I think if this cycle was unusually short, you shouldn't count on your next 2 cycles being textbook lengths. Getting married is stressful, and you can't predict how your cycles will be affected.

If your wedding falls at the end of your period, take a cool bath before the wedding or before your wedding night. The cool water will stop the flow enough to make sex much less messy. This won't work on day 1 or 2, but it should help near the end of the period. I don't have heavy cycles, but I've had baths actually end my bleeding a day or two early.

Also, a douche at the very end seems to "clean me out". It seems like the last two days of flow are just kind of residual. I know douching regularly isnt recommended, but a plain water douche should make things cleaner, at the very end anyway. But your period very well could be a non-issue from wedding stress.

While the wedding night is part of the reason I'm upset, it is the whole day as well. My energy level is almost cut in half during my period, especially the day before and the first 2 days of. Not to mention, I take tons of advil for the cramping and I have very little appetite. It is really just not how I want to start off my marriage nor how I want to spend the short time I have with my family and friends. Not to mention the extreme heavy bleeding that is normal for me and my ultra white dress

I know this isn't going to sound medical or anything, but you can pray.

I just said a little prayer for you just now. I hope that will help.

I use progesterone cream too, but I wonder, does she have enough time for this to cycle in her system well prior too? Doesn't natural take longer than synthetic? kd

ok...so I'm feeling much less emotional and hormonal now...LOL! But, I'm still bummed by the idea that Aunt Flo may crash the wedding. I talked to my fiance, and he said it would suck but we would make the best of it.

Do they make super uber super tampons? Sometimes the super absorbancy ones only last me 4ish hours on my heaviest days.

I believe I have seen that.

They have super uber ones, but I know for some women with endo they don't hold up for as long as they're supposed to. Maybe you could wear two things in case one caves. :)

An incontenance pad like Serenity will do a much better job with a heavy flow than a menstrual pad. You could also consider an incontenance brief to protect your dress.

Look into getting a moon/diva cup. I've never used them, but ladies who have love them and from the sound of it they'll give more security than a tampon.

I've heard that they have a bit of a learning curve, would she have time to learn to use it properly (not leaking) before her wedding next month?

Praying that AF stays away, or comes a bit early.

It would be better to try "Instead". They are disposable. She won't have to wait for them to be shipped to her as she can buy them in a drug store. She can practice with this period. And, if necessary, she can still have intercourse with one in place.

Thanks for the advice ladies. Man....my hormones were all kinds of wacky over the past couple of months and this one was a killer!

But, my period was of normal length and I'm feeling much MUCH better now! I think I'm gonna try the cream that was mentioned. If that does not work and I end up with my period on my wedding day, I'll just change to a super duper tampon right before I put on the dress. I'll use a pad of some sort also as a back up.

I'm planning to change out of my wedding dress after all the major parts of the reception are done. So, I should only have the dress on for 5ish hours anyhow.

The cup things make me nervous....but I may try them out. I wouldn't mind trying sex during my period as long as I'm past all the crazy terrible endo and fibroid cramps.

So, if I freak out again a month from now, you all have permission to knock me in my hormone bathed brain and tell me to chill for a few days until I get my brain back!

Woo hoo....!!!!!! Less then 2 months now!

Well, I just got my period today. And, on average my cycle length averages 29-33 days depending. So...I'm right on the edge since I'm getting married in 34 days.

I'm praying all goes well and that I'll be period free for the wedding and honeymoon. Considering my period itself normally lasts 3 or 4 days at most, I HOPEFULLY should be ok.

But, only time will tell. I'm expecting the worst though....that way if stress and such get in the way and Aunt flo crashes the wedding, at least I'm expecting it.

well, at least the first day will not be your wedding day!

This makes me think of that old movie sixteen candles when the sister is getting married and she gets her period and takes all the drugs to get rid of the pain. LOL! Sorry. I am thinking, what drugs does she get exactly! Mine are not even that good!
