Chelle, I wish Lorne was staying home so we could all do something fun together. I am still secretly hoping my brother cancels.

Yolanda, I haven't seen the commercial, but we threw away all our maple leaf stuff. I had no clue that it may take up to 70 days to find out if you are infected. The only maple leaf meat we buy is hot dogs.

Me too, I have two gigantic packages of hotdogs from costco, and they are maple leaf. I was saving them for a big BBQ, but now I'm going to throw them out. OR, take them back to Costco. We already ate one package
Though, I wouldn't worry about hot dogs as much, because you cook them (and I cook mine WELL) so that should kill the Listeria, with sandwich meat, most people don't heat it up, so the bacteria doesn't die.

We just brought home one of those little red and yellow cars for Chase (somebody was giving it away) and man, is he excited! He's driving all over the place, one hand on the wheel, and one arm resting on the door....too funny!

ROFL! Isaac is watching "Bee Movie" and he all the sudden said "I'm going to kill that bug" and went and got the fly swatter. I said "What is it?" (meaning what was he trying to kill). He held up the swatter and said "It's a bug spank."

I think the commercial was well done. I'm sure they feel horrible about what happened. I think the only Maple Leaf stuff we have right now is bacon which we cook anyway.

Rachel - that is too funny!

Crystal - great scrapbook page!!! The only change I would consider would be having just one photo of you two (the middle one), just cause it's the front cover. But it also looks great as is!

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Yolanda, those are great suggestions. We don't have many photos. None of vacation or hobbies or anything. Is that crazy or what? We didn't really start taking many photos until I started my business and had to invest in a really good camera. So I'm not sure what to do about that. We don't have any holiday ones I don't think. Panic mode!!

(((Sandy))) hope she feels better soon.

Thanks Jessica, I'll check out that page. I think it's supposed to be whatever we want it to be. Since we're very goofy, I plan to inject some humor into it, which I read is a good thing to do. I'm not sure how yet. I might include the song I wrote last year, though I wrote it during a very dark time and I don't want it to be too sad. So, I don't know about that, what do you think? The regional director read it and said it would be a good idea, but then I read that a profile that sounds too sad and/or desperate can be a turn off so I definitely don't want to come off that way (which is not how I'm feeling now anyway).

Jeanie, you sick sick person, you!

Tammy, I had just the one photo on there, but it seemed off balance. Of course, that could have been me that was off balance since I was up way too freaking late!

Thanks to everyone else who commented. I read each post, and I know I didn't address you each specifically, but I appreciate it all.

Chelle, he was slapping Hunter's hands? Aww. How did Hunter take that? Why wasn't his mother around?

Ok, back to work now. Have a good afternoon everyone!

Hey Lexie (and Chelsea and Nicole) have you seen the commercial with the guy from Maple Leaf? What do you think of that commercial?
This is a sad situation all around... (link for those who don't know what I"m talking about)

Ok, so here was my first thought - wow I'm really impressed that this guy did this...that's so wonderful that he cares.

Ok so here was my second thought - wait I went to school for exactly this, that would have been one of my ideas to do damage control.

And honestly....I ate at Mr. Sub and then literally came home, went online and saw that meat from Mr. Sub has been recalled. That's what's scary, because I can't control that.

Btw...any packaging that has "97b" on it should be thrown out, other stuff is ok.

Wow, you guys did chat alot!

Nicole- glad the men were found safe. You know what happened yet?

Christina- how is the job hunting going?

Jessica- how is Paul since the hospital episode? Good to have you back

Crystal- I love your front page, it looks great!

Sandy- praying for you and Sissy.

Yolanda- plans for your house look great, and you were a chatty little thing this morning huh? I am waiting for another drawing of our kitchen as I asked for a double pantry instead of single so once that is done they will get to work. I think from when we say "yes" it takes 12 weeks to get it all together and then a few days to put in. BTW does anyone call you "Yooooooo Gabba Gabba!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"????

Thanks everyone for the hugs and encouragement (thanks Rach for the verse you shared too). We argued a bit last night and I shared how he is making me feel, he tried to blame me again for it all and then later in bed apologised and said he would try better. This is the cycle that goes on and on. Hopefully he will get it soon.

Oh bless Grace's heart, she noticed its dusty near the tv so is dusting it for me. I love her.

Oh Zippy, I will let you know the results when I know :)

OH gosh...

Nicole, Nope we don't know what happened yet. They haven't heard from either of the guys yet. Grace is just the cutest! What a sweet girl you have!

Yep, he was slapping Hunter's hands. Hunter took it well and just looked at the kid like "dude what is your problem, chill out". His mother was busy having social hour with other mothers...but, I will stop there

Oh, I've seen that a lot of times at Nathan's toddler gym. Don't see it really at the class for 1 year olds, but at the free play times when you've got big 'old 4 and 5 year olds running around like they own the joint ... the moms are just off chatting.

I've stepped in several times when they were doing something dangerous (directly relating to Nathan's safety) or when they were trying to tell Nathan he couldn't do something because it interfered with their game. Told them the gym was for everyone and they could just deal with it.

In the fall they're going to put in a baby free play, for kids 2 and under. That will help a lot, I just hope it's not during Nathan's naptime.

Now, I do talk with people there, but only when it doesn't conflict with proper supervision of Nathan.

Anybody in your family have photos they could email to you?

