Hi everyone!

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I'm sure I'll figure this all out eventually. In the meantime, come on in a sit a spell.

Evening, Ray bro!

Ahhhhhh, finally our band is getting back to a decent rehearsal schedule! Of course, I am about to lose all day Sunday, but there isn't anything I'd rather be doing. Except hanging out with my friends, and ain't none of 'em in here on Sunday afternoons!

Wow, hectic goings on my friend. I hope you and dw can get some relaxation time in there somewhere. Don't want you burning out with all that you do.

Yeah, we were just discussing that we need a vacation (even though we just went off to Frankenmuth, but that was just an overnighter). That won't really be until next year. This year's vacation is going to be the hectic trip from here to Texas to Nebraska and back just before the wedding.

In the meantime, there's too much to do to prepare. And that is combined with too much overtime. At least it's keeping me ahead of the bills for the wedding and home-improvement projects. We need a smiley for money. I guess this one will do:

That's cool Darcy. How many are in the band? What instruments do they play?

Our band? Let's see here....

First, there's our two worship leaders, David B and Barry the Bass Guy. Both play lead or rhythm guitar, and Barry also plays an AWESOME bass. Both also sing. Greg is a part timer, guitar. Jon is our teen guitarist, mostly lead, but he's not bad as a bass player either. (the only problem is getting him to turn down the distortion! HA!) Paula is keyboard and vocals. David R. is piano, part time (he's a psychologist, ya NEVER know when he can get there!) Dylan is our drummer, another teen guy, as is Tyson, who does congas for us from time to time.

Then, there's the front line. Miriam, (also referred to as Directorlady), is a part time vocalist, who also can play keyboard, violin, and accordion. Trish is alto vocals, plus violin, which she's just learning. Stephanie is vocals, she's a newbie.

That leaves me. Lead vocals, harmony, a bit of rhythm instruments. And apprentice sound geek.

More than you ever wanted to know?

Ohhhh, yeah, I forgot to mention....we now finally. after almost four years, have a NAME!

Due to the fact that we have performed in any and every combination of our members, from ALL of us right down to two of us, we have been christened....

THE CONFIGURATION.

I think it has a certain ring to it.

Hey Darcy, it's good hearing more about your band. I've often wondered how it is all comprised.

Hi Ray, Things have been hectic here also...the funeral for my fatherinlaw was Friday, so of course all my seven children where there, and most of my husband's family. It was tense and stressful, but at least my fil is dancing with his wife now and his first born son. God is good. Praying for you to be at peace and not working too hard. Remember to smell the roses.

Wow Darcy!

A dozen players in the band? We only have eight. There used to be ten, but a couple of them have moved on. When I joined, there were four of us. It had all started with only two. Of those original four, there are only two of us still there.

One of our band members (the pastor at the time ) wanted me to add distortion for one specific song. I wouldn't do it. It wouldn't have gone over very well I don't think.

Hey, we finally adopted a band name too... and after about the same period of time. It was a long story, because we fought over the name a few years ago. Two people that are no longer with the band disagreed on it until we just gave up. In the meantime, I had a list of about 50 suggestions that I don't remember anymore.

One of the ones I had suggested came from a comment from one of the elderly women in the choir. She looked at all of our band equipment, and said it looked like a tornado hit. After that, I thought we should be called "The Holy Tornadoes" (somehow it never caught on, but we still joke about it.)

The most senior member of the band recently reminded me what he had chosen for a name back then. I liked it, and added a tagline.

We are now known as...

Copper Coins

It ain't much, but it's all we have.

Sorry to hear about your fil. I pray that God takes care of all that stress. May the Holy Spirit be with you and keep you through this difficult time.

There's roses??

Oh shoot! I need to trim the roses since it didn't get done last fall. (Add that to the list. )

Hi Ray.

How's my health? Well, I haven't been the best lately, but I'll get there.

Went to oncology last week. The junior doctor I spoke to talked to her boss, and he seems to think that the reason my levels have doubled is due to the gastric banding I had back in October, or something else. I have to go and get more blood tests done in 3 months, instead of the usual 12. I see my surgeon tomorrow, (Wednesday), so I'll see if I can get him to explain why the procedure would do that to my system.

I hope things are going well with you and dw.
