{{nicole}} Ugh. I think you were right not to make a big fuss then, but also right to check from now on! I think it's a bit rude to invite people over (or go to other's houses) when you're sick. We had to cancel a long awaited visit from friends this week because we were all sick, but I just can't imagine having them come over while everyone is hacking and dripping snot all over the place.

I don't know why, but yesterday I got so much done, and felt like I'd done *nothing*. Wierd. And then I was up half the night because Biruk was miserable, and in between that having the strangest, emotionally exhausting dreams. The one I remember I somehow ended up being responsible for the martyrdom of James Dobson. Mode of death was being squashed by some sort of elephant/octopus mix. They were purple.

Cool Sandy! You can poor it right back into the mortgage and lower your principal! Or whatever you care to do with it.

Maggie - I laughed out loud at your dream! Are you guys all better now? Sorry about missing out on time with friends!

Chelle - My mom ALWAYS prayed before going, and all us kids knew it. Then at the dinner table she would tell my dad all about her deals. I remember dad so often saying it was like God went ahead of her and marked down produce, meat, dairy and bread! She always found the "managers specials" when she went.

Crystal - I think I will put the bags on my blog. So between my blog audience and church friends is where I think I'll start. I'd love to find a lot of people to sell them to to help those ladies out - I think I have 8 bags right now maybe, and can get more sent to me if these sell. What an awesome ministry, eh? (Helping street girls find reputable ways to earn money, for anyone who missed it earlier!)

I was so sick last night. I went to bed at 8pm! I woke up at 11:30 when Paul came to bed with Wesley, and was up for three hours, but then slept till 8am. I am feeling pretty good.

I need to take my sister to the airport today.
I'm looking forward to getting back on a normal routine. I think I'm going to make going to the Y a daily thing. They have a nursery for the boys, so it would be perfect if I went first thing in the morning. I was there once this week and ran for a half hour straight. It felt so good. They have individual tvs on all their equipment, so it helped that I got to watch what I wanted to... and then wanted to hang around for the end of the show!

Judah is behind me on my chair "doing my hair" - it's cute! He has started doing "head rubs" and actually playing with my hair is a new thing. Boys are so fun. He lasts all of 15 seconds doing it

that's probably what I'll do. Unless Justin wants me to save it. I dunno. The more we get done no princi and interest before he gets home, the better off we'll be when we lose his combat pay.
BUT, Justin also really wants a tenor. So I might put it aside to save for that

That's cool. Our community centre doesn't have a nursery, but now that Dh is back to his regular job I think I'll start going to swim on the days that he doesn't have to go in. I would like to join a place that has a nursery, but I can't justify spending the money on it, especially when our community centre is free.

Yep, Chelle, I try to pray before grocery shopping too!! I always wondered if I was the only person who does that. I also pray before going to garage sales sometimes.
The times I remember to pray before grocery shopping, I usually get some really great deals!

I hate paying for it, but whether I did or not, Paul would go there and it's only I think $10 more for a family membership, so I tell myself that it only costs $10/month for me to go

I would pay $10 a month! But we don't have a Y near us and the big name gyms are more expensive than that (no matter what they advertise!)

Congratulations Auntie Jeanie!

Maggie, I had to laugh at your dream too. I like getting weird dreams sometimes.

Yay for money, Sandy!

My dad and his GF's flight just came in. They're going to rent a car and find a hotel by the airport. I'm kinda bummed they're staying by the airport and not here in my town. It's a long drive. Oh, well I'm just happy I get to see him and meet his new GF. Timmy will be really excited to see him too.

Yay for more money Sandy.

Gebre's still hacking little but otherwise we're all good. One of the things we did yesterday was meet with other homeschooling moms at the mall play area. That was exhausting. We met at 2.30 pm and it was just overrun with kids, and so wild and noisy. Two of the toddlers in our group escaped, too, and one got halfway up the elevator before his mom caught him!

Today we're not doing much at all. Can't do much. Biruk is a miserable, needy, clingy, screaming mess and I don't know what to do with him.

We're about 4 hours from the Gulf and predictions put us on the east side, so we may have a rocky few days. There will be lots of rain and troubles from the heavy winds and spin off tornados. By the time it gets to us, it will probably just be a tropical storm. That was how it was with Katrina.

I've had a busy week and today has been so nice. The rink is back open, so I skated this morning. Then I had lunch at a Mexican restaurant (my favorite.) I bought produce at the grocery store, including a Galinas Melon to try. It smells heavenly!! After that, I got a pedicure. I'm good to go, now!!

