They are playing this exploding limo gag up to the hilt. If you go to the website, they even have a fake article "Breaking News" with a picture of the explosion, then an article about firefighters not finding the body at the scene. I think this is Vince's way of retiring. He's been prepping his son and daughter to take over the business for years. Maybe this is Vince's final hurrah.

I was pretty happy with the draft needless to say. Benoit is going back to ECW!!! I thought that was awesome.

Did anyone else think that Ted Nugent stepped in and pretended to be the Body? And did anyone understand a word coming out of Snuka and Sheik's mouths? Snuka was a bit better, but they should have had that translator guy for Khali there to explain what Sheik was trying to say.

Hitman looked great, and so did Piper (except for the keg he's carrying around the middle now). I wonder if Hitman will ever get in the ring again (doesn't even have to be WWE). He's another one that I heard injury had sidelined.

By FAR the best "tribute" of the night was from none other than the Texas Rattlesnake himself, SCSA!

Liked Hitman's "tribute" as well, but never been a fan of him. Too arrogant/cocky. 'Course, SCSA is as well, but Hitman comes across as an elitist whereas SCSA comes across as more of an "everyman".

The retirement would make sense. Shane O'Mac has been on the show much more often of late, and I'm pretty sure that the Billion Dollar Princess is firmly in control of the Creative side now.

Is it just me, or is Boogeyman's facepaint starting to look more like a mask??

There's more tributes that they didn't show on the show if you go to wwe.com, one I noticed was Howard Finkel, the former announcer, and then some other wrestlers like Ricky Steamboat, Dean Malenko, Gerald Brisco, Pat Patterson, the Brooklyn Brawler, etc.

I noticed in the list that Foley read off that Hogan declined to comment on Vince. I wonder if he's still trying to buy part of TNA?

Boogeyman's face paint/mask is so odd looking. He's an oddball. I'm still trying to figure out if he's eating real worms. PETA would be all over them. *lol*

My favorite of the night had to be Stone Cold also. I would have liked to see him there personally, and to administer a "stunner" to Vince for his appreciation speech. And I guess those trailer teasers about two months ago were true about Snitsky coming to RAW. Computer generated draft huh?

Well, wwe.com is reporting that the Feds are responding to the scene now.... problem is that the local newspaper in Wilkes-Barre knows NOTHING of this... gee, which to believe...

Hmmmm.... Which to believe? You know, I'm aware that I'm not a genius, but if they're going to stage something big, it also needs to be believable. But then again, this is the same company that expects us to believe that the "Great Khali" can wrestle. I promise I'm not intending to be overly critical of the WWE. But this is getting a little crazy.

Armydude, it's very difficult not to be overly critical of the WWE anymore.

Vince will probably turn up next week and try telling everyone he rose from the dead and is now God. I wouldn't put it past him.

Well, armydude, here's the problem:

The Wilkes-Barre paper is getting TONS of calls/ emails asking about the investigation....

Me, I knew when it blew that it was staged. A) the door was left open too long after he got in. B) there were "bums" outside the building - my bet is that they were the explosive control team. C) The car is still intact, just charred. A true car bomb wouldn;t leave the car intact. D) All of the sparks that accompanied the explosion. Bombs don't spark, even in cars. You see flame sometimes (in a real bomb), but more often just smoke and flying debris. E) Notice that they NEVER showed the passenger side of said limo...

Any "tells" that I'm missing here??

Yeah. It happened on camera.

My husband forces me to watch this stuff.

Here's the article from the Times-Daily in Wilkes Barre, Pa:

Mid-Day Note: In search of Vince McMahon

For all of you who have e-mailed me today, let me just say this: As far as we know, everything that went on last night at Wachovia Arena was part of the show.

For those of you who don't follow professional wrestling (and count me among that group), Vince McMahon and his troupe of professional wrestlers made an appearance at the arena last night for a WWE Raw broadcast. From what I understand, at the weekly show's conclusion, McMahon stepped into a limo that was then shown as exploding on the arena's video screen.

Evidently, professional wrestling fans who have been e-mailing me this morning fear that McMahon is dead.

Rest assured, if McMahon had been killed last night at the arena, it would have been reported on more than just professional wrestling Web sites. The county coroner would have been called to the arena, along with a slew of law enforcement officials.

read the rest here

As the guy said, if Vince was dead in that explosion, it would have been reported all over the place. This is just another attempt at grabbing ratings by the man who knows how to grab them.

