And there are still many threads to post in regarding those issues. But, those threads need not dominate the women's only area which is exactly what they were doing. Which is exactly why requests were made to create another subfolder specific to these threads (and related ones) ... and had such a subfolder been created and those threads moved there as requested, this 'issue' would never have come up ... this feedback thread wouldn't be needed, and there wouldn't be a few dozen women in tears because they feel violated that all of their supportive words have been (in essence) stolen from them.

I think that a lot of people who have a problem with the "baby stalking" threads have probably already stopped reading the Women's Only section or the Women's Only-Personal Issues section or have left Crosswalk completely, so their side won't be heard as strongly as those who frequent those areas of Crosswalk. Thanks for sharing artemis. I can't say I agree with how all this was handled (I don't: I still think a sub-folder is a great idea and I disagree with just getting rid of threads with no warning when it is quite clear these threads meant a LOT to many of you ladies), but I hope at least one good thing can come out of that and that is maybe for women to hear each other maybe hear each other's hearts. As I posted earlier, I don't go into women's much - and I know a lot of ladies who don't. I'm single and I don't have kids so I pretty much don't fit in with 99% of the stuff in that folder. When I do pop in, I'm usually ignored. I think maybe I've burned too many bridges in theo! Ha! Besides, I'm not your average gal and to be honest I like hanging out in mixed company - online and IRL. I'm not even involved in my church's women's ministry. It seems like in the Church - WOMAN = MOTHER & WIFE. So, if you aren't at least one of the two, it's really hard to fit in. And that can be very hurtful for ladies who are struggling with not being that for whatever reason. That's fine with me. A lot of my interests tend to be "less than feminine" anyway so it isn't a big deal to me. But, I know for many women, it's something that is a cause of great hurt. I can see how going into the women's folder and wanting female fellowship only to see a page full of baby and mommy threads could just add to that feeling of isolation if that's not where you are in life. I also remember watching my best friend struggle with infertility and know her pain at seeing "mommies" everywhere she turned. That's not to say that she wasn't happy for them - it was just a painful reminder of a very painful hurt in her heart at the time. Some of you may not think that's a big deal, but it was a big deal to her (kind of like how for some having a stalking thread is so important and you feel extremely hurt that others didn't seem to honor & respect that ). So once again, I vote for a sub-folder that is dedicated just for mom's and babies. I guess I can see both "sides" and this just seems like a win-win solution for everyone.

I see your point artemis and Sharon and Jeanie, but this is a place for everyone, and the majority of women on here are mothers or are pregnant which is why there are so many posts about it. They are now. Many women who are single or don't have kids avoid the Women's Only forum because of the innundation of baby related threads. Some have left Crosswalk altogether. I am one of them that has stopped checking in the folder. I didn't mind the threads though. It used to have more variety of topics and was one I posted in quite a bit.

I didn't have 4000 posts to begin with. I had only been around about 10 months when my thread was made. Anyway, I don't think it matters whether someone is deemed "popular" or not. I seriously dont see what is wrong with just ignoring the other threads????

Nicole, it is for the same reason many women didn't want to have to go to the PFY threads for the stalking threads.....too many threads you don't care about to search through.

We didn't want them in PFY because it is decidedly mixed company. At least in WO, guys tended to stay away (or if they didn't, they weren't allowed to post) In PFY guys can read and post and it is 'allowed'

Yeah, I really miss Spitzu. :( But I understand the situation there (and with others).

Sharon I thought the beef of those opposed to the threads was because it makes others feel left out and hurt, or is it because there are too many or both? If this was fixed when the Spitzu thing happened we wouldn't have this heartache now.

It seems like everyone here, no matter their opinion on the stalking threads, agrees that there should be a mothering subfolder.

Okay ... both "sides" of this issue have agreed that a subfolder would be in the best interest of everyone -- and we've been asking for said folder for quite a while. I'd like to know why one was never approved/created. That would have solved this whole fiasco and there wouldn't be so many angry or hurt people now. I'd REALLY like to see Fritz appear on here and brainstorm possible resolutions.

Was it really fair to have these threads just disappear with no warning? Those who didn't care for the baby stalking threads could also use their "sub list."

I do use the sub list all the time. I used to post frequently in the Women's folder but after it evolved to primarily a pregnancy/motherhood folder, I quit checking out the folder altogether. I do not mind the personal threads but it was basically the only thing being discussed in there.
