I came home from the movies with my three DD, my husband shaved his head, and percied his own ear. He is so conservative, I was speechless. He did not wear it of course in certian situations either. He finally let the hole grow up, but still shaves his head. He was so free in Spirit with the earring. His parents had a cow, but, he is way over twenty-one. I miss that earring. I say go for it, do not get caught up in others legalisam.

Well, you only have to ask him, I guess, and if you tell him that you're going to go get an extra set of holes put in yourself, and that he should join you, see what he says.

Well that's fine, anyway.

I guess if your wife happened to like the idea of you getting one, you might see things in a slightly different light, whatever.

Take care.

I wouldn't have married a woman that liked tattoos or piercings like that on a man.

Well, that's what you may think now, but figure, there are plenty of ladies in their 40s and 50s who are getting their first tattoo or extra piercings etc, after not showing an interest in them for years, so you never know just what a lady may end up liking on a man, as well.

But what do I know?

Take care.

Well, go for it. You seem to have liked his earring so much, anyway, that a couple of extra holes of your own would presumably be worth it from your point of view, right? if you want him to have it done again. (But what do I know?)

Take care.

I have my ears pierced twice, I like earrings. I only have holes in my ears though, I am kind of a foofoo woman, if you could not tell. (LOL) It was just nice to see him break free from his very conservative ways.

Well, getting your 3rd set of ear piercings would be worth it, wouldn't it? if thereby he could be persuaded to have his earring put in again, right?

(Just a guess, from what you said earlier about really liking his earring.)

Take care.

Again, I can't see my wife going for them in 20-30 years.

Some of you do know there is nothing wrong with not liking them, right?

(emphasis mine) Right. What I do think is distasteful is how in this thread it is practically pushed as something to be embraced. It's insidious but it's there.

Men with Pierced Ears?

To each his own.

Me I have enough holes in my head now. I don't need to add anymore. But that is just my preference not a rule.

Heh, I caught that with the first minute being here.

Which is what largely sparked my posts - we (all of us, chiefly with myself) do enough already as it is to conform to this world.. getting inks and piercings is not something else I need to add onto my mess.

If I remember right, God is more concerned about our hearts and not what we look like. I TRY not to be superficial and judge a person based on that. To me it doesn't matter if your tattooed, pierced, or color your hair purple. As we grow in our walk with the Lord we base our choices on what God would have us do and he shows us when to remove something in our lives that may cause a stumbling block for ourselves or others. For me, I worry about my heart not my appearance.

Is that a pout? The intent is definitely in this thread - as if a Christian that doesn't like them is somehow wrong, antiquated, etc.. Just something that has been pointed out.

Okay so you're uncomfortable not only with earrings but with the existence of the thread, well okay but I guess there is more than one viewpoint but you are perfectly entitled to yours. Take care and God bless.

I am not uncomfortable with the thread, simply pointing out the obvious tone of it. Friend, I am not one for any form of censorship, trust me. Ned Flanders I am not...

I've always wanted just the one ear pierced, but since I do Christian music in fairly conservative surroundings, I figure I'd better not do anything that might cost me work!

I've already got longer than normal hair for a guy, so I'd better not push it!
