Praying for Donna and Brian.

I think we will be at FOT Tues-Thurs but don't quote me on that yet. My boss lost my request again and so my work schedule doesn't look anything like what I asked for. I am still trying to juggle things around. No word yet on who's coming with me - Brandon and Jess, of course, but no idea if anyone else is or not.

I stopped at Wegman's for medicinal tea yesterday. The sign promised that one particular tea would help my soar throat. Does anyone else's throat fly?

Ezri, praying that you find a good church home. I wanted to thank you for giving us an excellent idea for checking out churches. We're still unhappy at our church and things keep going from bad to worse. Still, we weren't sure how to go about looking and get a good idea of what other churches are really like. When you mentioned going to the midweek services, that sounded like the perfect solution for us. We have this week and next off from church duties and decided to take a vacation and visit other places. After that, we'll attend midweek services at anyplace else that we'd consider going. We aren't at the point where we're positive we want to leave. This way we can visit other places without burning bridges.

Found out today that our preacher told a church member his letter of resignation was going to be read today. He said he was fed up with the board. Well, it didn't get read. Don't know what that means. The preacher is a big part of the problem, but our major concerns are with the board. There is no real leadership in this church and they don't take well to new people stepping in. I think we'd always be outsiders as far as the board is concerned.

Ellie-Mae, I watched most of the video with TL and explained to her that this is exactly why we homeshool. Our children are not just one of the bricks in our cutural wall, as shaped the same and fit together into one big thing. We are living, breathing individuals shaped by God for a purpose that He has desired and He has made us for. We are part of a body of Christ working together in the kingdom of God, but each having a unique purpose and thus a unique package of gifts and talents. That video exactly how I felt as a person in the public school system.

Sue,

Sounds like something our former elders would have done. Sounds like there are some control issues-as long as the board doesn't read his letter, the preacher can't leave. This way they get to control when he leaves.

We had a great time at the water park last night, but it was too short. Of course today my blessing has been asking to go back there-numerous times.

I'm sure there are control issues. I'm just not sure who's doing the controlling. I'm glad we have next week off too.

Praying for Donna and Brian too-

Wednesday night is a good time to go, you usually meet the core group on Wednesday night. The church we are currently ... what would you call it, interviewing??? nah sounds too eh' anyway- they had a decent size group there that Wednesday night. The welcome that night was almost overwhelming.

VBS went well, the kids were welcomed with open arms and integrated, I already told you they voted Triss best Christian character.

Today went well too. We met the Associate minister on the stairway. he remembered us all and took the kids to their classes and even remembered Trill had just graduated and gave her the option to join the youth OR college and career class. Then he turned to me and took me to the Womens class- I mentioned that Jerry had said something about knowing the man that taught the couples class. The associate minister said that he figured what with Jerry going out of town I might want to plug in with the women.

He was right. He did not stop at pointing out the classroom, he actually walked me into the class and introduced me to the class secy (the registration lady at VBS) and the teacher(The Pastors wife) they had been doing prayer and praises when we walked in and a few others introduced themselves as the room settled back into things. I sat and listened for a bit and then actually opened my mouth and asked prayer for us with Jerry getting ready to go to Iraq.

They got the the prayer part of the opening and they prayed for Jerry and myself and the kids and brought me to tears. The lesson was in exodus- they are finishing the book up next week so I really don't have any of the answers to the questions but the class is very interactive, talking about the lesson and all. A few more ladies stopped me after and introduced themselves and told me they are going to be praying for us.

The 2 lil ones are in SuperKids and not in the sanctuary. I walked past the room they do this in and the Associate minister leads this time. He was telling them to have a seat and that they were going to sing a few songs then come down to sing for the congregation(VBS Songs).

They had 4 members of the youth baptized this morning. The testimonies were awesome. The youth actually leaves for centrifuge in the morning. The sermon? Peace Beyond Our Comfort Zone Psalm 4. Which is neat because I started to do the 1 proverb a night thing late last week but found myself reading Psalm 1 and thought COOL- I will just go from here and do a chapter a night save that Ps. 119 and then I'll take that one 1 Hebrew letter a night Tonights psalm? Uh huh Psalm 4.

I could go on but this is getting so long I need to stop.

~e

Sounds great, Ezri. One question. What is centrifuge? Remember, I work in a lab. Putting kids in a centrifuge doesn't sound good to me.

I was wondering the same thing about the centrifuge. Putting my guys in one does sound like a good thing to me. You know, getting some blood to the brain???

Ezri, That sounds like a breathe of fresh air.
I am now going to eat popcorn and ice cream while watchin Sense and Sensiblity with my daughter. My mother is in Louisiana visiting my sister for two month, dh and Mr. manly are at Cub Scout camp and MM is at a friend's for the night. That only leaves two of us. This is strange, but kind of fun.

Ez, it sounds like you've gotten more support from that church in a couple of days than you did in all the years at your old one.

I walked to the back of the pasture for the first time in awhile - the boys had put the horses into the round pen lest they get in the way while the new 30-06 was being tried out, so I went to let them out. I was pleasantly surprised to see large clear areas where there used to be so much brush you couldn't walk through there. Yay! I had despaired of ever getting a handle on it, but I guess all I needed was more than 2 goats. Not only do they do my work for me, but if they do said work then I don't have to feed them. What more could you want?

We had a nice BBQ with my dad's family, and then I spent 2 hours talking to my stepmom, which is always a good thing, even though I cry the whole time. It's kind of like having a personal counselor. Brandon biked to the high school activity, and Nate went with my little sister to her youth group. He said he had a lot of fun and likes it better than ours, lol.

I put some laundry in. I am not ready for the week to begin.

I didn't do much of anything today. I thought I was going to go to my MIL's and get my dh, but apparently a couple of things popped up with her and she needs to go to the doctor tomorrow, so he is gonna stay down there. It doesn't sound like it's serious. I told him he is stuck there till Wednesday now because I am working tomorrow and kids have music lessons on Tuesday. I have to pay for the lessons even if we don't show up unless I know we are not going to be there and give them plenty of notice. They already missed last week due to my trip to Atlanta so I am not missing this week unless absolutely necessary.

Speaking of my trip to Atlanta, my friend Jim went in for a cardiac cath on Friday and there is nothing wrong with his heart. Apparently that hospital's ER staff feels that 57 yo man + dizziness = heart problem, saw a little blip on his EKG (which was truly nothing), and didn't look any further. They still don't know the cause of his dizziness but he is feeling well now.

We are watching this episode of Dr. Quinn where the townspeople want to ban The Scarlet Letter. I keep thinking, there is no need to ban it, no kid will get past the first chapter! That book was SO boring and difficult to read that I refused to do so in my AP Lit class and actually got an F for the semester. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE to read, but that book was just too much! LOL

LOL, that is too cute. Welcome! What curriculum are you using this year?

Brandon took himself off to swim team. I have to make a phone call at eight, and then I am going to shower and dress and take an updated resume to the hospital, and I think go to a different temp agency than I have been using.
