I was taught the following: "The Christian flag never dips to any other flag. It may properly dip to the altar Cross." That being said, do you know if it is proper for the Christian flag be flown at half staff because the US flag is at half staff? I saw both flying at half staff outside a Baptist church today and wondered. Thanks, JF

My flag is up..and has been since Sept. 11,2001. I have replaced it when it got torn or ratty looking. Even got my husband to shine a spot light on it, so it can blow in the breeze during the evening hours. But thanks for the reminder "Santa"

I think a better way to remember September 11 is to fly the flag specifically designed to commemorate the event and people involved, The Freedom Flag. LINK A LINK to the explantion of the design. Snippet from the website: One Citizen’s Difference The Freedom Flag was created in Richmond, Virginia on September 20, 2001, not as a replacement for the American Flag, but as one citizen’s way of ensuring that we would “never forget” the events of September 11th. Two years later the Freedom Flag became a part of Virginia history when Governor Mark R. Warner designated it as the state’s official symbol of remembrance honoring the victims and heroes of 9/11. Raising the Freedom Flag has become part of the traditional Patriot Day observation at schools within the Commonwealth and beyond. This past September 11th, over 1700 schools representing almost three quarters of a million students participated in this memorial event. The Education Connection The response by students and educators toward this simple symbol has been overwhelming. In fact, it was the educational community’s positive response that helped to formulate the purpose and direction of The Freedom Flag Foundation. In the fall of 2002, the student leadership of the Virginia Student Councils Association elected to embrace the Freedom Flag and make it part of their educational experience. Several weeks later, the Freedom Flag Project was introduced in a speech at Dickinson University during a flag presentation ceremony. The Freedom Flag Project calls for schools to formalize an annual tradition of raising and flying the Freedom Flag below the American Flag on September 11th, creating a unique reminder to future generations of the victims, heroes, and survivors of that day.
