i hate trying to come up with some witty title or handle or something for every new site. but i thought this was appropriate enough...not only do i shift gears a gazillion times a day, but i find i'm often running at the wrong speed... personally and spiritually...and need to 'shift gears' in order to get back to that point where everything is running smoothly. (sometimes that takes longer than others. )

after finally figuring out what a PFY is...i also thought it would be a good way for me to keep in touch with my new CW friends...considering how i'm often offline for days or a week at a time while i'm on the road. now, instead of exchanging a lot of PMs...y'all can leave me a line here and i can check everything in one fell swoop!

a special note...one of the many blessings i've received since joining this site is the blessing of prayer. i spend A LOT of time alone in the truck...and i'm very disciplined about starting each day with a prayer for journey's mercies; safety for myself...and those around me...as we drive. and i do a lot of talking to God (yup...out loud...like He's sitting right there in the passenger seat! lol). but since joining CW...i've noticed i spend a lot less time praying for myself...and more time concentrating on my friends and family. oh, i've always prayed for my folks and my kids, and my close family...but these last couple months i feel like God has opened my heart to more. i check the (singles) Your #1 Current Prayer Request thread frequently...often going back days and days to re-cover people in prayer. one of the most incredible ministries in my life was how committed my grandparents (g'ma and g'pa) were to prayer. they were prayer warriors like you can't imagine. they kept a notebook of chock-full of prayer requests at their kitchen breakfast nook and prayed every morning...for themself, for their family, for each grandchild..and their schoolwork, and their friends, and their friend's schoolwork. it didn't matter. if it was a concern for someone and they learned of it...they prayed for it. dilligently. feverishly. and thankfully. THAT is what i want to be for you, my new CW friends. i am committing myself to be YOUR prayer warrior. my heart soars when i spend time praying for you...asking that blessings be showered on you...that your hearts be flooded with peace and wisdom and assurance. so thank you...in advance...for the blessings each of you will bring into my life. i thank God for each and every one of you.

God is so good, isn't He?

Thank you so much for praying for me (us) Kimberly, it means a lot. As I struggle through my day it is a blessing to know I am being prayed for.

had a neat thing happen last night early this morning. i was getting ready to logout...and saw i had a couple unread subscriptions. guess i was the only CWer who read it at the time. all i could think was that God kept me awake JUST to see that post (see below) so that someone here was praying for that family early-on in their crisis.

it's so amazing...every time i check the 'Your #1 Current Prayer Request' thread...and i pray for each and every one...God's Holy Spirit floods me with the most incredible sense of peace. it will just hit me..as i'm going thru my day...and i have to stop and thank God for leading me to CW...and for the blessings i receive daily in being able to pray for my new CW friends, and their friends and family.

and i'm dumbfounded...cuz i'm one of those people who, if i need to remember something, i have to either write it down (i keep notebooks in my purse, next to my driver's seat, etc) or put it in my scheduler on my phone. but these prayer requests...God just seems to write them on my heart. i may not remember every name, but He knows (You know...the one who's worried about...."

so...thanks, y'all. what a wonderful way to start my day (late as it may be)!!

I have a kind of urgent prayer request.

About an hour and a half ago, Officer Dan M.'s two year old granddaughter fell out of a window. They do not think she is going to make it. Obviously, the family is freaking out. Prayers for the little girl, her healing, and for the family for peace and comfort would be very very much appreciated. Thank you..

Congrats on your thread Kimberly,

Would it be appropriate to say: Keep on Trucking

or have you heard it 10 million times.

thanks! and nope...don't hear that hardly at all. too funny! those were the days, huh?

nowadays, you'll most likely hear drivers (not 'truckers'...cuz we are considered professionals now. lol) telling each other to 'have a safe trip,' or 'hammer down' (if you've mentioned you're on a deadline).

What has amazed me is to be driving on an interstate and pass one of those big gas/station/restaurant places and see 40 to 50 big rigs in the parking lot. There is a lot of things being transported that way.

i think you could safely say over 75-85% of everything you buy retail is shipped via a big truck at some point. and if you only see 40 or 50 trucks in a lot...will you let me know where it is...cuz parking is INCREDIBLY hard to come by!!!!!!! if you don't stop before dark, you're hard-pressed to find somewhere to park. i HATE that part!! i have driven HOURS trying to find a place to park...and had to give up and just park on a ramp. that's not safe, but if you run out of hours, well...no choice.

well, y'all...looks like i may joining the ranks in a new job search.

went to my orthopedist again today. got another cortisone injection...around my patellar tendon (runs straight down from your knee cap). good thing about cortisone...has a numbing effect. walked out feeling pretty darn good. bad thing about cortisone...the first 24-48 hours take a nosedive...pain gets worse before it gets better. soooooo...popped more pain pills.

see....that's why i'm so late checking-in here. the pills make me all....

oh.......sorry...uh...dopey. yeah...they make me dopey.

if i don't see a marked improvement by friday, he may do another MRI...to compare to the one i had done in FEB. unfortunately...i just plain have 'BAD' knees. have had. will have.

on a humorous note, tho....last week doc was all 'oh...you're the prettiest truck driver...blah blah blah". today........'do you need a stronger pain pill? are you not sleeping?" i just roared!!! YES!!! I MEAN...NO, I'M NOT SLEEPING. BUT NO...I DON'T WANT ANYTHING STRONGER. BUT IT SHOWS DOESN'T IT? I'M JUST SO TIIIIIIIIIRRRRRREEEEEEDDDDDD OF THIS!!!!! he didn't stick around to just chat today. heehee

i just don't know what i'm supposed to do. i keep telling myself i'm exercising my faith here. but then i just want to cry. can't i have just ONE little sign? i haven't had a paycheck in 2 weeks...and i won't have one this week, either. or next week. i put in for my STIP (short-term income protection...basically s/t disability). pray they approve it. tomorrow i'm gonna call my work comp case nurse and see if she thinks i can put this back under work comp...since it was that injury (at a customer site) in JAN that brought all this on. i just foresee red tape and legal fees i could never afford.

and i JUST wanted to scream this afternoon when my daughter was telling me how much money she's making (as a free-lance babysitter in chicago). the whole time she talked, i had pictures of grocery bills, and toys, and clothes, and shoes, and skating lessons, and trips to disney, and cell phone bills, and expensive dinners in chicago, and... of course, you know i'm joking, but still... i'm really struggling here.

well..........aren't i just the happy little pill-happy camper tonight? it's almost time...maybe i should take another pill and collapse into bed. too much whining gives me (and you) a headache.

thanks for listening, y'all.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Kimberly}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

I'm so sorry. Life can be sooooooo scary sometimes, and it just seems like God is keeping the secret out of spite.

Of course it's not out of spite, and I don't know why He must keep the future so unkown for most of us. All I know is its hard.

And I'm here for ya. I can't tell you what's going to happen or how God will take care of you, but I can listen and pray. And I will.
