Oh, all this talking about ME!!!!! I'm overjoyed! I'm doing pretty good. Still wearing Depends, of course, but I do feel much safer w/ them. I am wondering if I started earlier this time due to the fact I ran out of progesterone cream a week before payday, so I did start several days earlier than usual. I didn't realize I was THAT dependent on it, but I'm glad it is that effective. I sign my emails w/ k also. Just a habit. k

Thought I would post this for all the newcomers. Welcome to the thread! quote:
Some definitions taken from WebMD. Premenopause. Some experts feel that this term should include the entire reproductive period up to the final menstrual cycle whereas others consider it to refer to women on the cusp of menopause. Their periods have just started to get irregular, but they do not yet experience any classic menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes or vaginal dryness. A woman in premenopause is usually in her mid-to-late 40s. If your doctor tells you that you're premenopausal, you might want to ask him or her how he or she is using this term. # Perimenopause. This term refers to women who are in the thick of menopause. Their cycles may be erratic, and they may begin to experience hot flashes and vaginal dryness. On average, women are about 47 when they hit the perimenopause stage. # Menopause. This refers to your final menstrual period. You will not be able to pinpoint your final period until you've been completely free from periods for one year. Then, you count back to the last period you charted, and that date is the date of your menopause. Note: After more than one year of no menstrual periods due to menopause, any vaginal bleeding is now considered abnormal. # Postmenopausal. This term refers to the last third of most women's lives, ranging from women who have been free of menstrual periods for at least one year to women celebrating their 100th birthday and beyond. In other words, once you're past menopause, you'll be referred to as postmenopausal for the rest of your life. quote:
Common symptoms of hormonal imbalance: Fatigue Cravings for sweets or carbohydrates Weight gain Hot flashes or night sweats PMS Feeling depressed or overwhelmed Mood swings or irritability Insomnia or restless sleep Headaches Loss of desire Fuzzy thinking Digestive issues Stiffness or joint pain Anxiety Heart palpitations Breast pain Urinary dysfunction Hair loss/dry skin Vaginal dryness Irregular periods Fibroids Keep in mind that not every woman will have all the symptoms and these are only the most common symptoms.

Chik-Fil-A is great! We had one in IN, but it was in Indianapolis and I usually only wound up there on Sundays. I really want Jalanda's diet too!

Hi ladies, I think i will wade in here. I went menapausal in my 40's. I slowly had less flow and my peroids slowly were farther apart. This lasted several years. My moods would change faster that a fly can blink. I noticed I was getting more clumbsy sp?. I would drop things more than usual. Triping increased. THere was episode on Waltons when the mom said she felt llike her hand didn't belong to her. After I had not had a peroid for 1 year I had to have a hystorectomy. I have spent my life lifting people, lifting things on the farm and had 4 children. My uterus was falling out.. Some medical things I can pass along as a nurse are that how you go through menopause can depend on a number of thing. Some signs and symptoms may to follow how your mother and grandmother did. If you are thin iprpbbably you will have stronger symptoms. If you are overweight your symptions will be milder but the menopause will last longer. I do not have a history of cancer in my family so I take low dose of harmones to keep the vaginal walls stronger, I also use premeron cream to help with the dryness. It also helps a lot with the ergency and incont. The mom who was buying pads for grandma was doing it for incontance. I hope this helps someone. Nancy

I'm guessing that I'm 'Postmenopausal' since I haven't had a period in five years. My periods started changing in Jan 03 and then in Feb 03, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The chemo stopped my periods completely. However, I have been experiencing problems with sleeping, mood swings, depression, feeling hot but not hot flashes, lack of purpose--some of which could be caused by becoming older (in my 50's) and realizing that my life span may be shorter than before. I made a consultation to see my female doctor on Wednesday, Sept 17, hoping to finding out the real cause for these symptoms. The breast cancer I had was caused by hormones so I can't take hormore replacements if this is caused by the 'Change". LOL,
