Ladies- I could really use your advice HERE.

McGuinessMagee -> RE: Sunny Days Women's Only Chat Thread for August. (8/1/2008 6:05:36 AM)

Hello!

We just went out to dinner at a restaurant which is walking distance from our house. J and X have decided we're going back there, if only to get more butter chicken. I have to say it was probably the nicest butter chicken I've ever tasted.

X and I are shopping again tomorrow. We went out last night to buy her a parka to take to Canberra and ended up buying a quite expensive one which was one size up for her. That makes it my size and able to be handed down to me when she'd grown out of it...

... which won't be long at the rate she's been growing lately.

Happy August everyone. I have a super busy month. 3 birthdays and our anniversary I can't believe that in 5 days I will have been married 12 years.
Have a good day. Hope everyone is doing OK

car2ner -> RE: Sunny Days Women's Only Chat Thread for August. (8/1/2008 10:52:49 AM)

It sounds like a good kind of busy, though [:D]

A couple gave us an offer on our house...they really low balled it and then wanted us to pay the closing costs. So the tiny bit of money we make will cover the cost of the repainting and carpeting we did to make the house look "fresh".
But we won't be paying for a mortage and rent and a family will be in that nice house again. It does noone any good sitting vacant. So I hope that all the financing for them goes through cleanly and we can close that chapter of our lives.

Happy August! This weekend is a long weekend for us (civic holiday on Monday). Not quite sure what we will do, but Dh has Monday off work and I'm not looking after the other baby on Monday so we'll have to find something fun to do.

I wish someone would make an offer on our house. [:@] It's been on the market for 2 months and not one bite. We've put a lot of money into it, too. It was built in 1926, but the appraiser said it has an effective age of less than 10 years. DH says we will get our money back on it. Okay? When? Not only that...but we decided to move out. We felt we would have a better chance of selling it if there weren't 3 kids running around. It's not really a kid-friendly house, which is one reason why we are selling it.

So...being that it is summer...we are living out of our motor home. [:)] That's not so bad. DH has to be out of town at a development project a lot anyway, so we just set up camp on site. The blessing is that we are all here together. Daddy gets to swing by the motor home anytime he wants to see the family and the kids get to dig in the dirt all day long.

Life is crazy these days...I feel like a gypsy. [sm=silly.gif]

Yes everyone needs to come!! It is called Dentes' Italian. We already have people in the community asking about when we will be opening.

That's so awesome that you have a following already, Nicole! I hope the restaurant goes really well!

Glad you had a good night, Kylie.

We had friends join us for dinner and then watch some GOD TV. We hadn't spent much time with them for a while, but thought that whilst the husband was on holidays, we'd take advantage of it.

RepentanceIsRequired -> RE: Sunny Days Women's Only Chat Thread for August. (8/1/2008 3:20:37 PM)

I'm not sure if I had said it here, Trish, but we are both excited and scared about this whole thing. I don't know the first thing about running a restraunt, and Ryan has been wanting this for many years and now it is happening.

School!?! [sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif][sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif] YIKES!! I still need to do school supply shopping and get Rae more clothes. It seems she out grew all of her clothes just this summer!!! Someone tell that lil' girl to not grow so fast![8|]

Hope everyone has a great weekend...I thought it would never get here!!!!

cherish405 -> RE: Sunny Days Women's Only Chat Thread for August. (8/2/2008 10:31:03 AM)

Nicole, try not to worry. I'm sure the restaurant will go well, especially if people are asking about it already and it hasn't even opened yet! Sounds like he's already got a following with his food.

Nicole_Michelle -> RE: Sunny Days Women's Only Chat Thread for August. (8/2/2008 2:29:40 PM)

Jennifer, I hope a part time job works out for you. Petco would be cool to work at[;)] Then you can get me discounts on pet supplies.[8D]

Hey Trish, so what is up with you lately? How's everything going?

Hey Trish, so what is up with you lately? How's everything going?

I couldn't work in a pet store. I'd be wanting to take all of the puppies home with me.

How's me? Not much going on. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist on the 12th of August. (FINALLY!) Other than that, I'm trying to get myself motivated to knit some scarves. I went through a real scarf making kick a couple of years ago, and I still have a lot of yarn left over. I thought that instead of it sitting there doing nothing, I'd knit it up and give the scarves to the school chaplains that we have in our church to give away. It gets to the low 30's (anywhere from 0.7C) here, so it's cool enough for people to use scarves. I'm having a hard time getting the knitting done though. My motivation has gone right out the back door, and my hands get so swollen and painful that even when I'm in the mood for knitting, I can't do more than a few rows at a time. I told the chaplain that I talked to that what doesn't get knitted for this year, I would stockpile for next year. I've got bags and bags of yarn, so it's going to take me a fair while.

Thanks for asking.

Miss Giggles -> RE: Sunny Days Women's Only Chat Thread for August. (8/3/2008 11:37:10 AM)

I like cats and dogs but do not like mice and snakes (sorry nicole) so I wouldn't want to work in petco. Not to mention the birds that got loose and are flying around the store.

The goal is Aug 13. However we still need to get our state ID# and not sure how long that will take. We have a few other things to do, so we may have to push it back a week (which I wouldn't mind). (and we are in Nebraska)

Not sure about your state, but in ours you can get your business license and tax id online. It speeds things up a little.

cherish405 -> RE: Sunny Days Women's Only Chat Thread for August. (8/4/2008 2:20:40 PM)

Jennifer, plain knitting is pretty easy. It's best though if at the very beginning, you've got somebody sitting with you, showing you how to. I'm left handed. My mother was right handed. When I finally got somebody left handed to show me, it was a lot easier. I know how to knit and purl. Any of the other stuff, I leave alone.

Oops, I have had OK on my brain so I thought that is what you said.
