Greetings! 
In an effort to post current news and odd news and not to seem to be blogging in CURRENT EVENTS, admin & I have worked out a system for my posting news articles and or links in this area.
I will still however of course join in the discussions and debates that go on in other areas of CROSSWALK.
I literally have received many positive comments on my posts & others want info on where I get my material, check my postings before they finish their a.m. breakfast & have been an encouragement in prayer for a need in my signature...Thank you!
Let me briefly try to explain (Readers Digest version) of the 5 Ws of my interest in news & politics:
My interest in the news fellow members goes back to when @ about 12 my neighborhood friends put out a neighborhood newspaper & I was the editor; it went on to college after a hanging judge released me from jail to attend college (a miracle as a high school drop-out, who had all of their assets taken in a drug raid) & students elected me editor-in-chief of the official campus newspaper, and later the campus music publication that was closed down by admin. & led to an ACLU federal lawsuit in which we prevailed (back in my liberal days).
Also on that campus I was selected as News Director of it's 5,000 watt FM radio station and even as a college student out-scooped the major media on several stories.
I later did news reporting for NY-NJ's WBAI-FM (super lib) & The Pacifica Radio Network.
The student lawsuit made us front page news which led to an advertising manager job at the liberal VILLAGE VOICE, where I was an active union member & did research or gave some occassional input on news stories.
As for politics I have been before becoming a conservative after 9/11, been linked to many left wing causes, as my FBI/CIA Freedom Of Information File attests to.
Grew up in an immigrant (legal) family that were active in local democratic politics, even as a pre-teen was going door-to-door w/ election handouts, went to dem barbeques, met many govt. officials and as an adult even received write-in votes for borough council.
I was active in the anti Vietnam war movement even though young & @ 17 served as NJ's youngest McGovern campaign coordinator for 2 NJ towns (wasn't a policy maker or anything but coordinated the volunteers, all older than me). Was arrested during the famous DC Mayday Demonstrations & bailed out by the Black Panthers.
I served as a volunteer several xs in several states on behalf of migrant worker rights & was a volunteer to Cesar Chavez in media matters, the late great Chicano labor leader.
When married my wife & even daughter participated in enviornmental, anti-nuke, pro-labor union, pro ERA activities & I was an original founding board member on Pete Seeger's NJ Clearwater board.
I also led a union drive at the nation's largest shelter for runaway and throw-a-way kids, was unfairly fired and again prevailed in a federal lawsuit (had several, never lost).
I could go on & on dear breathern but am pointing this out so that others may see how I became a news hound & a citizen very interested in politics.
Although I'm no longer involved in journalism (for many years, hence my writing is rusty) & am not an expert on politics, I hope to share stories that might interest you.
Let's see how all of this pans out..wish me luck.

State Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha sued God last week, seeking a permanent injunction against the Almighty for making terroristic threats, inspiring fear and causing "widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants."

Ok, yes there's many serious stories out there today, the little creep in NYC wanting to visit Ground Zero, Iraq, The Jena 6, & the Al Gore crowd warning of ensuing floods, etc., and as you can see I've been involved & successful in several civil lawsuits.
Not so successful in my pre-college crime trials  ....
But this is both frivelous & crazy.
Does anyone really think the anti-God paperwork went poof ????? Was it God, a person looking for 15 mins. of fame or was it David Blaine just passing through there ????

But at $25 per membership (the current rate is $35), that would mean that in 2004, CAIR only had 4,761 dues-paying members – less than 5,000 members out of 8 million Muslims in America. This would mean that CAIR only represents 1 out of every 1,680 Muslims. Even if a lower 6 million Muslim population figure were assumed, CAIR would still only be able to claim representation for 1 out of every 1,260 Muslims for that year.

Ok-The Washington Times this summer reported membership was more like 1700. So then was does the drive-by media listen to every word they say or parrot from their terror links ????1700 can't even fill a good sized hotel ball room.

He's coming to New York.I can't believe it.
Six years into our "war on terrorism," Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a strategic ally of al-Qaida, is flying into New York to speak at the United Nations.
Much of the controversy over this trip has focused on whether his request to visit Ground Zero should be honored. That, to me, is a distraction from the real issue – should he be allowed to visit New York under any circumstances, and, if he is, what should be done with him when he arrives.

I agree w/ what we might do & as a NYer has my blessings.
WMCA & a sister station affiliated w/ Crosswalk has asked it's NY-NJ listeners to go to a demonstration Monday @ 9:30 am on Liberty Street, downtown Manhattan. It was a quick psa so area fans might want to tune in to get more details if needed.
This is in addition to whatever Columbia students (students, not faculty) may have planned.

The news is varied today w/ the talk in NYC mainly around the visit by the lil' shrimp from Iran & the demos=traffic jams.
The footbath thing is one issue, but in Brooklyn we still have the nuisance of a muslim school that just opened & our questions going unanswered.
The Betray-us ad & the anti-jewish video & lyrics makes you want to shower after reading about them.
And, Rudy- seems like the newest wife keeps him on a short leash..the evangelicals doen't seem to make the mayor'smarital problems of years ago shy away from him & it still may be a NY triple threat match..Clinton vs. Rudy vs. Mayor Mike

In NYC it's been reported that people have already been protesting @ the UN, the reference to 40 was not the attendance..but many of NY's state & local officials. Sadly, it's also reported that as Columbia students put up signs inviting students and others to a rally, the signs are being torn down by some kooks.
On the stories below I agree w/ Bush-Hell-ary will win the nomination & surprisingly I will say (esp. note this is not the 1st time I complimented my jr. senator) she was superb w/ Mike Wallace today..absolutely superb.
As for cutting the troops at the border more of a series of Bush blunders.
And yes Romney is a RINO & does more flipping than John Kerry on issues or John Edwards flipping his hair!
