I had my 6 week check up today and left really disappointed. I'm doing good, but I'm still not healed. I still have an area that isn't healed - it's inflamed - and has no stitches because my stitches loosened. She gave me another two weeks and told me to go back in if it still doesn't feel right. It honestly feels FINE until she touched it/gave me that exam. I felt the stitches. It wasn't fun. I was really hoping to get a 'clean bill of health' and go back to everything being regular. BUT there is no infection and it'll heal eventually. She also talked to me about BC. I don't know what to do. I honestly don't want to use anything because my body seriously hates any of that stuff. I'm allergic or irritated or my body flips out if I take any of it. She recommended the IUD or the depo shot. I don't want to stick anything inside of me that'll prevent pregnancy like that - and I have no idea how my body would respond. And, I've heard tons of horror stories about the depo. But, I don't want to get pregnant right away either. It's kind of overwhelming. Right now I pretty much feel a peace about doing nothing, but the looks and comments I get when I say that are pretty... well, critical. They all tell me I'll end up pregnant within a year if I do that. I wish NFP worked well when you breast feed. lol Did she stitch it up again, Jae?? About the BC...you and Jason need to pray and decide together. But know that if you had problems on the pill (can't remember...), you're likely to have problems with the depo also and you'll just have to deal with them until it's out of your system. Also, the depo can dry up your milk. And IUDs are definitely abortificant...part of their purpose is to irritate the uterine lining so that if an egg does get fertilized, it has nowhere to stick.[:(] Have you thought of some combination of condoms, spermicide, and FAM (fertility awareness method...being aware of your fertility signs and using something when appropriate...won't work well until your period is back though)? Overall...pray and do your research. How are our other new Mommies doing?
