Cindy--I am so sorry that I am the cause of all of your car problems. You do remember that everything IS my fault??? I really hope that you can make it. We NEED you there! Although, those of us who keep NORMAL hours (ie 5:30am-10pm) will probably enjoy the sleep we would get without you keeping us up all hours of the night!

Yes, I do remember that, and since it's all your fault, I think you should pick me up on your way through.

Ummm, those hours are not normal. Those hours should be illegal.

CIndy--sure!!! You really wanna sit between ds2 and ds3?! We do have a roof rack. Should we put all offspring up there?

I know, but I wanna come THIS year, too!!! <pouts and stomps foot>

yeah me too!!!!!

Narnia...funny story I forgot to tell you a few weeks ago. My Messianic believing brother and his clan came to visit us when I was in the hospital with Justice. He said that he was at Wal-Mart that morning and a guy in a uniform and yamaka came up to him, all talkative and smiles at seeing someone else wearing one. He asked if my brother was from here and where a synagogue was. He was disappointed when my brother had to tell him that he was just visiting. The guy said he has been here over a year and that's the first time he had seen someone wearing a yamaka here, so he just HAD to say hi...lol. My brother got a kick out of it...lol.

Right now I wish that I could convince Timothy that he shouldn't be calling the K'nex company to ask them for job there. So far he has been caught with each try, but I am starting to wonder if I should let him just to get it out of his system. He refuses to believe that they wouldn't hire an almost 9 year old.

oy vey.......my hubby went to do some paperwork on Justice (insurance stuff) this afternoon....boring, so I opted to stay home with most of the kids. He found a yard sale and got something he has wanted for years (he says).....a wall plaque with a green bass fish on it....AND IT SINGS!!!!!!!!! Maybe I should have gone so we could have passed up on that great find!!!! I asked him where he was going to put it, he said in his room when he eventually gets one. I suggested he put it outside with his other fish....he didn't quite go for that. (He has a green bass that swims around in the pool...and he has one on a magnet for the refrigerator...seems to be a recurring theme here.)

Haha! You are definitely still in Oklahoma then.

You found a singing fish at a garage sale in Oklahoma!? And it's such a culture, high-class place. What a surprise!

Okay, no surprise it all. It was probably from one of my distant relative's garage.

LOL.......it was a church down the street having a yard sale. I told hubby there is a reason that thing was being sold in it's original wrapping (still attached to the box too with screws!!!)...IT"S HIDEOUS!!!!......like I said....OY VEY!!!!! (btw, did I ever tell anyone that that was one of Emma's first words? Her first "official word" was "yah" from the Beatles song "I love you YAH YAH YAH"...and her second word was OY VEY...copying me cause I say it often I guess...lol. Funny thing was she said it at a time that it made perfect sense to say it!!! LOL. OK...just a small trip down memory lane...lol)

I remember when those fish first came out. Joe was fairly little and wanted one for Christmas. He thought it would look great in the living room! We didn't get it for him though. I suppose it could have been worse. They make a great big deer head that sings too.

That's too funny, Lisa. It might be good for you to let him call and find out for himself.

Oldest DD comes home from camp sometime late tonight - Yippeeee!
Youngest DD is at VBS tonight. I've never heard of VBS at night until we moved here.

Tomorrow morning I meet with the homeschooler that was hired by the school district to help other homeschoolers. I'm not really looking foward to it, but I guess I would of had to meet her eventually. She is the contact person for anyone that wants to get involved with anything... like dual enrolling in college, sports, band, etc... I think she was surprised that I haven't contacted her YET, and managed to homeschool without her help for the whole year

Your school district hired a homeschooler? That just seems weird to me. I'm afraid I'd find myself a little suspicious of the motives behind that.

Congratulations Michelle!!!

I have all of my middle school/High school stuff "in the bag". Most of you know that we are "relaxed schoolers" right? Well, We got yet another Teaching Company catalog. My 11th grader and 9th grader are both MEGA VISUAL LEARNERS and both sit and scour this catalog drooling. This year I asked my Honey about spending some $$ on the lectures for them. We have "The Joy of Math" and triss and trill loved it (Trill is a Mega Visual Learner too... specially when it comes to MATH)

Well this year knowing that Triss did all the same work Trill has the last 3 years and we could have graduated her BUT then we'd of missed out on the 2 free years at the Community College we kept her in HS. She got on her knees and begged for
High Middle Ages
Building Great Sentences: Exploring the Writer's Craft
and
How to Become a SuperStar Student (Trill, Jared, and Jeromy will all be doing this one as well)

so that is what she is gonna get!

we will also be getting

High School Level—Algebra I (Jared and Triss)
and
High School Level—World History: The Fertile Crescent to The American Revolution (Jared and Jeromy)

The short ones are still working on BASICS and RETENTION, so LOTS of worksheets on Phonics and reading comp and math...

I am just happy to have it all set if you know what I mean.

Yes. I know exactly what you mean. I had it all figured out, but got distracted. I have everything, but need to figure it all out because I have more than I could possible to in one year. So... I am still needing to go through all the piles of books I have and make a plan for each child. However, this cannot be done until I have completed everything we need for the evaluations we will have done, since I messed up an missed the testing date.

