"The Feeling I had" by Amy Grant (Behind The Eyes 1997). I believe this song was directed at her then husband Gary Chapman before their split.

I was thinking of a few as I was reading the thread, and then I read where the song "Baby Doe" by Steve Taylor was mentioned, and just the mention of the title brought tears to my eyes as I remembered the song. I think that has to be the saddest song in Christian music.

I forgot "Endagered Species" by Tim Miner and "See No Evil" by Holy Soldier...also directed at abortion.

one that's been getting to me lately is "cinderella" by steven curtis chapman, especially after what happened to his daughter. i just got it on iTunes on sunday and every time it comes to the part where the daughter comes home with the ring on her hand and asks her daddy to dance with her even though the wedding's still a ways away always gets to me. i went to a wedding recently and that was the daddy/daughter dance song.....it's gonna be played at my wedding for sure.

This is a really hard category. I can hardly think of any but here goes:

I Miss the Rain by Bride

Stranger to Holiness by Steve Camp

Why by Michael Card

That was a great song that hits me kind of like "Asleep in the Light" because at the time there was practically nothing being done in the church about Aids. It was sad for that reason to me.

Yeah Roger, I heard a special that Steve Camp did once. He said he was looking for a Christian minsistry about aids, but there was none, so he and a friend started their own instead.

Benjamin- Sanctus Real.
That whole album is pretty melancholy- in a healing way, though if that makes sense. That's just the season they were in at that time, though.

"The Hard Way" by DC Talk
"Deathbed" by Relient K (somebody mentioned this before me, and for that I seriously laud your choice of music)
"Hold Me Jesus" by Rich Mullins
"Silence" by Jars of Clay
"Always" (Father in Fatherless times) by Newsboys (and if you have seen them play that in concert, then you know what I am talking about)
"Tears of the Saints" by Leeland
"Can't Take the Pain" by Third Day
"Here I go again" by Casting Crowns
"The Blues" by Switchfoot
"Secret Ambition" by MWS

yeah, I have been through times where I had the blues, but all of these helped me out...

I would put down "Held" by Natalie Grant but that song is such a redeemer about grace and hope, at least to me

Say Goodbye by Skillet is saw, but its still a great song. =)

I don't know if this song is considered Christian or not, but they played it on K-Love a while back....

Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle. Always makes me cry. I have no idea why. xD

Years ago I used to hear a song called "Silent Weeper" on the radio. I don't remember who the artist was, but it was very sad.

Yeah. It is a sad song. It reminds me of a past relationship. So I don't listen to it! Haha.
I love K-Love, but they play a lot of the same songs and it annoys me. hahaha.

Do you get Focus On The Family?

Cooky hi.. How is life after braces? My grandson brought me a joke the other day, regarding saddest Christian Songs. Here goes

While driving through a small town just across the Ohio state line, a preacher pulled over, encountering two unmarked churches. Knowing he was a guest preacher for a very important revival he rolled down the window and checked his watch. From the church he was parked in front of, h could hear the lyrics "Will there be any stars in my crown."
To his dismay, at the end of the lyrics, the lyrics that could be heard from the church across the street were "No, not one."

It's amazing. It felt so weird when they first took it off. But they are amazing. I smile all the time now, haha. Thanks for asking!
