Centrifuge- yeah like in the lab, a tool used to separate fluids from solids...

it is a youth camp- schedule for the week found here. My kids are not going too late this time. that and it'd seriously require them fund raising- nearly 300.00 a kid and that is NOT including any spending money.

As far as the church goes- It encouraged me that they had actually thought about our situation. Some might not like the idea of the associate ministers placement in the womens class but it showed me that he knew the situation and had actually considered my personal needs while my husband was out of town. he was right. I did need that particular interaction right then. He did not force it and did offer to show me to the couples class. and to be totally honest if he had not of been there I probably would have walked by the class, See from the door there was only 1 chair available and it was the one against the wall and the door frame. Kinda hard to explain- the door did not open all the way into the room. it stopped against a books shelf. The door not opening up all the way it was blocking the fact that there where 2 more chairs in front of said bookshelf. The one chair that I saw- if I had sat in it my feet would have blocked the doorway. As it was I was able to sit in one of the two chairs in front of the bookshelf.

Since hubby is gone to camp this week, I'm experimenting with foods that he either wouldn't or couldn't eat. Mostly spicy stuff, and meals with chicken and fish. Anyway, I just made hummus today. I purchased the store bought stuff a while back and it was , but this recipe looked promising. I think it's going to be my new favorite snack spread. I put some on whole grain lavash bread (looks like flatbread to me, but that's what the package says), rolled the bread into little tubes, and it was delicious! Sometimes the littlest things can make my day.

I LOVE hummus...and many other mediterranean foods, lol. There is a greek restaurant across the street and around the corner from me, and it's one of my favorite places to eat. They have the best Homas (hummus) I have ever eaten. Really good pita, too.

The kids have been wanting falafel. I will have to make some soon.

It is flat bread, but there are many kinds of flat bread. The kind you got is lavash (flat) bread.

I'm getting all kinds of education today!

I always though hummus was something only a health food nut would eat, and the stuff I bought in the store reinforced that opinion. Well, it is healthy, but the homemade stuff also tastes good. Joe ate some on the flatbread, then tried it on Triscuits. He finally decided it tasted best on Ritz crackers.

I like it with Triscuits, and carrot sticks, pita chips, nearly any bread...with chopped garlic, olive tapenade...hummus is just plain good stuff, lol.

Ack! You guys "are making me hongry.... " (said with a Mr Lunt* accent)

A friend from my Bible study took some family photos for me this weekend. I don't know if this LINK
will work because it's to a Snapfish page, but I wanted to try.

The beard is a new look for dh. Ain't he cute?

Wow! I feel so computer-literate now. Everyone's been sharing all these amazing photos and I couldn't figure out how to make it work.

Now I have a question. Since I linked to these photos on this website, does that mean they will live in cyber-space forever, or only as long as crosswalk hasn't deleted this month's chat thread (which is what 6 months? a year?)?

Which is actually two question...

Your link will be there for a year after the last post in this thread. We lock the chat threads when the new one is started. In other words, this thread will be deleted on August 1, 2009. Until that time, your link will be in it.

If that's a concern, she could delete the post after a few days, couldn't she?

I don't know how long after posting that you can delete a post. It may be a day or two.

Well, it's not really that big of a concern right now, but I always want to be cautious about what's there in cyber-space.

I have been involved in prison ministry in the past and we try to limit the amount of information available. Like if you google our phone number, you will get my husband's legal name but no address.

Unfortunately, the state of NC took away my anonymity when I registered my home school. Now my address is a matter of public record on the net for all to see. That is if anyone knows my full name.

When I taught full-time Bible study I did use my full name on the return address of the letters I wrote, but I always used the ministries address in Texas, never my own. Now, though, anyone wanting to find me IRL could just google my full name off of the letters and get a Google maps picture of the front of my house with my address.

What right do they have to disseminate your personal information just because you homeschool?

I have been having awful nightmares lately. Two totally different dreams, but both times someone's life is in danger and people won't believe me and something is holding me back from getting to them to help. Last night it was soldiers, but the night before it was a little girl that I had adopted. It was awful.

Wait! That's what I was told in a gossip fest at a home school group, but I just checked and they DO NOT list my address online!

I guess I should check before I post....

Hubby won't let me put his picture on line because of jail and prison ministry.

Bummer about he nightmares, Jenn!

Is there something dangerous going on in the life of someone you love right now?

Not that I know of. My mom says she gets that kind of dreams when she is dealing with being powerless, and I can see that.

Prison/jail ministry is risky.

It is the only ministry where you know for a fact you're dealing with people who don't exactly follow the rules. It is a real concern that someone find out where you live.

At the least, you might get hit up for money. At the worst, your personal safety could be at risk.

I'll add this to my prayers tonight, Jenn.

I hope you sleep soundly with no dreams at all. And I'm praying for you to find permanent work too. (((Jenn)))

I had a friend who was a prison chaplain. It's wonderful to know one--especially when your cousin gets himself put in jail Anyway, one day he was out and about and his wallet was stolen. The circumstances were such that he KNEW exactly who had taken it. He said all he thought was, 'Well, one day we are going to meet again...in jail!' LOL