I am sad tonight. I noticed something on Noah's front top tooth. I tried to brush it off and wipe it off with a wash cloth. After he fell asleep I tried to look closer and I think it is decay It is strange to me because he doesn't drink hardly anything but breast milk! I left a message for the dentist, I hope I don't have to give up breast feeding. But, I sure don't want him to have ugly teeth either!

Yes, Jen, it's true. Those of us who are naturally night people do not do well on complicated tasks early in the morning. That's one of the biggest reasons I've never worked days - I'd miscalculate a drip and kill someone.

But Nate has never been a night person! He was always my bright eyed in the morning kid. Although, I suppose hormones could be changing that.

Alligator clips!? Why didn't you TELL me? Now I know what I've been doing wrong...

All teenagers are night people. I'm convinced of it. Even Jesse is starting to sleep in till - gasp! - 10am, and he used to wake up obnoxiously early.

I am now the temporary tambourine leader for our open house and dedication. Our tam leader has been away the past two weeks.

Today one of the people that is on the committee for the open house and dedication came to me and asked if I felt comfortable enough to lead tambourine for those two events.

Before I could ask why L wasn't doing it, she told me that L said she didn't feel comfortable doing that.

Now at oneg I over heard L's best friend talking with the committee person. The committee person told best friend that she had asked me to lead the dances for the dedication and open house. Best friend said "Maybe I shouldn't say this in front of her (meaning me) but I thought about it and wasn't comfortable with it. Once you do something once, it's yours."

I didn't say anything else, but thought to myself "It would only be mine if L decides to step down from tambourine and or decides to leave the congregation." I was told I would lead only for these two events-open house and dedication.

I wonder is this the beginning of L stepping down from tambourine or leaving? It would take a lot for her to step down from it, because she does (or did) like it very much-she was the one that started it. After service was over, L and her family took off.

I think it would be awkward for her to step down as tam leader and still stay on at the congregation though. Maybe she can handle it but it takes a rare person to be able to do that, from what I've seen.

I heard some other things about L that I have kept to myself that make me wonder if she is leaving us. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

And I had decided that should she leave, I would take over tambourine because I hate to see that go by the wayside. And that's why the committee person approached me for the two events-it really would be a shame not to do them when we have interest for it and when we know we have guests coming.

I just wish we had known earlier because it would have been great to do "Adonai"-our tam and banner dance, but now we don't have enough time to practice it and do it well. And it is such a great presentation number, too.

We had a wonderful night of praise and worship and communion. We left the roof off the kid's side of the tent so they could see the beautiful stars. I was very warm and comfy, but it did take me a while to get to sleep. The morning was beautiful when I got up and went to the house (Russ and Timothy was already there). Then the sky got darker and darker. We ran out and sent the remaining children inside. and quickly put the cover over the kids side of the tent as it began to thunder, then sprinkle. after we got back in the house it POURED! Hopefully that will be the end of the thunderstorms for the FOT. We can't seem to have a FOT without a thunder storm. LOL!

Shadow - praying Sam's eyes & her contacts start to get along! I can't imagine not being able to wear my contacts. Does she wear disposables? Just wondering because a Looooooong time ago when they had just come out with disposables, I was having all kinds of eye & contact problems (chronic conjunctivitis, tears/holes ending up in my contacts & they were very uncomfortable to wear). Anyway, turns out I'm allergic to the protein (I think it was protein - as I said it's been a LONG time) that builds up on contacts. So, they switched me to disposables. I have never slept in them & throw them away every 2 weeks!

quote:

I need advice. I asked Nate his math score from yesterday and he said, 'terrible' and I said, 'why?' and he said because he did it too early in the day and can only do math well in the afternoons. Could this actually be true?
My ds used to have the opposite problem. If we waited until late afternoon, it was like he didn't even know how to do Math! I have said often that if he were in ps & had Math at the end of the day, they'd think he was an idiot! (Note: ds is really good at Math!) He has always been a morning person, but is starting to sleep in more now - maybe Cindy's theory that "all teenagers are night people" is right!

Ez - praying for your boys' health & your sanity!!

Congrats on "officially" being hsers Michelle!

Sarah - LOL! Sounds like you will have a fish room in your house someday. I'll have an eagle one!

Annie - praying everything is OK with Noah's teeth. This is a baby tooth right? My dd had decay in a few baby teeth, but so far, her adult teeth have come in looking good & not gotten any cavities!! So even if it is decay, it might not be something he has to live with forever. I remember how upset I was when it happened with dd, praying for you!

Forgot to tell you all that I Finally ordered our curriculum!!! I am SO excited that I got it all done and MOST of it has Shipped already!!! It should be waiting for us when we get back! The only one that hadn't shipped was my Rainbow Resource order. I was going to combine with a friend, because she already had over $150 & was getting free shipping. Well, my total came up to $149.10! So, I ordered 2 paint brushes for $.50 each & told her to go ahead & place her order on her own!

I've got to get going! I am participating in a Beth Moore simulcast at a local church here. I have to be there in 45 minutes! It was great last night & I'm looking forward to this morning's sessions. I'll try to get back on here sometime today or tomorrow, but in case I don't. We leave tomorrow for vacation & will be gone until the 13th or 14th!
