Welcome worthalotbuckeye. If you've been around awhile I don't need to introduce myself. I'm just a old, crazy, married and like to mess with people. I mean no harm. SM is the one I like to mess with most.

Thanks to all for your welcome. I'm nervous and shy right now, but look out when I start feeling at home!

Oh...don't be...we're harmless!! Welcome...glad you stopped lurking and joined in!!!

If she's not available to mess with then he gets less picky who his next target is!!![:D]

Nah, Lynn . . . he just saves it up for me. [:D]

Have a good day at work Santa...
I'll be back later...eldest son just got here and needs the computer for a bit.

SM...sorry about your printer problems. Wish I had one to send you...
You could start listing them with a week end date on them and by then you could have your printer issue settled. Just a thought....[:D]

I don't know about that...I've been a victim of his once or twice.

Worthalotbuckeye -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:20:40 PM)

Thanks for all your kind welcomes. I am trying to figure out how to work this thing. It all looks like greek to me. [;)]

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:23:16 PM)

Thanks, Lynn!

I had actually thought of listing them before I got the printer . . . but I don't write checks if I don't have the money to cover it at the time I write the check, and I don't want to list items for sale, without the absolute assurance of knowing I'll be quickly to ship the product once the auction ends.

BUT! [:)]

On the "Good News front" . . . after I realized my printer wasn't going to work, I walked up to the post office to check my mail . . . and waiting for me there was my digital postal scale. PLUS, about 5 minutes after I got back from the post office, Fed Ex Ground delivered the photography lights I had ordered for my portable light studio (MUCH better than the ones I had been using).

Both the lights and the scale work work very nicely.

After I make a post, I have to back out of the page and start again to see the next posts. Is there a trick to staying in so that it keeps going???

Does that even make sense???

Janis
Janis, after you make a post, it should automatically take you to the thread you just posting in; then you can scroll up or down to read posts.

Is your computer not doing that?

Worthalotbuckeye -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:30:35 PM)

Sharon-Marie. I make my post and it shows ok, but if someone else posts after me it doesn't show. I have to go back to the start page and come back in to the Geezer page. Sometimes there are two or three posts made already.

Janis

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:30:56 PM)

After clicking "ok" from the typing window (which doing so will "post" what you've written into the thread), you should then be directed to a window that says:

"View the message

Return to the forum"

The threads have been loading pretty slowy, and usually the above happens very quickly. However, with the threads loading as slowly as they've been, this might take a few seconds for the above window to be displayed.

At that point, you can either wait and do nothing; and if you do, you will be redirected to the thread you've just posted in.

If you don't want to wait, click on "View the message" . . . and that also will take you back to the thread you've just posted in.

Oh; that's probably cross-posting (when posters post near the same time).

If you scroll up after the page has loaded again, can you see posts made between your last post and your most recent post?

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:33:20 PM)

For instance, I have cross-posted with you during the past couple of post you have made. I just scroll up to see them once I post.

Qtman -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:33:37 PM)

Depending on your internet explorer you can also hit the refresh button on the tool bar at the top. On mine it is the button with two arrows in a circular fashion.

Worthalotbuckeye -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:34:25 PM)

Yes, in fact you made two posts while I was going and coming!!! I usually don't know if I am going or coming!!

Worthalotbuckeye -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:38:58 PM)

So, when I make a post, and I see that post, I just wait and other people's posts will come on automatically when they are made???? That doesn't seem to be happening for me even pressing the refresh button.

Worthalotbuckeye -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:42:15 PM)

No more time to play at the moment. Catch you all later! Thanks for trying to help me.....maybe I will get it someday!

Kinda. Not really.

You do have to perform some function (either refreshing the screen, etc.).

If you subscribe to a thread (the "Subscribe link" is located above the thread, near the top of the screen, and near the right, then), whenever you do something (post, surf different threads, etc.), if any new posts have been made in a thread to which you are subbed, then you'll be able to see the threads with new posts under the "My Forums" link near the top of the page; kinda near the right. If you are coming through the Faith Community Network portal, there's an added feature (next to "My Forums") that will tell you how many of your subbed threads have new posts in them.

Good talking with you, Janis!

Come back again (and it will get easier).

[:)]

Man! The forums are loading VERY slowly right now.

Qtman -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 3:53:21 PM)

They sure are. I keep expecting to get a run-time error every time I post.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: Geezers/Gonna-Be's Palavering thru the Lazy-Hazy days of Summer (7/15/2008 4:02:17 PM)

For when Janis comes back..............after my posts I right click and hit refresh to see any new messages in that thread. Or just left click on Southern Gospel and it takes me back to the main page.
