ORIGINAL: faroukfarouk Leave the thread alone? well, sounds good I guess, if ppl just stop using it. Take care. farouk - people often say take care as in good bye. your post seemed to imply since morality wasn't going to be discussed, you were leaving. i wasn't asking you to leave. Not sure I was implying that but, hey, if a mod person wants to close down the thread, then that's okay by me. I guess take care is a North American variety of expressing a period "." (Even here in Canada.....) "."

RE: the suggestion for people to show off photos of their ink...I'm all for it. I can make a photo album with the pics I have of mine, if anyone is interested. And I'm always interested in seeing what other people have, who did it, etc.

Thanks. The one on my toe wasn't bad at all and it was so small that it only took about 10 minutes. I've heard a lot of people say their toes hurt a lot, but I didn't find that to be true.

The geisha? Is that new? I don't remember it from your initial myspace photos...I still say you should do something like this, only with this...

ORIGINAL: Mrs.Wifey I have not ventured much into the world of tattoos, I figure I'll finish having babies first and figure out where everything is going to settle However, I am having the celtic symbol for "Mother's Love" done on top of my right foot this week. I hesitated at first about celtic symbols, but this one isn't related to any of their god's so I feel ok and excited about it! I've long wanted to get some Celtic knotwork--I know how to draw them--but where? And who? Some artists won't do the more intricate designs because they're too easy to mess up. Oh wait, you said foot...maybe I could put something on my feet. Worth thinking about. quote:
As far as piercings, I'm pretty dull. I had my belly button done twice, found I have a metal allergy to stainless steel so I need titanium, but there is so much scar tissue there that I don't think I will bother again. Oh, and I have 2 piercings in each ear. Metal allergies are a pain. I've known several people who had the exact same problem. And the belly button takes soooooo long to heal it's hard to know if pain, swelling, etc. are from jewelry rejection or just part of the healing process. And frankly, (this doesn't necessarily apply to you) I've seen a lot of poorly pierced belly buttons the last few years. A poorly-placed navel is basically a surface piercing and surface piercings are done with the knowledge that they will reject. A navel piercing should be fairly deep and come out beneath the upper flap of the navel.

I agree. It's worth every penny to pay for a tattoo from a really good artist, when you come across one. And let me take this opportunity to yell: NO FLASH!!!

Oh yeah...didn't you get one miasma? Or did you have the design done and are now awaiting getting the actual ink? You should post yours, too.

Raises hand- Has seen the photos of miasma's tattoo, it is awesome. I love the way it wraps around her arm. I will confess that I have zero tattoos and only ever had my ears done two and a half times. As I have aged a sensitivity to nickel has gotten worse and worse to the point where even the nickel free stuff bothers me. (nickel free doesn't always mean 100% absence of the stuff) One set was a cartilage piercing up high on my ear. I did have a third one put in on the one side because they charged the same for one earring as they did for two and I was having my eldest's left ear redone. Any rate that is long past. I can only wear in the bottom holes now and then only for a couple of hours before my earlobes get swollen and red. I popped in here after clicking a link in Stella's sig. High school is decades behind me but I was always a loaner that hung out with the group that might have been called "goth" if there was such a thing in the hillbilly land I spent my Highschool years in. I was in my own underground category I guess. Dressing strangely to shock folks. Never breaking any dress codes but some of the stuff I did wear pushed the line. Guess you could say I have grown into a boring adult if you don't count the artsy stuff and the real love of edgy hard Christian rock. Black slacks and a blouse or nice knit T is about all you get from me anymore- I *gasp* even wear an APRON when I work in the dark room and *DOUBLE GASP* Keep a spare set of clothes in my locker- Oooo yeah black slacks and a nice knit T shirt- though I did buck the system and wore a Hostess Kilt and sash to the officers Ball this year. Talk about some looks. As for my kids. We say ears only. we don't say that it is negotiable, I would agree that some teens do not take proper care of them and would have to say this would be a child by child thing. (we have 6 children- I think most of you know that but... better safe than sorry) Hair- it grows out. The girls have both done temporary colors. they have had purple and red and pink. Triss currently has some bleached chunks done. They were pink, but it washed out. When Triss did the purple I did a bit around my face and got some serious sideways looks. Triss usually does a temp color each summer. I think I have her turned onto the kool-aid coloring. cheap and temporary. It should look NICE on her chunks. ~ezri
