Hmmm...good point. How about Misrepresentation of a present material fact made with intent to induce another party's reliance, on which another party justifiably relies and is damaged?

Unless everyone is very bummed and thinks this guy has tarnished the name of Mr. Lawson, that would be difficult to prove as well. Also, while we truly may believe that we rely on these forums and the info we get here the world actually existed before then and would continue without them. Can you tell that my job at one time was to find the arguments the opposing attorneys might use or their defense against our arguments? Again, without Mr. Lawson's support of your case, it would in all likelihood be dismissed with prejudice.

But if it isn't Doyle but Doyle doesn't mind that he used it, I don't think you would win.

AmeriGrandpa just confirmed that he'll try to sing tenor at the Meet-And-Greet!

I'm so proud, youngartist!!! You're talking like a real lawyer!

Thanks!

I guess that's a good thing as long as I'm different from the mainstream of sharks.

However, if I were to detrimentally rely on the fact that it was his picture by incurring some type of monetary or physical injury, Mr. Lawson's consent would have no legal bearing on the outcome of a judgment in my favor.

Not necessarily, your ability to prove detriment would be shaky at best and without that proof, it would all be moot!

So should I switch back to the picture of WhiteRoseBlessings that DanielMount designed for me the one night everyone put up pictures of her?

Or should I stick with the one AdamEdwards designed?

Oh, not as hard as you might think. For instance, paying $4.00 a gallon gas for a few miles to meet him at a Meet-And-Greet could be sufficient reliance for Intentional Misrepresentation. I could at least recover the gas money.

Would very probably depend on how good the attorney for the opposing side was!

But if Amerigrandpa's attorney could demonstrate that you were going to be at NQC anyhow...

Sure gonna be some disappointed people if Amerigrandpa decides not to reveal himself at NQC or before. If you remember he was around last year at the pollsters meeting and the majority didn't see him there.

Wouldn't make much difference - if I went to the Meet-And-Greet especially to meet him.

Well, if his attorney could demonstrate you were already going to go to the building for the showcases, vendors, evening concerts etc., I guess all the damages you could sue for would be your sweat and exertion of energy to walk over to the part of the building where we'll be doing the Meet-N-Greet.

You mean it's gonna take energy and exertion?????

To walk from the showcase down the hall to the meet-n-greet?

Yeah, it'll take some, but probably less than it would take to walk a little farther to the nearest bathroom.

Well that depends on how good his attorney is - given the size of the exhibit hall those may be greater damages than hundreds of miles of $4 gas!

Also, if suing him doesn't work out, I could always sue NQC and Freedom Hall for strict liability because of the building posing a threat of unreasonable detriment to someone's shape.

In other words, suing since you might run a risk of getting into better shape from the exercise?

You'd have to be really good to win that one.

Don't trust me?

...in reality, I'd have to work on an hourly basis to take a case like that.

What do you mean by an hourly basis? Isn't that how lawyers are normally paid?

A lot of times lawyers work on "contingency," or a percentage of the "win."
