I only heard of that on a Steve Geyer bit. Otherwise I would have never thought at all.

Ok, here is another one, anyone remember Crazy Straw at all? The thing would always end up knocking over your drink!

That makes me think of the homemade popsicles that Mom made.
Koolaid, ice tray and toothpicks.

Boy were they good!

I remember stuff we used to use called Pssst. You sprayed it in your hair when you didn't have time to wash it and then brushed your hair. It was supposed to make it look clean when it wasn't. It didn't stay on the market long.

Now I never heard of that one at all, but that is ok.

Anyone remember Simon the electronic game? That was at the tale end of the 70's, maybe the way beginning of 1980 instead.

I wasn't born in the 70s, but if I were, I would've probably rocked an awesome mullet.

Awesome mullet? Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

I remember that!
It felt like baby powder in your hair...real tacky feeling.

When you can remember where you were when Elvis died.

Sight seeing in Oregon. It was the second day of a family vacation on our way up to Washington. We stopped in Oregon for a few days because my uncle's family (my dads BIL) owned a campground there and my aunt, uncle and their kids went camping there. We got to stay for free because they considered us to be family too. I was either 11 or 12. I think it was '77 so that would've made me 12.

Tupperware had awesome Popsicle trays for Koolaid Popsicles.

If you saved enough Koolaid wrappers and mailed them in, you could get a Koolaid cup! I loved mine! Unfortunately, the dishwasher didn't.

It was definitely '77. It happened a couple of days before I quit my high school job and started my freshman year of college.

What about those clackers? Two gigantic marbles attached together with piece of rope with a ring in the middle. Which child-hating adult came up with that idea as a toy????

My Mom always grabbed whatever weapon was closest - unfortunately for me it was usually my brother's hot wheel tracks - they really hurt!!! The spatula was the worst, tho.

I found that the fly swatter or Dads' razor strop was quite the reminder as well to not do whatever I was doing again.

... you remember prices being this cheap...

1970 Prices:

Average Income:       $9,357.00

New Car:                  $3,979.00

New House:             $23,400.00

Loaf of Bread:                    .24

Gallon of Gas:                    .36

Gallon of Milk:                 $1.32

(That was also the year the U.S. changed the voting age from 21 to 18.)

..you can sing along with all of the background songs on commercials--they are the songs we listened to on the radio.

..you know how to use that little adapter that popped into the middle of a 45 so it would fit on the spindle of the turntable of your stero.

..you remember when Count Chocula was a new cereal