Nathan's nap is going late again. He fell asleep on the trip home from my prenatal checkup, so he didn't want to nap and might not want to go to bed at 8pm, but it's Friday; it's a long weekend, so no worries. The house looks pretty decent, and I'm not entirely sure what do with both of us once he wakes up. We'll think of something.

Oi, I love my dad, but he's a firebrand, and very emotional. My folks are pretty strong Republicans, and they called me excitedly a bit ago to ask if I'd heard about the Repub VP pick. They wanted to know what I thought. Well, I don't know a ton about her, but she's seems very interesting, and I'm looking forward to learning more about her.

I got two sentences into answering their question about the VP pick when my dad starts screaming about Obama again. I stopped the conversation right there. I don't mind talking, but my dad is stressful to talk to about politics, and I don't need it. My mom can keep her cool, and we can have nice chats. But my dad ... we just can't talk about that stuff. He gets all heated and emotional, and he gets his feelings hurt.

My dad is a magnificent father, husband - a good leader of his family and a good provider, but there's a lot about him that really runs contrary to typical gender stereotypes.

That sounds horrible, Ruth. My father is somewhat like that, too. He has what he believes and won't listen to anyone else's opinion. He acts like anyone who disagrees with him (even very slightly) is just plain stupid. I've learned to be very vague when speaking to him, especially about something that usually evokes passion, like politics. That keeps from fueling his chaos!!

We're on the Texas coast, on the gulf... and one model shows it coming in around here, but I don't know the chances of that. Ugh, I hate hurricanes. We'll evacuate if it comes even close, but still. Yuck. I hate evacuating.

Maggie - I'm sorry but that dream seriously made me laugh. LOL!!!

I've never prayed before going to the grocery store (ok, well maybe that I wouldn't have a panic attack).

I got the sweetest message from one of my Etsy customers today that absolutely made my day. It has been a pretty decent week for our business between our site and our two Etsy stores and her little note to me, complimenting me on my work, was the perfect end. Stuff like really makes the trying times worth it.

My dad joined a gym this year and it's so cheap, like $10/month or something. He goes a lot... definitely gets his money's worth. They don't have a pool though. I think he uses the elliptical machines or something.

That's great news, Sandy. I love it when we get refund checks for things. I got a little bit of one when we bought my car recently. It was, like, $60, but still.. $60 is $60! lol

Ruth - my dad used to be like your dad I think. He still gets very fired up and emotional about politics, and if you're not used to him, it can be a stressful conversation. lol But he's not a staunch republican so much anymore. Well, I guess he still is sort of, but is very unhappy with the system as a whole lately. We've been able to have many good discussions about politics this year, and I think I surprised him a little about my position and personal convictions on the matter, which I found to be a lot of fun.

Yay Sandy for money!!
Maggie- hope your day is better.

Nath slept terrible last night the poor thing. If it wasn't his cough or stuffy nose waking him it was his wind. I was literally awake every.single.hour. I am sooooooo tired. All I kept thinking each time I got up is "grrr I am so mad at my friend".

I have to cook a meal for a woman who has broken her leg and has a 3 week old baby today, other than that I am not doing anything but trying to nap!

That is sweet of you Nicole to make a meal for her!

Sarah - Sorry things are not going so smoothly with getting ready for the pictures. That is frustrating about the haircuts too...ughh!

My whole house is clean, the whole house! Laundry is a different story, but it is getting there. My family won't be arriving until around 11 tonight so I have time to relax, though Hunter is full of energy. We went tonight and bought the extra car seat for hubby's car. We got a Cosco car seat that has the 5 point harness, but when he is old enough it has the place for the shoulder strap to go so it will grow with him.

I was tempted to tell her I couldn't make the meal, but atleast I can walk around and hold nath if he needs me, she can't and her partner is working all week, also good way to witness to her and her partner (they used to come to church but don't anymore).

I am soo sooo tired. I just tired to have a nap with Nath, he just kept coughing the whole hour we were napping. My poor baby.

chelle- have a great time with your family!!

So for people right on the coast we've got Crystal and Sarah's family, and anyone else I missed.

Nicole, I'm so sorry to hear about your night. I hope you are able to nap, but very sweet of you to make dinner. I'll be praying for you and Nath.

Chelle, Nathan had a hard time getting to sleep, too, but his nap went late today. He actually fell asleep in my arms, and that hasn't happened in a long, long time. It was sweet, but I wouldn't want tonight for every night. Enjoy your family.

NicAus, of course I'll pray for you sweetie!

Happy weekend ladies! I'm looking around my messy wee flat and feeling very jealous of all you organised ladies who've tidied so well.

I'm off to a baptism later , and then singing at the afterparty, and then a party for a friend's wedding anniversary. And *then* I have to do a heap of tidying!
