Status: offline 		One has to make an effort to try to make the fair city of Huntsville look bad.

I appreciate the effort and social commentary here , but it is hardly a comprehensive look at the Rocket City. Clinton Avenue and Governor's Drive have much finer sections as well as those shown in the video.

I love "Minnie the Moocher" for background music, smooth editing and special effects are not overdone--overall well done.

If you have three minutes of boredom to relieve, this one might help.

Status: offline 		I was at that baked potato thread earlier today so i went shopping for potatoes, onions and also some steaks etc so I'm going to have to go cook a while.

I read your post...wow, no way! The wintery guesstimation is amazingly similar.

I washed the potatoes, sliced a big yellow onion and wrapped the onion slices in foil with the potato, each in its own "packet" as you say.

The oven's on about 500 with steaks in a pyrex skillet, salted, peppered and drowned in some generic store-brand marinade with a bottle of KC Masterpiece waiting to hit 'em when they're done. I put the wrapped potato/onion packets in on the sides of the pyrex skillet. The sliced yellow onion looked juicy enough to flavor the potatoes a little. At some point I'll go turn the steaks over.

Not yet, I like a baked potato plain and tonight's an experiment, but this^^sounds good.

I have many more potatoes and onions left with which to experiment. I will do it next time, Qtman! Thanks!

I'd share if I had a jet to deliver it! I've heard wealthy jet owners sometimes send their pilot to pick up food for them from far away.

Oh what a trick of photography! Huntsville is up and down in the shadow of Monte Santo mountain! There flatter areas but it's mostly not flat. That's why I was admiring how he focused on just a fraction of the city, including not turning the camera around 360 at any point because there is just too much there to not see it! There are at least three tv stations and you can see broadcast towers on the mountain. There is a huge economy there and the population has transplants from all over. There's a lot more to it, much more than was shown. I mean think of the Space and Rocket Center and its IMAX theater!

The video made me laugh though.

Yeah he was deliberately _not_ turning the camera around. Where Clinton Avenue exits the Parkway they were tearing down a mall and building some huge new complex, haven't been up there in months.

And he shows the Salvation Army building and a convenience store! He'll never make the Chamber of Commerce like that!

Status: offline 		Being from their I can say the video does not depict Huntsville as it really is. Although I do believe I recognized Butler Terrace a government housing project. The video only showed the more seedy side of my home town.

Oh yeah, heard of it. Well, ancestry and two bucks will get us a cup of lousy coffee! Anyway the developments, malls, the new theater...folks watching that video have no idea.

I like to visit Cheeburger Cheeburger in a shopping center at the corner of Airport Road and Whitesburg Drive.
