Thanks for your prayers, ladies! We had a rough night last night. Dave is feeling a bit better today, but is still not able to be up and around.

I had contractions on and off all night and all day today, so we'll see if this little guy stays put much longer.

Wuhoo! That's how my labour started. I had BH every 5-10 minutes all day on Tuesday, but they went away overnight and then I started getting some light cramps on Wednesday afternoon and then some show that night at around 8 pm. I had Gwen at 1:30 on Thursday afternoon!

Glad Dave is feeling some better!

Please tell me you all worry worry worry about your babies towards the end. I just had hubby pray over me concerning my overwhelming fears about this baby. My reasoning's weren't working. I need help! And prayer! And reassurance.

Kathryn- Praying for you, girl. I hope the Lord gives you peace and contentment in these last few weeks! (((Kathryn)))

Me- 35 weeks today. NST went much quicker than last time, baby was cooperative about giving some accelerations and being active. So that was good. I heard the irregularity quite a bit, but then of course when the doctor came in everything was fine. BP was fine, weight is still about the same, up ~34lbs. Got to have the GBS screen, and she checked me. 1cm dilated, 75% effaced. If only those numbers actually meant something.

Praying for you Kathryn! Does it help to talk out your fears? If so, we are all hear to listen.

Thanks, Kim!

Kathryn, I have worried way more lately than at any other point in my pregnancy. (((hugs)))

Well, I started seeing bloody show this afternoon around 3pm. I had an appt at 6pm- I am only dilated a fingertip and 50% effaced, but the crampy feeling has gotten more intense and is in my back now, as well. My sister arrives here at 10 tomorrow morning, so I'm hoping he waits until then and I can get a good night's sleep!

Yay, Megan!!! Good signs!

Kathryn, yes, I worry sometimes. If I haven't felt baby moving good in a while, I get really nervous. A couple days in the hospital, that happened for a whole day at a time. ((((((((((((((((((((((((Kathryn))))))))))))))))))))) Prayers of peace and a super wiggly baby for you.

I'm worrying a lot, too, though I'm still "early" in the pregnancy. I'm at 20 weeks, and I tried the trick of eating something sweet then lying still for an hour, still nothing, no movement. I maybe feel something once or twice a week, but it's very faint. Much different then with Nathan.

I'll be glad for Friday when I have my appointment and I can hear the heartbeat.

I haven't gotten to the end of a pregnancy yet, but my absolute terror has gone away now that I can feel the baby moving every day. Until that point, I was constantly afraid that I would lose another baby, so it helps that I can feel him now and not have to wait for a sonogram to confirm that he's still OK. When we get closer to the end, I might start panicing again, though

Add me to the 'worry wart" club ! People ask me if I'm afraid of what's to come in labour and I always think to myself not really I'm just more afraid daily that the baby is still alive and that they'll come out alive during the birth ! To complicate my thinking lately is the listeria outbreak we're having up here in Canada, like I had a small piece of cooked ham last week at my friends house for lunch and now I keep wondering "what if" it was tainted !

What I really want to know is how on earth will I be at the top of this list so soon??? I had my 36 week home visit last week and it went well, my MW just discussed the situations in which we would need to transfer to the hospital and what not. I'm slightly worried about my BP, it was 120/80 which is fine in itself I guess but I've also really started to swell up just these past couple weeks and have gained a total of 8 pounds from 3 weeks ago (which puts my total weight gain to date at 40lbs!). Anyway I have my 37 week appointment today so hopefully my BP will be the same if not lower.

I pretty much have everything I need for the home birth and then also have my hospital transfer bag ready just in case. The only thing I really need to get now is more snacks both for the hospital bag and to have on hand for home. I made an applesauce cake yesterday and it turned out so good (go the recipe from AllRecipes.com) that I think I'll make a couple more and freeze them, I think they'll be easy to eat at either place.

I so need to post another belly pic soon! Maybe I'll take on in my swim suit, I really am quite the site. Always get many stares at my aqua-size classes !

Praying for you Megan! And you too Scarlett. The time is getting close, girls!

Worrying- typically I'm not much of a worrier. I just have a more laid back personality. I would say for the first part of pregnancy, I was so shocked that I was actually pregnant that I didn't really believe it. I was honestly just waiting for something to happen, because I knew it couldn't be real anyway. But I loved the idea of our baby. Now though, I've really come to love this baby. I love his/her personality and responses, etc. I don't know if I would say at this point I am worrying more, but I'm obviously much more emotionally vested at this point. I had about 2 hours of worry over the baby's heartbeat thing, but since then I've been ok. Maybe being medical has helped, I'm not sure. Sometimes I worry that I don't worry enough and when I should take something more seriously I won't.

