Hey PH, On the Whiteness topic (Which I am sorry your feelings were hurt), My nickname in certain circles is "The Count" . I earned that name due to me and Casper being friends but the real drive behind it was, I was in New Orleans with a group of friends this past summer (Humidity and me are MORTAL enemies and the Sun and I tolerate eachother), and we were downtown in Jefferson Square (I think that is the place). It was HOT! they decided to stand out in the middle of no where in the sun, I of course moved int othe shade about 20 feet away next to a tree. they started calling my name...then saw me and said, "How the heck did you get over there so fast?! Did you travel from shadow to shadow...Count?" Low and behold, the name stuck...and whenever I am around any of them...that is my name...EVERYWHERE! Point is, maybe they meant it in not a bad way but had different senses of humor <shrug>. just a thought ma'am. -Kell

I'm thinking about doing some sort of volunteer work this thanksgiving - I saw this thread pop up and thought I'd drop in with an offer...it may sound silly, but I do really mean it. I'm single, but I'm never alone on holidays, thank God. I have a huge family and we are always together somehow. So if there are any of you who will be alone, and you don't want to be, you will be welcome here. We have lots of room. I know that for some this would not really solve your problem (we can feel even more alone in unfamiliar circumstances than if we just stayed home) but if you are a social person and would enjoy it, we'd enjoy having you. I will say this: during Thanksgiving and Christmas this year we will be getting ready for a wedding...i.e., making flower arrangements, invitations, deep-cleaning the house and fixing up the yard, yadda. So it's likely you'll be conscripted for part of that if you come! It'll be fun, though... shallbe
