And if people don't like it, tell 'em where to go. {{{{{{{{{{Maggie}}}}}}}}}} This is a time where you have to put yourself first and let everybody else just deal.

Ginny, I really like that quote, and it's so very much where I am right now. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thanks all. Jen, I'm trying to do what you advise.

I slept all day today, not getting up till around 7:00 this evening. It was good. My mom brought us meals from Olive Garden. Our neighbour, two doors down, died yesterday or today. In between us is an elderly widow who has been greatly affected by ds3's death. She's living in between two houses of bereavement and frankly, I'd be surprised if she lives to the end of the year.

I can't think of what else to write right now.

Blessings to you all!

That's sad. You might be surprised she might do alright. My mom is 80. She lost her husband of 60 + years of marriage and all around her people are dying. Two neighbor women lost their husbands too. Her best friend suffered a heart attack and is hospitalized. Another woman who doesn't live close by but whom she knows lost her husband. Yet mom keeps on going and has faith in the Lord.

Mom has never read the Word on a regular basis nor much at all. The devotions in the paper was usually all she read but she went to church and it is a good biblical church with good doctrine and teaching and she heard the Word preached and saw and heard faith in action. Mom loves the Lord and she said she tells Him her troubles then she leaves them with Him. She said she doesn't dwell on her cares after she has told them to the Lord. She doesn't analyze stuff. She doesn't question. She acts. Her faith is a simple strong faith.

We're leaving shortly to bury some of ds3's ashes.

Magdaleine, my prayers are with you. I had spoke to you of my loved one who committed suicide named Matthew. He was my nephew. Born before any of my own children, Matthew was more like my son. He was 18 at the time of his death.
I hope you have been blessed with some quiet time today. Please take care of yourself and rest in Him.

Thanks, Melissa. I wondered who Matthew was. That would have been very hard for you.

Quiet time? I had a nap this afternoon and we haven't had company today (yet), so I've been able to dial down on my computer, which has been nice.

Later:
Well, we had some company after all, that just left. I'm tired. Think I'll go to bed.

Thanks, Edith! I have been sleeping a lot. I've decided I will let my body tell me when I need to sleep and when I need to be up. So far, my grieving is showing up only through exhaustion so I'll let it take its course. I keep wondering when the emotional pain will hit me. And then I wonder if it won't. And if it doesn't, is that a good thing or a bad thing. My mind goes all sorts of places.

Dh says he's afraid to be alone. He's trying to be a support to me but he is hurting so much and he doesn't have a whole lot of practice being supportive so I need to get my support elsewhere. Thankfully, I have a lot of support here online and from people physically near so that's good. A woman from church is coming over in about 15 minutes. She wants to do something practical and made a few suggestions. I think I'm going to suggest we go out for tea. It would be good to get out of the house and good to spend time with someone I don't have to take care of. I checked with dh and he has some errands he wants to run so that will work.

The weather has been absolutely beautiful here--temperatures far too warm for November, no snow and mostly bright, clear skies. It's been good.

It was beautiful here today too. I had to call DishNetwork for a problem we were having with our receiver. While we were waiting for my system to reboot, the lady and I were talking about the whether. She said that it was a beautiful day there too. I'm not sure where her office was located though. Last I heard, they were somewhere in Texas. I could've listened to her talk all day, she had a beautiful Irish accent.

Ebay was giving me problems earlier, but I haven't checked since. It is just as well though, it is so easy to bid on stuff that I do not need, want or even good for me!

I've been flirting with the idea of switching from my cable company for phone service and Internet back to mabell instead. While my internet speed would be much slower, it should still be fast enough for what I do and much cheaper too! As far as the TV portion, I could just dump that for Netflix instead.
