I take Aikido...you know Steven Seagal? Any other enthusiasts out there?

For about a year and a half, I took Goju Ryu, which is obviously a lesser known form of the martial arts. I really enjoyed it, but unfortunately got too busy with other things to continue. I'd really like to go back if I ever get the time.

Wow, I haven't heard of those. I used to take Karate as well as Capoeira, but my knees would no longer allow it. If you're unfamiliar, Capoeira is an Afro-Brazillian art...where breakin' came from. Also, "Only the Strong" was a film about it and the video game Tekken has a character who plays Capoeira.
Thanks for your responses![:D]

Yes, I'm familar with Capoeira. I believe it was originated by African slaves brought to Brazil, by Portuguese, to work the sugar cane plantations. Supposingly, Capoeira was disguised as "dance", since it was often performed to music.

When I was younger, I gravitated towards the more physical\hard martial arts. As I got older, I've gone towards less physical styles. I always figured I'd end up in Aikido and\or Wing Chun as they seem to have many practitioners of advance ages, meaning they can be practiced for a lifetime.

I selected judo on the poll, but I also did aikido and much preferred it. I didn't get very far in either one, and haven't been able to practice them in years. I also did a VERY small amount of heike-ryu jiu jitsu, because of how the lessons were set up at my dojo.

I have experience in Kempo, Muay Thai, and Jiu-Jitsu. I clicked on Karate, because it's very close to Kempo, and you didn't have an "other".