Oh Ladies thank you! While it's not something we are to do, I guess it's normal. I notice the worry isn't as bad when I've had more sleep. My fear is that the baby will die. Why is it that everyone I know has been telling me stories of that happening to someone they know? I don't need to hear that right now. You see, with Nadia I was pretty ambivalent with her, I didn't feel a connection, didn't feel love and while I didn't want her to die, I just didn't really care. That sounds so bad, and I dealt with a lot of guilt as a result. But, this one, I have already fallen in love with. I mean, for real! And it's an answer to prayer. Do you know how hard it is to care for someone that you don't feel love for? It's really hard. But God answered that prayer and I love this little guy. I'm so afraid since I've fallen in love with him, he'll be taken away from me. I know God's not like that. He doesn't do things out of spite.

I had hubby pray for me and it is better. I will make it a point to get to bed earlier, I think it helps with emotions.

As a side point, a great contraction starter is sex and then walking. I've had so many BH contractions this morning, it's not funny. They don't hurt, but still. While I was walking they were like every 8 minutes. He's gotta stay in there for another week!

Question for moms with more than one child:

How do you arrange the car seats in your car once you have your second baby? We have a four door sedan, and right now, dd is in the middle. So, do I put her on one side and the baby on the other? Or do I put her on one side and the baby in the middle? Which side should which child go on? I'm probably over-thinking the whole thing....

Kathryn - I'm sorry about the worried thoughts that keep popping up I get them occasionally too, but not as bad as with my first pregnancy. I think Hannah is keeping me too distracted to think about it. And once she's asleep, I'm too tired to think about anything, lol!

I've got 6 1/2 more weeks.... My birth kit is on the way, I have all the newborn stuff in the dryer now, and I have a list of things I still need to do or get. Not too much left - just things I want cleaned or things I still need to buy, like plastic sheeting to cover all the carpet. Oh, and I need to wash all the newborn diapers so they're fresh and ready to be used

lol....two isn't a problem, but five...lol. You should have seen us trying to figure that one out. We measured all our seats widths, figured out who could or couldn't fit the weight/height requirements of each seat, had to take into account certain kids have to sit certain places (because of needing to be buckled in or because of getting car sick in the other seats), etc. It was a fun fun day....lol.
with two though, we put one by each side door (because putting the littlest in the middle...safest place...wouldn't work because it wouldn't fit)

Scarlett - I understand completely. I had a subway sub (they use the meat that was tainted) 2 weeks ago and now I can't stop worrying. Health Canada put out a warning that pregnant women should not eat produced meat of any kind. Sigh... How are we supposed to know anything, the bacteria can lay dormant for up to 90 days...

I'm so glad that worrying about my baby is normal. After my scare with the heartbeat I keep wondering if that little heart is still beating. I can't wait for my next appointment and ultrasound. Knowing everything is ok is such a blessing and so reassuring.

So...want to know how crazy we are? With school starting on Tuesday (I'm teaching grade 2/3 fulltime) and being pregnant we thought we would add to the stress and bought our first house this week. Move in day is October 24. I'm very excited, but also worried. I know I'm going to be completely exhausted by the end of each school day. I have no idea how I'm going to get all my marking and paper work done and pack a house at the same time. My mom is coming in the middle of October to help, but this is nuts! I need your prayers!

Why oh why do women worry? Grief. So Sarah, Donna, do you stop worrying by the time you have the number of kids you do? Or is your worry worse and you just go crazy?

Really? Oh great. Is worry a part of our femaleness? It seems like my husband doesn't ever worry.

LOL...I tend to think so...part of that "woman's intuition"...if you didn't worry then you wouldn't have that. I heard someone say once, that is the true curse put on women in the garden...lol

One kid by each door. When you have more than one kid, you can't have every kid in "the safest spot in the car". You just have to buckle them in and trust God. BTW, I am not convinced there is a safest spot in the car...in many cars, the car seat doesn't fit the best in the middle seat, so it's not the safest anyway.

We're already crazy. Seriously, you just have to learn what to let go and what is important. And yes, sometimes worry still overwhelms me (um...like every time I see a tractor lately ). It's a constant giving it to God, IME.

If anyone doesn't read in "my" thread...I'm going to the hospital to start cervadil tonight and pit in the morning. Woohoo!

Yay Donna! Not long now

Thanks Sarah and Donna for advice on the carseats! Did you put the baby on your right hand side behind the passenger seat so that they were easier to see, and the older directly behind you?

hmmmm....you are making me think too far back....lol. I tend to put the baby on my side (we had a van when our second was born).
right now in our van we have.....(two sliding doors)....the bench seat in the middle is scooted over to the passenger side door so that when the kids get in/out it's through the drivers side door. Makes it easier when I have them all alone. Justice is on the passenger side, middle bench, Jake beside him. The back bench is Jack and Emma on the sides, Hannah in the middle
