Looking for someone, that kindred spirit, who will be concerned for your welfare? who is not seeking after their own interests, but those of Christ Jesus?
You've come to the right place! This thread is designed to be that place where we can share the concerns that are on our hearts and receive loving, godly encouragement and counsel.
What does love look like?
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, it does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
I Corinthians 13:4-8a
We want the word of Christ to dwell richly in us and in you, so much of our encouragement will be with His words. And we want to be found encouraging one another all the more as we see the day of Jesus' return approaching!
Please try and be a good listener and respond to those who have shared a need and also try to avoid responses that are too lengthy so we don't miss what you have to share. We are blessed to be a blessing.

I am so grateful this thread has started! Do you think it will be alright also, if we request prayer from one another, as we face difficult situtations that would tempt us to be unloving?

Yesterday we went to see my mother who is 82 and in the hospital because of a fall she had nearly three weeks ago. We traveled for three hours; My husband, myself, my son, my two daughters and my oldest daughters fiance. My mother did not break any bones from her fall, but she has an infection in her colon, a urinary tract infection, cdiff(a hospital acquired infection) and dementia. When we arrived she was calling for my younger sister, and thought she was at home. As we spent time with her she became more aware and we were able to have a nice visit with her. It was so hard to leave her as she wanted to get out of the bed and sit in the chair. I had asked the nurses if they could move her to the chair, but they said that they were changing shifts and it would be up to the incoming shift to make that decision. Well, it was late and since we had such a long drive back and some of us had to work the next day, when we left, she was still lying in the bed. Also because of the infection we could not kisss her good-bye, but had to blow her kisses. The whole visit just made me appreciate the gift of life. My mother was married at 16, had five children, was married for nearly 60 years when my father passed away and as I saw her laying in that hospital bed, so helpless yesterday I realized how fast our life on this earth is over. My older sister has given up! She used to be in charge of my mothers care, but is in such a deep depression that she hasn't even been over to see my mother since she was admitted to the hospital. My younger sister is trying to take over to make arrangement for my mother to go into rehab, but my older sister won't cooperate to help her to get the necessary papers together. My brother, who has been living with my mother is 42 years old and has made a total wreck of his life; drugs, alcohol, and an accident which has left him with brain damage so that he is unable to work. He gets 700.00 a month disability. There are so many lives involved that need God's grace and mercy. None of my family are Christians. Please pray for God to intervene. I have the assurance of God's promises, but the rest of my family doesn't and its so hard to know what to say to them. I am especially concerned about my older sister. We have always been so close and now she does't even want to talk to me. I appreciate any prayers and support.

I would appreciate if anyone could post any encouraging Scriptures regarding the following:
Someone I love dearly is possibly being set up by a large agency body. I cannot say any more than this obviously but I would appreciate Scripture and prayer support please for 'X' (the Lord knows who they are).

I do understand about your concern for your mom, as I care for my mom (also 82) who is not doing well.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I would be happy to pray for your family.
Dear Father, I lift up saraha98's whole family to You. Father draw each one of them to Yourself, that they may find salvation. Send believers across they're paths to tell them about You and Your love for them. Thank You Lord for saraha98's wittness to them. Watch over and care for her mom, and help work everything out for the best for her care. We love You, and thank You, and praise You Lord. In Jesus name. Amen

For "saraha98" I would pray this verse from Joshua 1:9. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Dealing with issues that involve our elderly can be extremely hard and we are in need of prayer and God`s wisdom concerning the decisions we are forced to make.
Concerning the one that may be in danger from a large agency body we pray these verses from Ps.91:14-16. "Because he loves Me, says the LORD, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation."

I'm thankful we have a BIG God and that nothing is impossible for Him! Sometimes our circumstances can feel like they are overwhelming and then I just remind myself that He is able!
My psalm for today is the perfect one for you. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear. . . Ps 46:1-2a.
The psalm goes on to describe cataclysmic change but continues to remind us that God is in the midst of it all to help! Hallelujah! He is with you and working FOR you.

I'm totally ignorant regarding what this prayer need is---the terminology is foreign to me. But God knows so I will just ask Him to be a refuge for you and your loved one and provide the strength that you need at this time as well. And an additional reminder from my psalm today---Cease striving and know that I am God. Ps 46:10a That's a wonderful knowing, isn't it? Bless ya, LL

I work in a skilled nursing facility so I see a lot of what you are talking about. Others have posted wonderful Scripture so I won't add to it. Know that your family will be in my prayers.

Well can I ask for encouragement? I hate to ask, but I am sick, with something to do with red-blood cells., look like the walking dead, very pale and tired, trying to be myself, but my energy is gone. Something scriptural would be good, I am sorry to ask, it is hard to ask for myself. Thank You.

I know the place you are in. It is hard when we are dealing with physical, health stuff. I am in that place right now as well. So I will encourage you with the words the Lord used to encourage me today. From Psalm 46:
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear. . . v1,2a
I can easily go down the 'fear path'. But His word is that HE IS PRESENT so DO NOT FEAR. HE WILL BE OUR REFUGE AND OUR STRENGTH.
The psalm goes on to describe the dwelling place of God which is you and me. And He makes glad His dwelling place. He's in our midst. We will not be moved. He will help us!
That's His word to us. So I'm believing it with you and for you, dear sister! Be encouraged! The Lord of hosts is WITH US! He has a STRONG HOLD on us. And He won't let us go! I say a hearty AMEN to that. Bless you, LL

but God is soooo good. He, by His divine workings on my heart, has been moving me from revenge/bitter mode to prayer/forgiveness and waiting on Him.
