Many Americans think Obama is what? Something evil that means the second coming is rapidly approaching...

Believe me, Obama has NOTHING on Nick Griffin.

Manda, anyone in the UK, did you happen to watch HIGNFY last night? It was interesting to see their response to Question Time. I'm curious to know whether more will be said in the extended version.

I think that just has to be the understatement of the century!!

Yes their response was interesting. I can't watch/record the extended version tonight as I will already be recording Casualty (and watching X Factor), so please do let me know!!

I'm recording it tonight (though I may also watch it after Casualty) but will be sure to let you know...

I've spent the day playing with my new phones. Bought them (they were a set) yesterday as my old one (which doubled as my answermachine) was no longer working. The new phones are cool because I can access the answermachine from either ~ and I only needed to add phone numbers to one phone for them both to have them...

I'm thinking the only thing I'll have to do tomorrow is switch the time as the clocks are changing...

And the only other thing I've been doing is making an oxtail casserole. I had to go out because I couldn't find the tamarind paste that I bought for it the other day. Came home and within 5 minutes of being back in the house, found it!

I remembered that HIGNFY is recorded on a Thursday, so it would have been recorded before or while Question Time was on air. I don't know if it will get a mention next week...

I don't doubt that Obama has nothing on a UK politician....you all have had politics a lot longer than we have...so the bad ones have had plenty of time to hone their evil skills.......

Sadly, this one seems to have adopted both American and Nazi German policies (he's only recently, and I believe, grudgingly, accepted that the Holocaust (a) actually happened and (b) occured) and says the KKK are a 'non-violent organisation' (though I am waiting for him to deny he said this)...

Onto a lighter note... my fingers taste of chilli, onions, garlic, lemon grass, ginger and Thai fish sauce (there may be some sake on them too)... for some reason, I can't get the taste off them today...

Oh yeah... for all you Marmite lovers... it's supposed to help cure baldness...

Are Brits 4 hours ahead or 6 hours ahead of the eastern US now?

It took me a while to figure out how to navigate that site, and to figure out that you're four hours later than the eastern US and your temp is one degree cooler than IN.

I suspect that if he heard that, he'd claim that he was being victimised...

Sigh... as I said, Obama has nothing on him...

Doink, are you still reading this thread? I thought of you the other day... I was buying some fabric dye and there was a pink (no, I didn't buy that one) that was called 'Flamingo Pink' with a flamingo on it (I think, that could be an over-active imagination though! )...

Nope (link)... not an over-active imagination (this time!)...

For all you Marmite fans...

Marmite are introducing a Marmite cereal bar... only available in Morrisons. Bah humbug... don't they know how hard it is for me to get to a Morrisons store?

Tell me about it! Peach Lift is ONLY sold at Asda and Morrisons. Thankfully we have an Asda 10 miles away (though that's bad enough), but as for the nearest Morrisons, I wouldn't have a clue!

I actually just checked on the Morrisons site... there's a branch about a mile from where I see my psychologist, but it's not what you call easy to get to (ie I'd be walking along busy roads, no pavement, which isn't something I fancy)... There's another branch on the way into Bath, but I rarely go there because of it's location...

Maybe when I know one of them actually has the bars, I'll make a one-off trip... or find someone who goes there...

Oh... I did hear the comment that they should introduce a Marmite-flavoured vegemite...

"new" use for marmite.....a small bit of it (less than 1/16 tsp) helps to ease morning sickness........

lol

A friend of ours just sent us some vegemite...so we are going to have a taste comparison tonight.....I know that the thicker consistancy of the vegemite (more like peanut butter than honey) is appealing...less messy , but since I like honey....the consistancy of marmite hasn't been a real issue either.

It seems to work for me...at least so far.....

I think it is the same premise as eating a cracker...the sodium helps settle the tummy.....and the b vitamins can't hurt!

Vegemite has been used to treat leg ulcers, abrasions etc. Just spread a little on the sore like you would a topical ointment and apply the dressings. it's the dinky di truth!

I just saw HRH Prince Edward being interviewed on the telly. He is here in Oz for the Duke of Edinborough Awards.
What a delightful man he seems.
Does he get to represent the Crown very often?

I was tempted to cancel our usual order for Christmas turkey from the local store, but decided to 'chicken out'. When I phoned them, they thought that I was 'hamming it up'! So, I got into an arguement with the assistant who thought that there was something 'fishy' going on. But now that I have cooled down, I am as meek as a 'lamb'.

Well, we've all got to 'beef' about something!!
