it needed refilling. that explains the unexpected meow from cat #1. maybe it only meows when it's dehydrating? Munchie will cry if she needs more water (or food for that matter)... of course, it's generally about 5am and she's sounding as though she's about to be murdered so I have to sort her out. quote:

Sonic (cat) waits in the bathroom for me every morning, as soon as I finish my er, ah business, he jumps up on the sink counter so I'll turn the faucet on for him, then he'll sit there and drink out of it for quite awhile. He's not too happy that he has to wait until I wash my hands with warm water before I turn on the cold for him. Starz (younger, even cuter, but much more aggravating cat) chirps at birds.

My first cat, Beauty, had to drink out of the faucet too.

Bailey won't go anywhere near a faucet that's been turned on.

A few months before Sharon had to put her dog, Hannah, to sleep, we adopted a cat. He's black, grey with a little brown mixed in. Because of the black stripes, he looks like a small tiger. And, believe it or not, his name is 'Tiger.' Tiger is very 'talkative.' And, he is a very affectionate cat. If either Sharon or I are sitting down, he will either climb up onto one or our laps or climb onto the chair/sofa/loveseat that we're in and then climb down onto one of us. And, he likes to share. That is, if we are sitting next to each other, he will climb onto one of us, and the stretch out that he is at least partially lying on both of us. Sometimes, that's a real stretch for me. Something else that's really funny about him is that, if Sharon and I are together and one of us goes into another room, he will meow like crazy until we're in the same room with him. Even if it's just one of us going to the bathroom, he has a big 'cat-nip-chen!' When he's with me (because of the moving, he's been staying with 'the crazy woman' (aka, Mommy), he will cuddle up next to me. Or, more often now for some reason, lay down on my legs and squirm around until he's made a 'nest' between them. But, I get my revenge. I let him get settles. Then, when I'm tired of him being there, I'll turn onto my side. I think I almost flipped him out of the bed one time doing that. Or, I'll just lift one leg higher than the other until he 'flops' onto the side of the lower leg. Of course, he's not happy about that and lets me know. Also, if I hold a finger out in front of his face, he'll rub his face against it. Sometimes, it looks like he's trying to use my finger as a toothbrush or toothpick. It's funny.... While in Iraq, I slept through several indirect fire attacks that landed near where I lived (one was a 107mm rocket that landed in a parking lot about a block from where I slept). But, if I'm sleeping and my cat jumps onto the counter or nudges his way into a cupboard, I'll almost always be instantly awake (if the doors are open or it's a nearby room). One night is especially funny to me. Sharon was helping me move into the new two bedroom apartment and she crashed in one bedroom and I took the other one. Sometime in the middle of the night, I woke up to the sound of Tiger hopping onto the counter. As I got up and was walking to the kitchen, the AC kicked on, effectively masking my normally somewhat heavy tread. I rounded the corner to the kitchen and Tiger's head jerked up. Our eyes met and he leaped down and tried to slip past me. I caught him and gave him a firm swap on the tail. After letting him go and going back to bed, in less than five minutes, he was back on my bed, snuggling up to me. (BTW, I can see pretty well in low light.) He can be really annoying, but I love him anyways... In Christ, RC

LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aren't animals amazing? Okay, so my cat has one white whisker. She lost it last night. It takes about 2 months to grow back. She now just looks like a normal black kitty, not my unique Shadow.

I jsut remembered this one. My moms dog used to put his bone (chew toy type) in his water dish when it was empty and then lay down by the dish. He never barked or anything just put the bone in the dish and waited for someone to show up and fill the dish.

I have two funny things to share ... the first is about the squirrels in my neighborhood ... they are rather silly. 2 times in the last 6 weeks I have come to a complete stop while 2 squirrels chase each other in a circle about the size of a hula hoop in the middle of the road. Both times I sat there for 15 to 30 seconds and finally honked the horn to get them out of my way!!! Yesterday there was a squirrel in the middle of the road with his legs sprawled out behind him (or her) happily eating a nut. The other silly thing is about my dog Linus. Now last September I was so disheartened because of his downfall. He could no longer walk on his own (and weighed close to 170 lbs at the time, so I would take a strap, loop it under him and hold his back end up so he could go out to relieve himself) it looked like I might have to put him down. It was awful. Well he has since made a full recovery, and I got him down to a very skinny 140 (170 actually fits his frame better, but we needed to lighten the load to save his knees) ... today he was so excited when I let him out ... as he took off running chasing the silly squirrels in our yard .. he ran back, jumped high in the air turning almost a full 360 degrees, landed perfectly and took off running again. I was so blessed at the healing God has brought to this goofy, sweet animal.

Yay, Karen, I'm so glad Linus is feeling so frisky! (Oh, I've seen the squirrels-running-around-in-a-circle too, isn't it cute?) Michelle, how sweet! That would be cute to see, but I can't imagine how you could film it. Oh well.

I have been amazed at Linus's healing ... which reminds me of something I heard on a radio sermon ... The Pastor was talking about how when we pray for healing, we are (in our mind) actually praying for the miracle of an instant healing ... but true healing, whether from illness, injury or emotional trauma takes time ... it's a process. Many miss the answer to prayer because they are looking for the wrong thing. Just food for thought. I am so grateful for the healing of my boy Linus!
