Because I Love You was No. 1 the day I got married.

Mike, that is sooo sweet.

Ours was "My Ding-a-Ling" .... never did really care for that song but the tune is catchy [:D]

first marriage was "Windy"
([:(] tornado would have been more appropriate in the end result....
[:)][:)]except for my sons, of course)

What I find funny is Swains. I remember when that song was #1. Some of the others are funny too, mainly because I consider them to be classics. *ducks and runs for cover*

No need to duck & run, Terri.....we all know we "classics" are the best.....
if ya' don't believe it, just ask us[:D][:D]

the links below are from "The Gospel Greats" website...use to determine number one songs by month in the respective decades:

http://www.thegospelgreats.com/1970s.htm

http://www.thegospelgreats.com/1980s.htm

http://www.thegospelgreats.com/1990s.htm

Those are neat but don't go far enough for this old fogey. I need mid 1950s. Nearly back to the pharoah times.[sm=pharoah.gif][:D]

Unfortunately, Singing News wasn't around then and so wasn't keeping track.

L5FanLady -> RE: What song was #1 the day you were born? (7/20/2008 7:20:19 AM)

"Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe" by Barry White.[8|]

EDIT: Using the Gospel one mentioned above, it is, "When I Wake Up To Sleep No More" by the Inspirations.[;)][:D]

What a strange world we live in:

March 1976:

Secular: Frankie Valli - (Oh, What a Night) December 1963 - My least favorite song of his

SG: The Inspirations - Jesus is Mine - One of my least favorite songs of theirs

I noticed some have checked to see what was #1 on their wedding day, so I decided to try that as well. I can't tell you what it was, [sm=icon_smile_blush.gif] but it was interesting. [sm=icon_smile_blush.gif]

BTW, I got married December 30, 1981. [sm=dance.gif]

Thanks for the Gospel Greats link.
I had thought that the Spencers' "Comming Soon" was #1 in November of 89, but I was proven wrong. "When I Knelt The Blood Fell" by the Greenes had just taken #1.
Well, I just LOVE both of those songs. That was a good time of the year to be born.

jenniferb -> RE: What song was #1 the day you were born? (7/24/2008 4:43:16 PM)

"Shining Star" by Earth, Wind, and Fire

I think it is quite appropriate. [:D]

Spiritinthesky -> RE: What song was #1 the day you were born? (7/28/2008 9:41:31 AM)

'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK
'Ben' by Michael Jackson in Australia