OrrRR.... You could take one day, go do a bunch of stuff and take pictures, but bring a whole bunch of changes of clothes, just make sure you change your clothes for each photo!!

And, I thought of another thing, you could include photos of yourself when you were young...just a couple, would be a nice touch.

And I agree with Tammy about just the one photo on the cover. I wonder if you could use some sort of symbol in place of the second photo to balance it. Like a big script-y version of your last initial or something like that?

Yeah, chatty...I was bored, I was up 2 or 3 hours earlier than usual
Wow, 12 weeks, that's a long wait!!
Nope, nobody calls me that! I get "hon" (hubby calls me that) and "Yo" and "Yo-Yo" and I have a nickname from my childhood that I don't like to tell people, because as soon as I tell, people start calling me that, and it's not my name. OH, I also get "uh huh, yeah yeah, ooooiee Yolanda...." (that's the first line of a song)

GUESS WHAT I did tonight??? I drove the fire truck!! It's an older truck, but it's our tanker, a 3 ton truck! I pulled it out of the hall, drove a couple miles down the road to our pump house and then turned around, parked etc. Then when we were done pumping water, I drove it back to the hall and I was like "I'm not backing it in" But I did it!!
I feel very accomplished.
The truck is something like this one

Oh, and here's a picture of the actual truck. It's not a very good picture, but you get the idea.

And now...gotta get to bed. Still have to clean the other half of my blueberries tomorrow!

Yo Gabba Gabba-that's what I'm calling you today 12 weeks is kind of long but they are really busy as there is a big building boom around here at the moment.

I was just listening to the radio as I drove home from the shops, it was so good. Michael Youseff was talking about your peace and how envy and jealousy and anxiety can take it from you. I kept driving for 15 mins around the block so I could hear it all
HERE is a link to listen to it.

I am glad Hunter took it well like that. I don't have kids and cannot stand it when a bunch of women who are strangers to me expect me to take care of their children so they can socialize. It is very rude! A few times that this has happened to me I have just walked away and let them deal with their own kids.

Yolanda, that is so totally awesome!!! You are brave! I am scared to drive another car that's not mine!

Hmmmm, well it looks like my brother might be cancelling the trip with Lorne. He has until tomorrow to get his hotel money back. The weather will be around 20C and maybe drizzling so he doesn't want to waste money since he wanted it to be in the high 20s all weekend. And now my mom said that if he cancels he will just come stay with us so they might not come this weekend since the weather is supposed to be lousy . And if they do come this weekend it won't be until sunday. And then if not that day then maybe monday or tuesday. So, now if my brother does not cancel it looks like I am going to spend a weekend alone which I so do not want to do. I don't even know anyone here! The last time Lorne left me for 6 days I had a neighbour that I was friends with and I knew people in town. Now I am totally alone and 3 hours from anyone I know. Well, I sorta know the people he works with (2 guys), but they are going to be in the same area that Lorne is supposed to be vacationing in. That just doesn't seem like much fun to be alone for 4 days... I hope my brother cancels and comes to stay with us and that my parents still come on saturday. If not then I hope none of them come and Lorne and I can do something alone like always.

Try #2?

Sorry I'm 24/7 adoption talk. I'm a bit obsessed with this profile thing right now! No last initials... the birth parents won't know our last names unless we tell them ourselves.

Aww, I hope you won't be alone all week, Nicole! Maybe you can hang around a grocery store and look for women to chop it up with.

Ooh, that looks really nice, Crystal. Are you doing the type of adoption where the mom is pregnant with a baby she wants to give away, and she might pick you and your hubby? My mom did that kind with my half brother. She got to pick his parents which was really nice for her, and then they visited her and their new baby in the hospital and took him home. Gave her piece of mind.

Ugggh, Nicole, you have GOT to be kidding!

Yolanda, woo hoo!! That's awesome!!

Crystal -- I cross-posted with you, love the new page! (Well, I liked the old one, too, but this one's great!)

I just got home from my meeting, it was great, and then I took advantage and went grocery shopping all by myself! yay!! I had dinner ready and the kids' PJs laid out, so hubby put them to bed.

Okie dokie, so far #2 is winning out.

Yeah, it's a Voluntary Infant Program, where the birth parents voluntarily terminate their parental rights. In many cases, they pick the birth parents (hence the profile thingy I have to make!) and in some cases they don't want to pick and leave it up to the agency.

Crys, I liked the page you dedicated to cuts of meat. I'm not sure why that didn't make the cover? Are you waiting for Yolanda to send you a picture of her electrician? Is it the blueberry peeler? How can we help you, girl? Just how can we help here...

<-- see, there's a blueberry that just doesn't want to be peeled.

Oh, and Isaac is a riot! That is way too adorable -- a bug spank! I might have to start quoting him. THAT, is ADORABLE. I hope you wrote that down somewhere other than just here because you just know someday his wife is going to have a good laugh out of that.

Crystal I definitely like page the second one better! I second the idea of maybe making the picture just a little bigger though, you do want it to be the main item on the page. Is there anything else I can do to help you scrapbooking wise? I do everything digital now and have become quite proficient if I do say so myself! Pm me if I can help and maybe we can chat about it sometime. As far as not having many pictures, can you send out a plea to friends/family who might have some pictures of you from get togethers etc? Even if you had to scan them it would be nice to have them.

I had tons of fun at my maternity shoot today! I love photographing bellies! The more I do this the more I think I would love doing it more full time!
