Rom. 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one measure of faith. Rom. 10:19 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Jude 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Heb. 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb. 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith... Faith comes from God. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. I think God uses different ways to increase our faith: answered prayers, praying in the Spirit, testimonies of others, hearing and reading the Word, etc. As far as deaf people hearing the Word [:)], they don't use their natural ears anyway...neither do we [:)] I Cor. 2:10 But God has revealed them to us throught His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. I Cor. 2:11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. I Cor. 2:12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. I Cor. 2:13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. I Cor. 2:14 But the natural man does not receie the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. We can't understand the things of God with our natural minds. The Spirit of God in us gives understanding to our spirit. Have you ever read or heard a verse over and over, then one day, you're like "oh, I get it! I understand!". When we have an understanding of what the Word of God is saying to us, our faith is increased, we are able to stand, believing God. When the test, trials and tribulations come, we will be like the one who built his house upon the rock. And we can be like Abraham... Rom 4:18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be." Rom. 4:19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. Rom 4:20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, Rom. 4:21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
