Yes, this is weird Kansas weather, Memaw! It's only 76 right now & it's after noon....

I am feeling somewhat better (home for lunch now)....so I do think my problems this morning were mostly nerves/stress related. Thank God!

Martina was awesome!!

The family reunion was a lot of fun. It was held at a park with an amusement park inside of it. I think my kids talked me into going on the tilt a whirl 7 times.

RFKC was great! The kids really are a lot of fun as most of them are so excited about going on the trip. One little girl cried when she found out that I wasn't going camping with them.

So.... is Brad Pitt his real name? That is pretty cool that you went to school with him like that! He's an annoying man, but still that is a cool story.

Yep, it's his real name. There's a guy who was in his class who's also an actor. I've seen him on different shoes over the years. I ended up having a fencing class with him in college. He uses his real name too. It's funny, the last time I'd heard him sing was when he sang "On Broadway" in the school talent show. The next time I heard him sing was when he sang a Klingon battle song on STNG. LOL

BTW, I'm in the Wichita area, where are you?

My cousin used to live in Wichita. He worked for Cessna for several years. He liked it. They used to fly to Ponca City to the Mexican restaurant in the airport for lunch. We visited him once and he flew us there for supper.

Good luck, Trish!

Well, I'm being lazy now. It's depressing to read about Megan getting into her classroom. It means it's coming soon for me too. I love my school and the people I work with, but I'm loving being on vacation! I've been lazy all summer and getting up at 5 every morning is NOT something I'm looking forward to. Ugh!

Have a nice day, ladies.

Yes, yes, it is coming SO fast, Beth! Sorry to be depressing to you. You got out of school much later than I did though...so you should still have a few weeks, right?

Anyway, guess I'd better get off this computer so I can get back to that classroom. I'm struggling with waking up early & getting back into a routine...so don't feel too bad!

Have a great day everyone!

Ponca is only about 45 minutes from where I live.

Speaking of actors, my #2 DD just auditioned yesterday for a small part in a film that will be filmed in part in Wichita.
That would be so cool if she got it!

Are you relieved that you are diagnosed correctly? Is there anything they can do to help you manage it?

(((Trish))) One of my mother's friends has fibromyalgia, and I know how difficult it can be. What have they told you to do to make it manageable? (or was it just the diagnosis today?)

Trish,
Yes, to diagnose fibromyalgia. She says that all my symptoms point to it.

This may sound strange, but I'm glad it's official. What's the point of having the symptoms if you don't have the diagnosis to go with it? Will this help you financially, as far as benefits, I mean? I think fibromyalgia is considered a disability in some states. Our neighbor back home has it and I think he gets some assistance. I'm not sure. I've been overseas too long. {sigh}

Faith- You're not really depressing me. I do look forward to school starting. I always have. But I'm just really enjoying being lazy this summer. It's heavenly!

Have a nice day, ladies.

It sounds like a good kind of busy, though

A couple gave us an offer on our house...they really low balled it and then wanted us to pay the closing costs. So the tiny bit of money we make will cover the cost of the repainting and carpeting we did to make the house look "fresh".
But we won't be paying for a mortage and rent and a family will be in that nice house again. It does noone any good sitting vacant. So I hope that all the financing for them goes through cleanly and we can close that chapter of our lives.

I wish someone would make an offer on our house. It's been on the market for 2 months and not one bite. We've put a lot of money into it, too. It was built in 1926, but the appraiser said it has an effective age of less than 10 years. DH says we will get our money back on it. Okay? When? Not only that...but we decided to move out. We felt we would have a better chance of selling it if there weren't 3 kids running around. It's not really a kid-friendly house, which is one reason why we are selling it.

So...being that it is summer...we are living out of our motor home. That's not so bad. DH has to be out of town at a development project a lot anyway, so we just set up camp on site. The blessing is that we are all here together. Daddy gets to swing by the motor home anytime he wants to see the family and the kids get to dig in the dirt all day long.

Life is crazy these days...I feel like a gypsy.

Our house in Kansas is adorable! It's sat empty w/a for sale sign for almost a year now. We let one potential buyer tie it up with a contigent to sell her home type offer, never again! Last week we got an offer about 60% of the asking price wanting US to put in a new furnace, NOT! We didn't even respond. I love the house! Probably built in the late 1800's. http://foradvantage.com/emophp/links.php?action=show&link_id=1154

Pray, pray, pray! Especially if you're desperate to sell. Our house in Guadalajara sold last month! It was a serious miracle! I think I need to get desperate to sell in Kansas, but in my heart, I want to keep it.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((KIMMIE)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I really hope that you don't have it. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Thanks everybody.

Thursday, like you, I'm glad it's official. To be honest, I'm relieved. Up until now, I've had a bunch of random symptoms that 'didn't amount to a hill of beans' as my senior pastor says. Now I have something that I can put it down to. I finally know what's wrong with me. I've bought my rehabilitation physiologist some flowers to take to the gym with me tomorrow as a thankyou. She was the first person to connect the dots for me so that I could find out what was wrong.

The rheumatologist is trying me on some stronger pain meds, which I think is wonderful! Current pain meds just don't touch the sides right now. I have to change my 'sleep hygiene', which means no TV the hour before bed. I don't do that anyway, but I do come onto CW in that time, so that will have to stop. Relaxing time the hour before I go to bed so that I get prepared for sleep. I have to make that a new routine.

Apparently I'm doing too much in the way of exercise. Exercise is important, but because it's causing me pain, I have to reduce my exercise so that I am exercising, but it's not causing me pain anymore. I can build it up as I'm able.

As far as a disability pension, I'm already on one. My depression is so bad that the doctor told me I wasn't allowed to work or study. I couldn't do that in any case. My concentration span wouldn't have allowed it. Now it REALLY won't allow it! At least now I know why my concentration span is so bad, and why I couldn't do simple tasks after having them explained. I thought I was just stupid and would just cry.

{{{Trish & Kimmie}}}

It's so good to know what to do and how to do it. Better than batting at the air, huh?

The kids and I are headed to a birthday party tonight. Then E's spending the night. Since there's no camp tomorrow I get to sleep in 2 days in a row! Whoohoo! Since E will be at his friend's house, I'm thinking no water park. Save the money and just hang out with the twins at home. Play with them or watch movies. Sit outside and enjoy the terrace while they play in the garden. Sounds nice, huh? Oh, wait, it's usually Saturday that we go and he'll be home then. Well, I'm thinking we could relax 2 days anyway. If E complains that it's too boring, he can "relax" in his room for a few hours instead. {insert evil laugh here}

Well, off to CUOP. Have a nice day, ladies.

Are you all looking forward to winter after all of the hot weather you've been experiencing?

I wouldn't mind it getting a bit warmer, but I'm not looking forward to the hot weather of summer.

Ive put in for 5 part time jobs and still kinda looking for an opening at the P.O. which since they are going to offer and earlier retirement should open up some space ^_^ eh anyways Im being patient.. I know God will take care of me.
