ORIGINAL: fly0950 Well I went in for my appointment and I was kinda surprised by my doctors response. She is recommending that I take Clomid. I told her about the bleeding, etc. Then she asked if we wanted to get pregnant and I said we did. So she said well lets do Clomid. I guess by helping ovulation it will help stop the bleeding. She is concerned about my bleeding but she doesn't want to put me on BC because we want to TTC.....plus BC tends to make me anxious. So ya, interesting. I thought she would put me on BC but I guess not. So here we go... To me personally that would be a red flag of a bad doctor...or rather a doctor that wasn't really interested in treating the CAUSE of the bleeding. I went through 4 doctors before I found one that finally looked at my charts and said, "Oh yeah, you've got PCOS, we'll run some tests, but that's what I believe you have based on your charting.". One of the original 4 that I saw in CA put me on Clomid. It did absolutely nothing for me, since it didn't address the PCOS. I was annovulatory because of the PCOS and no amount of Clomid was going to help me get pg. I would personally want the blood tests (hormone, etc. for PCOS) run and if my doctor wasn't willing to do that or wanted to just prescribe some Clomid without finding the underlying cause of the extreme bleeding then I'd be finding a new doctor. Incidentally, another red flag of a 'fertility specialist' that isn't well versed in ACTUAL causes of infertility, would be her desire to just slap the hormonal band aid of the Pill on the situation. The Pill is a bandaid...it doesn't actually treat the underlying causes of PCOS, but rather, for some women (never for me) can regulate their hormones sufficiently for a time (usually a short period of time) which can enable them to get pregnant. Did you see a Reproductive Endocrinologist or just a regular OB/Gyn that 'specializes' in infertility?

Good idea! I charted for about year before we started TTC, mainly for birth control, but I charted several months before the wedding in order to have a good idea of my body's patterns for when the time came. You'll thank yourself for it!

So I had a huge temperature spike this morning, and I think I ovulated last night. I guess only time will tell. My temps have been a little whacky compared to last month's temps. I normally spend at least a few days at my normal temp of 96.4, but I've only had one day below 97 this cycle. Has anyone ever seen such a large variance in temps from one month to the next? Here is my CHART
