We're getting married in July! He wanted to marry this summer, which is sooner than I originally thought, but that's fine with me, so we decided on July 12th. Sounds soon to most people, but it is actually within our ideal length of engagement (4-6 months) with it being nearly 4 months to the day he proposed!

Yay!

::

Ok instead of favors, I think I may do a candy buffet. I'll have either favor boxes or bags and then the guests just go up to the buffet and fill them. I may do a variety of things rather than just all candy. What do you think?

I was actually thinking about doing that myself Trish, I seen these cute little Jars that you could fill with w.e. candy you wanted, I thought it would be great idea that way people could choose candy they like instead a box filled with chocolate or something lol

Or the other idea I have is purse hangers for the ladies and candy for the men.

Welcome RH! The more the merrier! Congrats to you. The m&m idea sounds great!

So I went to get more materials for my centerpiece. I think it's going to look great. Silk cherry blossoms in a tall, square glass vase with marbles and satin ribbon to dress it up. You'll see of course in my pics.

BTW, anyone planning on posting pics online? We should share them between us!

Wow that's comin up quick! We would love to hear about all of your details but I know it's hard being that it's just around the corner and all. I think I'll go copy and paste the list from the older thread and post it here.

::

So yesterday I FINALLY started working out again and today I have an appt. with a trainer. I hope to lose about 2 inches in the main spots...bust area, waist and hips. That's about how much I should lose to fit the dress. lol Some people think it's strange that I purposely got a size too small but you know what, if I didn't do that I don't think I would even try to push myself to lose period. The gym faces the beach and my DF got me an iPod Shuffle for my b-day so I am all set! lol

Ok, so I had my workout and I my midsection is sore! lol Good sign that I put effort into it. The just 5 or 6 moves the trainer showed me for my tummy and back was apparently enough. Good stuff she showed me. Very Pilates like, which I love by the way. I wonder how long it would take for me to recooperate before I can go back. lol. I guess I can still do some cardio on the treadmill in the meantime. My core needs to rest though.

Ok Trishy, go find that old thread and get that table on contents in here!

Very nice Sharon.

My bouquet will be pink cymbedium (sp?) orchids with a mix of pink and cream roses. John and his best man will wear a maile lei and my mom and Aunt will wear a rose corsage. There's no such thing as fresh cherry blossoms that time of the year so the cherry blossoms will be the silk ones for the centerpieces.

Fun! House shopping.

I'm already seeing results from my workouts and it's just been three times. I may just have to take that dress in if I keep this up. But my core section should be ready to get burning again. Woo hoo!

Arrrgh. It's impossible to come up with a wedding date to suit all of our guests, namely my family - his seem to have no problem with whatever day we choose. How awkward would it be to have 6 family guests on my side and more than 20 on his? I don't know if we should stick to July 19th or push it back even further to accommodate my relatives.

That's a tough one. Don't feel bad though cause for us, no one on his side of the family are able to attend ours due to financial reasons. Both his parents passed away too. We are going to see the majority of his siblings and family when we go on our honeymoon (which will be in his home state) but none of them can fly out here. I say be in prayer about the date and if that's what the L-rd shows you then go for it. You can always send pics. Ha.

Trish thats great, I got up and worked out this morning...so now I just gotta stick with it.

Neva, I haven't even begin to set a date yet, but like Trish said pray about it and sometimes you cant please everyone, and you can always have it recorded so you could show them it and take lots a pictures for the ones who couldn't make it.

Maybe you could decide based on the family members most important to you coming? If it really doesn't matter if Great Aunt Irma comes, then don't pick a date just for her.

Almost none of my family came to my wedding. Most didn't even bother to send me back the RSVP card with "no" checked. Probably the only way I could have got them to come would have been to have the wedding where most of them lived, regardless of the date.

Hello, everyone! I hope it's all right if I just sort of jump in here - I tend to do more lurking than posting, but was excited to see there's a new wedding thread, because I'm getting married in a month! May 9th is our date.

We had a lot of issues with our guest list too, and thankfully all we have to do now is wait for the RSVP's. What worked for us was to try and accommodate as many people as possible, but also to draw a line somewhere and stick to it. We couldn't invite more than 100 guests, mostly for financial reasons, but everyone we weren't able to invite was very understanding.
