Yetto - I would mention it to the nursery worker. It would help encourage them to watch situations like that and put your mind at ease. :)

WOOOO HOOOO! My bill has been removed from patient responsibility, since my insurance would only cover one doc. God is awesome!!! (thanks Purejoy, for praying I would reach the right people!). I didn't even have to ask or go up against them. They just said it's been taken care of.

Yetto

If I were you, all I'd do would be to slip out of church 2-3 minutes before everyone else (say, during the last song), so that I was first in line to pick up my baby.

YAY Rachel, that's great news!!

Manda, that's a good idea.

Yetto, it might also be a good idea to talk to the coordinator/team leader.

Thanks, ladies!

Here's what I just did outside:

Beware, there's a snake in the pic!!

He was coiled up in the hay bales hubby was moving. We just saw a fat, black snake and didn't hesitate to see if it was a cotton mouth or a ratsnake, I just started wailing away on it's head. Ratsnakes are harmless (eat rodents and eggs) but cotton mouths are agressive and venomous. Our barn is right by the creek, so we have a lot of them. It turned out to be a ratsnake. He was striking at us. He would've eaten rodents for us, but oh well.

There was a good reason to kill him after all, we discovered a few minutes later . . .

Little Momma Banty

Snakey would've eaten her precious little eggs! She was just a few hay bales away.

Rachel you are like my mother, kill first and ask questions later. She's dispatched a few rattlesnakes in her day.

Is that the snake you are holding, Rachel? Wow....he's pretty long...nearly as long or longer than your height! That is such AWESOME news about reaching the right people at your insurance.

I'm going to have to make some calls about a similar situation soon. Provider is billing US...insurance has paid their portion, but supposedly there is still money owed. They are a participating provider and with our insurance plan...we have NO co-pay. Hmmm...something seems wrong if they say we owe money.

Yetto, I was going to suggest leaving a few minutes early as well. But if God is working in your life and asking you to do something...sometimes you need that time at the altar, etc. I think just expressing your concern will be enough for most nurseries!

Yeah, it was about 5 ft. long.

LOL, yep. When it comes to big snakes. If I saw a little green grass snake, though, I wouldn't kill that.

No. Feisty, brave mom's do things like that.

I trap things under glasses or bowls until hubby comes home. We have very few bugs this far north, and in our current home, we have almost none. It's such a blessing. But even still, the semi-annual bug gets trapped for hubby to kill later!

ROFL, of course.

My kids have made me braver, for sure. I think if a bear came on our property (highly unlikely, BTW) I could go out and take it down before it got to my kids. LOL.

Whew...I just need to vent, if that's okay...
I hardly got any sleep last night. For some reason, I was constantly hot. Once I woke up and wiped sweat off of my face. The thermostat was set at 69-70, and then hubby got up and made it cooler for me...I'm not sure what it was set at then...and we had the ceiling fan on... So, that was miserable...then, ds had a bad dream and climbed into bed with us, making it much hotter. I was so hot when it was finally morning outside, I just got up. It was a miserable night...very little sleep.
So, I woke up with a headache and no meds because I had been taking them for my toe. So, I got the kids ready and we went out and got medicine. Since then, we have done hardly nothing except play games and watch old TV shows online. They are not doing great...they seem to be tired too. Ds2 woke up SUPER EARLY for no apparent reason because he went to bed SUPER LATE last night.
My headache is back. My allergies are horrible... I just feel like I've been trampled today.
The good news...I can finally get my shoes on. I can walk somewhat in them...but after a while, I really have to sit down because it hurts too much.
Hubby is going to set up some things for next weekend as part of a birthday gift for me. He will be home later because of it...which is a good thing and a bad thing. I'd really like to have him here to help out with the kids since I'm feeling so bad, but I'm glad that he has a special something in mind.
I have to go cook supper now.
Please pray that the kids will go to sleep early and go down well. I feel like I could go to sleep now and not wake up for days.
Thanks for setting up the thread for Donna, Brian, and the family...

Me too! Lol!
I discovered a 'secret weapon' though for catching things like crickets and cockroaches - of which we have an abundance. I spray them with Dermoblast, which numbs them and I can easily and neatly pick them up in toilet paper (inches thick ) and then dispose of them in the toilet. I *HATE* the crunch when they get squished - so numbing them works for me!

Having my mum here is wonderful! She is such a huge help and is all for Paul and I going out and spending as much time together (with Wes!) as we can while she watches Judah. So right now we're hanging out at a coffee shop. We haven't done this in AGES. So fun.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I definitely believe in taking the least amount of action necessary when it comes to the chain of command. In hind site, I'm sure that they were short handed if there were two younger children supervising rather than an adult. I'm also positive that they were all doing their best, so I'd hate to get anyone in trouble for something that I'm sure could still have happened under my own supervision.

I think I'll mention going to church a little earlier to DH, that way we can mention it as nicely as possible to the nursery worker without other ears around.

I do feel like God is working within our family to make some major changes. So as much as I would like to beat the crowd and pick up DS earlier, I know it's more important for me to put my faith in God that he'll be alright and focus on the message and the time I have in service.

Rachel, you're so brave! Your farm looks so great, too! DH and I are hoping that eventually we'll be able to have a garden and farm, and horses to raise. We're trying to be patient and know that God will provide in His own time, but seeing your pics makes me so excited for the future!

Hillary, I hope the kids go to bed early and give you some r&r!

ROFL!!! That is funny! And humane, I guess.

Thank you! I will pray for you and and your family. Waiting for God's timing is hard, but so worth it in the end. We prayed and waited so long for this little farm and family we have now. And it's not much by a lot of people's standards, but it's so bountiful to us.

Rachel, good news on the insurance!

{{{Hillary}}}

Weeeelllll, we had quite a day. VBS started this morning, and it was fun. I put Biruk on my back and was able to help out with the snacks part just fine, and the boys had a grand time. I also discovered I can get a wireless connection in the church.
But then the fun started. I went to Aldis, and when we got back to the car, it woudln't start. So we had to wait around for AAA. Nice guy came and gave it a jump start, told me we might need a new battery. THen, silly me, instead of going home I decided to stop at McD's to get some Sprite to take to dh at the house, as he's working there today. Wouldn't you know, the van died *in the drive through lane*. I had to ask them for help and I could hear all the workers commenting on the "big *** van" blocking the drive through. A very nice guy helped me push it to the side and jump started it again, and we did get home, just barely...it quite as soon as I pulled into the garage. Clearly something going on more than just a battery issue. So it looks like we're going to miss out on VBS and my poor kiddos are going to be so sad when I tell them.

(((Maggie))) That SUCKS. Sounds like it could be the alternator. Alternator have similar symptoms when pooping out as the battery.
So BTDT. Seriously.

Yup, yup, I've had that happen a couple of times (vehicle dying randomly and while still running). Alternator.

A bad alternator can also kill your battery. I don't know how old your van is, but sometimes it isn't the alternator, just the solonoid switch..but after a while they figured out you could replace that too easily, and began integrating the solonoid into the alternator so that you have to replace the whole shebang. I am glad you got home safely and that God put people in your path to help you!

Prudent, I thought I was the only one who did that!!! Dh definitely thinks that I am the only one who does it. I even blogged about it ages ago!

((Maggie)) I hope whatever is wrong with your van will not be too hard or too expensive to fix!
