I have had a headache for the past 6 days straight. I have been here a bit too much, but I haven't felt much like moving and there is only so much you can watch on tv before you get fed up with that and when I do get up to straighten or clean, I get dizzy so I do that as little as possible. I hope this is a weather or hormonal thing, but if it continues much longer, I am going to go to the doc.

J seems a little better today. But he's still all swollen under his jaw. X is home sick, feeling like vomitting. And I'm gradually getting better.

I don't think we've ever had a virus like this in our house, one where no-one seems to be able to shake it off (if it's even the same virus we all have - I feel, right now, like our house is the conjunction of the perfect storm of sickness - we're all sick, but with different symptoms and I'm wondering if we're just going to pass three or four viruses around until we're done).

And, of course, I've been too sick to clean house, which doesn't help to kill the germs. I'm going to try and drag myself into it today. There's nothing worse than being sick in a dirty house.

Sounds like quite a few of us are having issues of one sort or another. I do feel badly I haven't been posting much. I post here and there but not as much as usual.

I know it's allergy season really bad here. Ragweed. Pollen count is way up.

Yay! Today it's warm enough to open some windows up. Maybe having some fresh air blowing through the house will clear some stuff up.

I sure hope so Kylie!

I am proud of myself today but I know I'll hear about it too. Over 5 years ago Larry busted the back door, he had gotten locked out and didn't have his phone. Instead of just going to honk the horn to wake me up, he busted the door. So he buys a new door but 5 years go by and he never puts it on. I can never open the window on the door because if the wind is blowing any amount it will blow it open and the cats will get out. If they lean against it, they get out. So today I went and bought a little hook and eye thing and installed it. I just got tired of it banging open, or not being able to open it at all. But he also forbid me to ever make any changes or try to 'fix' something on my own, so I know I'll hear about it.

but maybe it will cause him to install that new door.

I'm glad you found a solution Kath.

I've been tired too, starting a new early routine will do that.

I ordered a math text for E; I got an email that it's coming from Jacksonville Florida where there are hurricane conditions and that is delaying it being sent. Oh dear.

Kathy, I have been forbidden to use sharp objects and anything with fire so they won't get me my blowtorch for Christmas.

that made me bust out laughing.

Dee, how soon does she need it? I wonder if they will send it overnight to get it to you sooner.

It is true. I keep asking for one of those little kitchen blowtorches for baking and my husband won't let them get me one. BUT this year I am going to have a sweet exchange student who is going to know exactly what I want for Christmas and when he gets his spending money, that will be accounted for. LOL

Sounds like a good plan Tracy!

Kath, I'm not sure when she needs it; she just said soon. E did say that her friend down the street is taking the class too; so maybe if she gets the book first she'll get together with her friend. I doubt that they'll overnight it for me, but I did order the expedited shipping. If they got to the post office today and the trucks are running and it was sent priority it should be OK.

I forgot to say thanks Garsy yesterday. I agree, my house my rules.

I'm glad it's Friday; I'm tired this morning.

I know this is random, but what is it with hurricanes and my birthday? *sigh*

My "surprise" birthday party is tomorrow and Fay is headed right for us. *cries*

Oh well. It'll still be fun!

I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this!

A couple years ago we had to reschedule twice my dd's birthday party once because of weather (a MAJOR snow storm) and then once because it just simply got to close to Christmas.

Blessings,

Garsy

Thing 2 has that problem too. He's a New Years baby. His birthday is always hard to plan.

Normally I would welcome the rain but this weekend just isn't good for me...LOL

Hi Tink! Welcome to the thread!

So how did you find out about your "surprise" party?

Do you have to do anything to protect yourself from Fay?

since that year we've always celebrated Zoe's "friend" birthday party in January exactly a month after her actual birthday. I even do birthday treats in school this way for her as there is ALWAYS so much going on those weeks of school.

Blessings,

Garsy

Hi Tink! Welcome to the thread!

Thanks, Kath! I drop in this folder from time to time so I thought I would take the time to get to know the women here.

Well, my friends know I don't do surprises very well so they told me they were planning something but that was it. I'll found out all the details tomorrow night. The best part is my best friend from Texas is flying in today for the party. *dances*

Well...I have no idea what we'll do...LOL my parents live in a big house on a hill so if worse comes to worse we'll go there but I honestly don't think it will get that bad where I am.

The worst that can happen is the river circling the town could flood keeping everyone stuck in the town for a few days. It happened a couple of years ago. *shrug*

We'll see. It's not a full hurricane so I'm not too worried.

So you have this problem often? Maybe God is just trying to kick your birthday up a bit. Sorry, don't mean to joke because it can be a big deal. Hopefully she stays mild and passes either around or just very quickly. Happy Birthday!!!!!

Well, Hurricane Katrina hit the day after my birthday 3 years ago which really isn't that big of a deal...we're in Florida and she hit MS and LA. However, my first name is Katrina (but please don't call me that!) and so that was a bit daunting...

Now tomorrow is my birthday party (my friends are throwing me one to help the ease into the 30's a bit better) and here comes Fay.

Who knows what God is doing...you know?

Oh my gosh! I love the name Katrina. But I know a Katrina who is just one of those really nice people. But I won't call you that. I do hope you have fun at your "surprise" party.

Thanks on both accounts!

There are two reasons I don't like my name and both are as silly as can be.

Growing up there was a little red head girl name Trina a year below me. She was the most annoying thing in the world and was CONSTANTLY in trouble. Unfortunately most people didn't diferentiate between the two of us and I found myself in more trouble then I deserved because of her. *sigh*

The second is because Katrina is a very German name and in baby books it mentions tall, graceful, blonde ballerina.

*snort* Have you seen me? Soooo not ANY of those things! So I go by Katy and all is well.

Even if a handful of people show up because of the storm I'm sure we'll have fun and I'll make sure to post many pics about it.

LOL, My hubby wouldn't let me name our daughter Lauren because he once had an ex girlfriend whose name was Laura and we had to stay away from any form of it.

I'm happy for you :)

My brother used to call me Katrina. I liked it but if you have a bad association with it I can understand why you would not like it.

Larry just wanted me to name the kids something easy.
