I get so tired of the criticism that a show or movie looks "dated" or "aged", well of course it has. The original BSG was only aired about thirty years ago! And it was a product of the time it was made.

I personally have very fond memories of the original BSG, and will still watch it when it's aired today. In many cases, I might even prefer the optimism of the original over the dark setting of the remake.

Oh, and it was series creator Glen Larson that introduced the Mormon element into the original series.

To me, there is room for both BSGs.....just two different ways of telling the same story.....

I think the new BSG is just reflecting the times. Hollywood does that. I mean, you know the whole uncertainty of terrorism, economy, war in Iraq, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the writers and producers for the new BSG took what is going around in the world and decided to make a darker BSG to reflect the reality of uncertainty in the world. I like the edgier and darker tone of the remake, it is more realistic and I think that's what the creators were going for when they made the remake.

I just watched Razor. I enjoyed having some holes in the story line filled in. Watching the attack on the fleet in spacedock made me think of Pearl Harbor.

Razor was awesome. I like the way it portrayed Admiral Cain in it not to mention that it added that nice little twist in there about the Cylons.

Last night's show was good. The cylon models are all forming camps so I can't wait to learn more about that. It's interesting to see how some of the cylon human models view themselves as of higher intelligence and that the radiers and centurions are just the grunts. Wasn't that the whole premise for the human-cylon war? The cylon machines rebelled against humanity because they were pretty much just the worker bees/slaves for humanity. Somewhat ironic, and I like how the creators are making the cylons more "human", with flaws and not just machines.

Yes, I think the cylon civil war will be pretty interesting, indeed.

I'm a big fan of the Roslin/Adama relationship, but ouch! That scene in their quarters was difficult to watch, though brilliantly acted. Their emotional intimacy is astounding, but man, can they hurt each other like no else or what?

Of course that was the point of the first war, which is why they introduce it here. It follows the concept of "history repeats itself", and since the cylons claim to be children of humans then the children make the mistakes of their fathers. That is why I love this whole series because it dives into the "what if's" of moral obligation of creating an artificial life form.

It would be an interesting storyline to see how the original Cylons got into making the cyborg type of cylon.

Quantum Leap "showing age"? Please, it was a fantastic show and was on until the mid-90s. It's not that old! There's no age to show. Yet. LOL.

My mind is working O.T. trying to figure out how the final 5 fit in. And I am wondering when they will reveal the 5th. I find it odd that the other models don't believe the final 5 are in amongst the humans. Seems odd to me.

That is interesting. If they aren't among the humans and they aren't with the first 7 then where are they? They have a disconnect over where the final 5 are at.

The first 2 episodes were pretty good, although not as good as the beginning of season 3.

I hope they find something interesting to do with the Baltar story line, or focus on it less. I think the whole cult thing is kind of boring, and the episodes grind to a hault when ever it switches to his story line. I think it'd be really dumb if he actually turns out to be some sort of Messiah. I like him better as a slimy, spineless, semi-villain.

They need to punch these storylines up a bit more. There aren't many episodes left till the series finale.

I agree. I'm wondering about what they're trying to do with his character...

I hope they focus more on the cylon bickering going on. That is interesting. Also, want to know more about where Starbuck was and what happened there as it's still left unanswered.

Okay, that was one nasty, dark episode... on multiple levels. I mean, I never liked Cally that much, always found her kind of annoying, but ouch! Plus, Zarek is back! (And he's right about Roslin. I like Laura a whole lot, but she is becoming a scary, scary woman.)

One of the BSG commercials went: Laura Roslin, diplomat or dictator?

What do y'all think?

I think Laura is supposed to be reminiscent of George Bush in post-911 days.

I thought last night's episode was kind of dull.
Not much happening, just the new cylons all battling their "inner demons".
Looks like Tigh is really going off the deep end there, seeing his wife in number 6.
The chief is also breaking down, for a sec I thought he was going to blurt out to adama that he was a cylon!
The only one that appears to be "sane" is the female cylon, forget her name.
She seems to have accepted herself as a cylon, while the others are still struggling about what they are.

Overall I thought it was a good character episode. Chief's scenes were particularly painful, but I was a bit confused by some aspects of the Saul/Six interactions. Laura continues to be rather scary, while being 100% correct in what she wants to do.

If you listen real hard you can hear Adama's heart breaking into a few million pieces.

Yah, I was confused about that too.
I'm not sure what the deal with him is.
I can figure out he's guilty about his wife and missing her, but why project it onto number 6?

I'm interested in next week's episode. Looks like they'll go back to the Starbuck storyline.

Isn't it ironic that the skin jobs put a block against higher 'brain' functions in the toaster cylons? They use the toaster versions to fight and do the dirty or monotonous jobs just like people did. Talk about imitating their creators.

Yeah, I think the cylon civil war will turn out to be one of the real highlights of this season. It seems like a brilliant idea.

Has anyone else started listening to the podcasts by RDM? Some interesting insights, and it seems like the power that be are totally on board with the Adama/Roslin developing relationship. He practically gushes about them every time they have a scene together.