I like Benoit going to ECW. Maybe he will get to be the top guy there, he deserves to be.
Raw came out real good on the draft with Booker, Lashley, and Kennedy. At least Cena has someone to wrestle that can wrestle.
Maybe Flair can get one more title run on Smackdown.
I hope that the explosion was a way for Vince to retire or at least a way for him to be off t.v. But knowing him it won't be.

24wrestling.com is reporting a Fatal Four Way for the ECW title at Vengeance. Burke, Cor Von, Punk, and Benoit.

An article on one of the wrestling websites says that the WWE made a faux paux in flying the WWE flag at half mast next to the American flag at full mast. It's illegal to fly an American flag at half mast apparently when there is no one that they are honoring.

I was surprised last night that Tazz actually got upset that the crowd was booing Vince during the ten bell "salute." Honestly, do they think anyone on earth is buying this storyline?

I'm hoping that Benoit gets the title. Although I wouldn't be too upset to see Punk get it.

I'm sure there are some out there that are buying it.
It is sad news that "Sensational Sherri" passed away at such a young age. Praying for her family.

I saw that Psyco Sid wants to make a come back in WWE. I saw this on 24wrestling.com.
They also have draft updates. London & Kendrick, Sandman to Raw, Kenny Dykstra and Hardcore Holly to Smackdown, and Vicera to ECW so far. wwe.com also has draft updates.

TNA had a PPV last night. Kurt Angle won the title. Road Warrior Animal took Scott Stiener's place in the tag match with Rick against Team 3D.

YankeeNut, I can't believe you're falling for the scam that WWE officials are pulling! Vince isn't dead. If he had been, don't you think that more news venues than WWE-controlled ones would be broadcasting the "news?" A blast of that size, followed by a fire that consumes a limo - not to mention Vince McMahon - would be plastered all over the place. Besides, did you see the way that it all went down? Vince hesitated as he got to the door, he looked around - almost as if he were waiting for a signal - then opened the door, hesitated once again, stepped inside (leaving his foot outside), pulled it in then stuck it back out for a second, then pulled it in, shut the door and . . . BOOM!!!!! It's all of those factors that, to my way of thinking add up to "HA HA HA!!! We fooled you bunch of idiots again! You trolls are so filth and flarn, flarn and filth gullible!!" How many times has Vince and his team pulled scams on us over the years?! Too many to even begin to count. I'm sorry, Yankee, but I think you been took!

I wonder if anyone else noticed that Stephanie McMahon said something about "Vengeance" and the next PPV happens to be named "Vengeance"? Hints. The WWE loves to drop hints. Watch the last televised show before a PPV and you'll (sometimes) get hints as to who will win in the PPV. This is no different. Next Sunday is a PPV and this is (IMO) just another way to build it up. I believe either Vince will make a "miraculous" return or the storyline will just get a little deeper; as in they'll come up with whodunnit and have a rivalry with that person and the new "boss". Classic Vince McMahon.
I must say it's a pretty good idea with one exception. It's been brought up here before. If anything happened to Vincent McMahon, the news would have been all over it.

Oh we got a taste of that last night. King Booker and Randy Orton came out pointing fingers already. All that was missing was the cheesy Sherlock Holmes outfits. It's like a bad game of Clue.

They are trying to say that Federal investigators are looking into all of this, but the thing is, no one told the Feds. The Times Ledger spoke with federal authorities who said that there was no investigation, that this is a stunt by the WWE. They even said the limo was actually blown up on Saturday night and if you watch the footage, you see where the cut happens where they spliced in the limo exploding. I really am at the point that I no longer even want to talk about it. Can't the WWE just realize that no one is buying this storyline and just let it go. If Vince wants to retire, then just retire. Don't try to concoct some ridiculous storyline of getting blown up. The draft should be the bigger news, because there was a lot of interesting changes. I for one am excited about the prospect of Sandman being on RAW. Carlito doesn't look to thrilled about it though.

Ya know, Cena returning to somewhat-rapping (rhyming at least) at the beginning of Raw was the only really memorable moment until Steph came on to do the whole "Vengeance" arc. Cena's rhymes about stole the show there - though I also liked Jeff Hardy's response when Cade started trying to talk to him after Jeff's match. Are they trying to put Cade and Murdoch as faces against a Hardy heel turn? Because that could be an even worse angle than the whole "Vince died" line. People just won't buy it.

Nah, Jeff isn't turning heel. He just did what we all wanted him to do, and that was stop someone from giving another 45 minute long winded speech about themselves.

Seriously, there were WAAAY too many long winded speeches last night. I'm not even watching next week, because it's just going to be Vince this and Vince that. I bet there isn't even a wrestling match next week.
