever have one of those? they hurt!) Anyway, it got a lot worse today, and my ear was all swollen and throbbing, so I went to a clinic and before I went in, they wrote on my chart my medication allergies (three different antibiotics). So the doctor tells me I have an infection in my outer ear and prescribes drops. I get to the pharmacy to pick them up, and the pharmacist says "we have on your file that you're allergic to these, do you still want them?" And I said yeah, I want something. He said where they are topical, and not an oral pill, that it might not cause a reaction, but also said "do you have benedryl at home?" Yeesh. Anyway, I put the drops in, and not a half hour later my tongue nose and ears were itchy. Then my feet, then my hands, and started creepign up my arms. Luckily, I still have the allergy medication from last time I reacted to that type of medication, so I took some of that. I am waiting up now to make sure it doesn't get any worse. And the worst part is, I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow to get something else. Ugh.

ORIGINAL: dradynsmom Hey I'm steph, Peculiar_lady2 suggested that I come over here and say Hi. So here I am. I am a mother of two (one of whom is in heaven with Jesus) I cloth diaper, breastfeed (well use to, my last pregnancy dried up my milk) and stay at home with my wonderful 19mo. old son. I hope to find encouragement for this never ending job that we call mommy and where the paychecks come in the form of kisses, hugs, weeds, and slimy frogs! Steph HI Steph!!! Glad you took me up on the invitation to join us in here!!! I am known as Sarah around these parts (though I don't have it in my siggy line...it was too long to have all I wanted in there so I had to cut that out). Current BFer (as my siggy indicates... ), homeschooling mom to five wonderful blessings fro God...Jake (9yo), Hannah (7yo), Emma (3yo), Jackson (2yo) and Justice (2mo). Also an Army wife stationed in OK away from all family and friends ...so some days I vent about that. Yolanda...... quote:

hi i am finally on my mums computer. what a time. i left the hospital as hubby was quite forceful and determined to see a doc that night even though the nurse said we should come back in the morning, he didnt listen and waited. he got home at 1am. the doctor said it is all behavioural, that Nath should be able to bring the wind up on his own and not wake all night. They have said we need to go to a health nurse and get a referral to a sleep clinic place, but they don't see your baby once they are one, and nath is one in 2 weeks,. there is also a long waiting list. I tried to get more info from hubby of what he told them and what they said but he is not speaking to me, he told me he has said all i need to hear and i shouln'dt be so critical but listen to what they have said. I really am lost at what to do. I called the nurses line and she said that sometimes with reflux babies they do get into a bad habit once their symptoms have settled so I should see the clinic and if not try see a nurse for the day back at home and get help. I cried the whole time. I don't think I have stopped crying. between nath, and my husband its taking its toll on me. I am not strong enough for this. I don't get why they won't believe me or look into it more. I am staying atleast one more night here with mum, i may stay a few days, i don't know. sorry for taking over this thread, i appreciate your prayers because i am not in the mood to pray at the moment, I feel let down. Please don't post telling me to get over it etc etc. I know most of your wouldn't. Sorry i am rambling, have had little sleep again. thank you for your prayers, if i can't get on i will keep Nicole (can) updated.

Crystal, I hate that kind of work. My first and second job I was an accounting assistant. Motherhood is much easier because it has more benefits. I think you'll find that too when you're little one comes along. I can tell you were a writer...I just love the way you write, and you're only writing posts to me! LOL. Security work was pretty cool, you end up training a lot of strange people though. There are 4 types of security guards....guards who are "a little off" and take their job WAY too seriously, guards who are old and white and male and are a VFW, lesbian guards, and then there is "other". I was "other". Sandy started calling me Stina the other day. She asked me if she could call me that, and the only other person who called me that was two and couldn't pronounce my name. So, I like it. It's the ONLY shortened version of my name I like.

