I never said that.

when Revelations screams it. And no, I am not enamored by demonic forces I am just not ignorant of his devices and I recognize and can tell the difference between what is spiritually occurring and what is naturally occurring.

Nothing wrong with that - our warfare is spiritual and indeed real. But the problem is when your precepts do not square away with the context of Scripture.

Other people can't because of unbelief/doubt. Nevertheless, let the Lord be magnified.

But because we will disagree further, let us end the convo here, shall we?
You choose to believe in some parts of the Bible, I believe it all....

So you're taking your ball and going home?

You have yet to name your source so why should I believe you?

Feel free to ignore my humble offer of the facts. it's your right to choose to remain as you want to be.

Have a nice day,
JF
Actually, I can understand the request for a source. It could have been done more nicely, but still...

I went to my bible and looked it up. At the start of verse 9 there is a marker for a footnote. The footnote states it just like this; "some of the earliest manuscripts do not contain verses 9-20."

It's not all that unusual to me...

And most Bibles and commentaries explain that, so I saw no need to cite a source. I'm not especially bright, but I've been aware of the fact since the late 60s from a note in my old KJV.

You'd be amazed at how many people don't read those parts because "It's not scripture" in spite of the fact that it explains what the scripture was trying to say.

Don't get me wrong. I know that demons exist today, and I know that it's the name of Jesus that will defeat them. I also know that if we go around looking for demons, that's exactly what we'll find, whether they're real or imagined. I'm not looking for demons. I'm looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith. Are there demons around? I'm sure there are. But Jesus already defeated them, so they're not a concern for me.

bluestone -> RE: the smelling of smoke and satan/demons (7/17/2008 10:24:30 AM)

Is there any scriptural evidence to support the notion that demons can possess inanimate objects? tables, brickabrac, blenders, thermos jugs, etc?

If so, how can it renounce Satan, as most formerly possessed people do?

Like wise. But to go back and forth with you is ignorant and silly, I will give you Scipture, the infallible Word of God.

The Lord has said touch no unclean thing. I will give you a real-life occurrence. Though you won't believe it, this is for those that are out there who hunger for truth and righteousness for the LORD shall fill them, praise God!

A pastor took a trip to Mexico and bought back with him...a souvenir or someone bought it for him. Either way he brought it into his home. One night in the wee hours, a small noise woke him up. He got up and walked the house and saw nothing and went back to sleep. This started happening every night. Well he started to pray when he got up the last time he heard the noise and asked God to reveal the source. Much to his shock he saw the little figure running. I lie not. Immediately he grabbed the thing and burned it and scaped up the ashes and threw it far away. No more noises after that. He has never seen that before and again but he says he will never forget it. Again this figure came to life. Can this happen? Some will balk, some will shake heads, some will disbelieve. There are people by the power of the enemy, who place curses, spells on things. There are numerous documented cases if you just research. Our LORD has said spirits roam in dry places seeking shelter. Folks, there are many spirits. But we are not to fear nor call everything we see a demon. It is written in Leviticus that we are discern the holy from the unholy, the clean from unclean...so let us do so with the wisdom God has placed in us by His Spirit and His Spirit alone. We are not swayed by emotions or feelings but are attentive to the Spirit of the Living God, obeying without delay, pleasing the Lord.

But for those that do believe, God will show you wonders from heaven as well as the evil that exists on this earth. Why? God knows. All we are to do is allow the Holy Spirit to work through us and simply....believe that the power within us is all that we need for the glory of our Father Who is in heaven.

There are many other real-life occurrences I could relate but too many scribes and sadduccees bent on killing the faith of many. Perhaps another time.

God bless all with the TRUTH of the knowledge of Jesus our Lord,

Let's be truthful now, you wrote:

As far as I'm concerned, anything over 50 posts puts you in that category.

I only reached 50 posts after I'd been a member here a YEAR. So you apparently are lots more than me of what you accused others of being.

Are you seriously having this conversation about the number of posts? I was simply jesting...[8|]

jstbeliev ,
See, here is the problem. You say there is a lot of documented cases. I research this stuff constantly. I have yet to find credible documentation on any of these stories. If it is there, please provide it for us, instead of just telling us it exists.

If scripture is not the rule of thumb, we are lost. IF scripture is taken out of context, or interpreted by those obviously lacking the ability to do so, we wind up with situations like this. Possessed tables and such.

I have to add this... If it's documented, you have a link to where we can see this and judge for ourselves... right?

blessings to you,

Naw, I'm done here.

The Internet is not really a good place to teach people about the Bible. It's not personal enough to make a big impact. And really most of this is a waste of time for me because the people on this forum are much like pharisees and the church elders of the Bible. Who were so engrossed in the traditions of the elders that they refuse to see the truth and accurate rightly divided word.

I came looking for people who had an open mind and wanted to learn more about what was available to them in the administration of grace. But what I hit was a brick wall of people who did not have any desire to learn anything new. But hey, I can't put them at fault because I didn't come here looking to learn anything either.

Have fun ladies and gentlemen, I will see you in heaven.

God Bless

I completely understand but I have been on many forums. This only is new to me. There are people who are gleaming and you are dropping a seed despite what you think. Actually it takes quite a lot of effort and gumption to oppose Word of Faith type teachings--which lock the minds of the believers and transforms them into machines which regurgitate the pamphlets of its proponents. Seeing and knowing the difference is not being "engrossed"--that's backwards.

There's no reason to leave but make yourself happy. You're welcome to pop up in other threads as well.
