Hi all

Hope everyone has a good day today.

I wish that I could get organized and stay that way. I think I make it way more complicated then it should be. That is why I don't stick to it.

Good morning everyone! BBQ day today! We have beautiful weather for it so we are very excited.

Hope everyone has a good day.

P.S. The hurricane did hit Jamaica, and hit where Dh grew up. If you could just say a quick prayer for people there, and for any of Dh's family that they are safe as well as their homes. It's hard to get in touch with people to begin with so we may not hear how people fared for a while.

my mom said last night that they are calling for a "recommended evacuation" right now...she can't leave (because she works at a home health care agency) unless it's "mandatory evacuation"....but if that happens she will go to a friends house a few hours inland then if it looks like it will be more then a day or two she will come up here. When Rita hit there she was gone for 2-3 weeks...they weren't even letting anyone back into her town for over a week, and no electricity/water/sewage for several weeks more. (It was a good six months before Wal-Mart even fully opened back up, and that's just about the only store there) . Anyway, I am rambling......and I need to get off....just wanted to say that as of now she is supposedly on the "dry said" of most of the hurricane predictions.

Hey ladies, just wondering if I can ask for prayer.

A close friend of mine just called this morning (I know she reads the BF and Baby Chat threads here, I don't think she posts here though) and found out her brother was in a bad car accident last night. They had to take his hand. She is on her way to the hospital (about 3 hours away) right now.
I told her I would ask for prayer. So if you think of her and her family today, we would appreciate it.

Praying also for those on the Gulf coast.

(((((Nicole))))) Can you take some bismol for yourself? It doesn't make you better, but it will relieve your symptoms for the night so at least you can get more sleep

Linaire, I hope you have fun at the parties!

Lexie, is this the big BBQ you've been planning for your extended family? I hope you have fun.

Sarah, I hope everything works out OK for your parents.

Praying, Yolanda!

I got to see my dad last night! His GF stayed at the hotel because she had worked the previous two days and was beat. But, I get to meet her today. She's a Turkish Muslim, so I'm hoping all my Jesus stuff that I decorate with doesn't make her feel weird. They still haven't figured out what time their flight is leaving Sunday, so maybe they will go to church with us. I hope! I also hope Robert doesn't make a joke about how the Muslim Turks slaughtered thousands of Christian Armenians. He was thinking of it, I just hope he doesn't say it.

Lexie, I hope you have better weather than we're having here!! It's dreary here.

Still waiting to hear back from the house mover guy whether he's coming on tuesday for sure.

Is monday a holiday in the States?

I'm curious Ryanne's reaction to McCain's press conference yesterday too.

NicoleAU, still thinking about you... ***hugs*** Praying you are getting peaceful rest right now.

Yep, it's Labor Day, Yolanda.

I'm curious about Ryanne's reaction too. I will say one thing, boy that govenor of Alaska sure is beautiful. Robert was saying she used to be a beauty queen or something. Well, either way, history will be made. We're either getting a black president or a female VP, which I think is the first time for both, and that's pretty cool.

Yes, the Republican VP is a former beauty queen.

I'm so sorry about your friend, Yolanda.

Lord, I ask that you be with Yolanda's friend and family. Bring discernment to those who are in the path of this hurricane. In Jesus Name, Amen.

~~~
I wanna know Ryanne's reaction too! lol
Crystal - I know a lady in our small group that makes jewelry. She's been considering opening a store at etsy. I thought I'd get your thoughts on it since you mentioned. She's nervous and isn't sure if it's a good location, etc.
So ladies, for those of you who read Maggie's (3cappiciniosmom) blog, I just baked the muffin recipe she posted recently, and it is tasty! I've made the mistake before of loosing my printouts of her previous recipes, but this one is saved on my computer.
Yolanda, I'll pray.
Jae, it's a really good place, but if she decides to do it she needs to be aware that it takes a lot of work. It's not as easy as just setting it up and that's that. It requires a ton of time - great product photography, advertising, etc. It's also unfortunate that the jewelry category is one of the most saturated, so jewelry artists have to work even harder to make unique product and get exposure. If she's interested, I'd urge her to check it out and read around the forums on there for a while to get familiar with the feel of it. (Tell her to be prepared though, because some people that post on the forums are a little scary, lol but there's a wealth of information there.)
Hey, ya'll! Just got back from a mini-road trip. I got to meet Erin. She's awesome!! Just as sweet as always!
Then we went to my cousin's house and spent the night, we had such a great time, I don't get to spend much time with her now that we're grown-ups, so we had fun staying up late and talking, then getting up early and having coffee and talking some more! Then we had a b-day party this morning down south as well, so we're just now back home. We had a great time! Now I need to get my house cleaned up before my parents come over, lol . . . . .
I'm going to be singing a duet with Emma (DD#1, she's 7) in church at the end of September. Any recommendations on a good song to sing? I don't want a "kid song", but something that's appropriate for a kid to sing, kwim?
Hmm Tammy no idea really on songs... That's cool though!!
Rachel- jealous, jealous, jealous
Yo- praying for your friends brother!!
Claire- LOL when you said "wee" my grandparents say that alot, that brought a smile to my face today.
Lexie- praying, I saw Jamaica was hit and I was thinking of your extended family over there and was praying already
Thanks for the prayers and thoughts everyone. Hubby let me sleep last night til 1am, so I got a good solid 3 hour sleep in! YAY!! Nath was awake for 2 hours after that, so the sleep I had helped me through. His temp has gone down a bit this morning which is good, now Gracie seems a little worse. I have a thumping headache!!
So is anyone in danger of that hurricane hitting?
I think at the current moment, Sarah's (Peculiar Lady) family and Crystal (Spitzu) are in the path of the storm. Sarah herself isn't in danger, but her family may come to stay with her if the storm is as bad as it looks.
Currently it does not look to hit New Orleans directly, but it's close enough and it's big and nasty. Plus there are plenty of folks who live in between New Orleans and Houston. My husband's aunt and uncle live to the east of New Orleans, so they should be spared the worst of it.
I'm glad you were able to sleep a little Nicole, and I pray Nath continues to improve.
ETA: And of course, there's Tropical Storm Hanna swirling away out there... boy there are more than a few jokes we could make on that one, except that hurricanes are no joke.
We're not in the storm's path anymore... we're further down the coast, so I think we're in the clear for now.
Speaking of the coast, we just got back from the beach.
I think Sarah said her mom is in the path of the hurricane.
(Whoops, I got beat to that one).
Crystal---that's good news that you are no longer in the hurricane's path.
And Yolanda, yes, Monday is a holiday here in the US. It's Labor Day. WooHoo!! That means a 3 day weekend here
as of a few hours ago (when I last checked) they will get the storm, but it will be the "dry" side...so not the side that produces the horrible flooding...they are in it's path though. If it turns a bit more west then the prediction right now then it could easily hit head on where I grew up....so lots of family and friends there. I know some still living in FEMA trailers from Hurricane Rita hitting there head on a few years ago.
HERE is the NOAA page for the predicted path of this one....my family are on the Gulf coast where TX and LA meet....in the left part of the white cone.
LOL...yeah my mom and I were joking about that name the other day...but you're right, hurricanes are no joking matter.
I added you in facebook, Nicole!
And, yes, that's one of them! I also got two ADORABLE shots with him. We're both smiling big. I think he got my SMILE! I'm stoked for that because he looks so much like his daddy... and I've always loved my smile... even if it is a BIG smile.