Hi, and welcome, Steph! I'm Jeanie - the mother of one son, Adam. He is going to be 6 months old in 9 days. (Really, ladies, can you believe that?) Christina, I think you were the one asking about our careers before our SAHW/M career: I was a project manager and a business manager. My PM jobs were really cool - one at a network services place with my biggest client in Texas (made for some nice trips down there). Lots of keeping track of who is where and what else needs to be done. The other PM job I had I didn't travel for but loved our clients (huge international clients) so it was always interesting. I was not the one dealing directly with the clients there. My BM job (yeah, nice initials - BM) was probably my all-time best-suited-to-me job. I loved that job and would still be there handling HR, accounts payable/receivable, billing, traveling, my boss's right hand (I loved her but she was a terrible boss in many regards)....anyhow, I loved that job but we were trying to conceive for several years at that point and I needed to make a change or we were never going to succeed. I was working 6 days a week usually, with at least 10 hours of overtime (I was salaried so no money for that). My DH was concerned. I quit after DH and I got back from a trip to Paris that his job sent him on (and I went with on vacation). I had spent a week alone in Paris while he attended this conference in northern France. Walking around Paris (which is so lovely, by the way) I just knew something had to give if we were going to have even a remote chance of conception. I quit, but it still took 1.5 years MORE before our little boy was conceived (which I thought would never happen -- a true miracle since I am 42 and have angry ovaries). Anyhow, here we are with an almost-6-month-old little sweetheart. He is an amazing and happy little boy and we love him to pieces. My DH makes my heart just soar daily, I just adore him. Oops. Got offtrack on the lovey-dovey stuff. You all know me -- I heart my boys! There you go -- my business past. I was the business lady in the heels and business wear with the briefcase. So very different than these days where a daily shower for me just doesn't seem that important given all that is going on. (Good thing I'm not smelly!) NICOLE/AUS::::::::::I AM PRAYING FOR YOUR SITUATION. Jeanie

ORIGINAL: Mrs.X Thanks Claire! Are you the same Claire on my FB who also commented on my blog? I was just thinking about going and adding some more songs to my blog. I got to listen to some of the Grand Ol' Opry gospel album. I'm hoping playlist.com will have some of it. Yep, that's me! quote:
ORIGINAL: spitzu I'm much nicer and much more harsh all rolled into one (yeah, as if that makes sense to anyone else but me lol). That *totally* makes sense, Crystal. It's something I'm making a definite effort to be in my worklife - I want to be as kind and helpful and loving as I can be... but I'm also being much less of a doormat. Before now I've been the girl who everyone dumps on at times, and while I'm totally happy to work my socks off, the next person who comes to me expecting me to do their job so they can take credit....may get a shock. I love to help out, and have a bunch of colleagues I'm so happy to support, but a few 'users' really soured my worklife last academic year. Those people will be the ones noticing the change... Welcome, draydynsmom! Frogs....urgh! My class are forever finding em, and I can just about deal with it. Thank heavens for little boys and tomboys, right? Yo, my gosh! Nicole Aus, am praying and praying sweetie. Woo! It's Sunday! (Because my school does a six day week, Sundays are by far my favourite day...) Now to try and get this house right ways up - it looks like a giant child picked it up and shook it!

ORIGINAL: daughter_of_faith Hey ladies...just a quick question since there are several of us on tight grocery budgets from the sounds of it. Is there a thread somewhere geared towards this? Setting up a good grocery budget, planning meals, that kind of stuff? I know we talk about it in this thread some and also in the working mom/wives thread. Let's face it...we all want to feed our families, right? I guess I was just curious if there were ideas about this or of that nature somewhere. This is one wife/mom that would gladly borrow from others (and share if/when I found something). quote:
ORIGINAL: Georgia-Peach That is a great idea about starting a thread to discuss ideas and tips. I am always looking for ways to save a buck at the grocery store. quote:
ORIGINAL: Mrs.X DaughterofFaith, great idea. Why don't you make a thread in Home & Garden? I'lll subscribe. Done. Come check out the Tasty, Thrifty Tips for Store Savings thread for those who are also interested.

Steph - Welcome! My name is Janine. I am mother to a six month old boy! (Well, he'll be six months in five days, but I've already considered him in the six month range. :) ) His name is Jadon. He's what I call my miracle baby! :) Christina - I worked at colleges/Universities as a personal assistant, but my last job was in the financial Aid office. Nicole/Aussie: Hun, I suggest you stay at your moms for a longer stint. Is she helpful with you and the kids? Crystal - I absolutely LOVE Molly's page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~~~ I don't have long, but wanted to update right quick. I'm tired, but living! :) :) My house is a MESS so today will be a cleaning day. I found out that the lady who offered to loan me her co-sleeper actually needs it so can't. I'm really bummed about that. It would have been so nice to have one - safer and easier. However, I found out GREAT WONDERFUL news that a local lady in town (Jason works with her hubby and I know the other part of her family) is a starting professional photographer!!!!!!!!!! She is going to take Jadon's naked baby photos for dirt cheap! She will then give me ALL of the pictures on a disk for me to develop as I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She asked if she could use some of the photos she takes for her portfolio. So, she'll be helping me and I'll be helping her. I am SO EXCITED!!! She Loves taking pictures and Loves taking naked baby photos - thinks they are very classy. Thank You, Lord!

Nicole emailed me and asked that I please ask you ladies to pray. Right now she is at her mum's house. I won't say more until I talk to her again and see what I can and cannot post here.

Am praying for Nicole. That poor girl - such a tough time. And Sideways (forgive me, I'm not sure of your real name?) that comic was funny!
