It's certainly one of the best songs to come out this year, and one of the best the Is have done in a while. I may indeed vote for it for song of the year by the final ballot.
(I voted for the new Mark Trammell Trio song "Once Upon a Cross" in the first ballot, but I'm not even expecting it to make the top 10 because most people haven't heard it yet.)

I just opened my new Inspirations CD - I Know.
If you are loading it onto iTunes, be careful. Three of the song titles are incorrect and I had to edit them. This is important to me as I load the songs onto four computers and if there is a mistake that I don't catch, it is a lot of work to change.
So far I am up to the fourth song, and I like the CD very much. I love the song I Know, but my favorite version is by the Oak Ridge Boys.

While my son would agree with you, and he really likes Never Gotten Over..., I enjoy I Have Not Forgotten. I think it has a great message. I like the other song as well.

The songs on the album are generally short, 10 songs in 27 minutes.

iTunes has a choice for Southern Gospel. You have to edit the album and choose it as a genre. The question is: Why does the album not go into iTunes originally in this genre.
Re: I Know. I am not sure who made up the group when this came out, but I have it somewhere on a 45. Maybe I'll find it during my ongoing decluttering and simplifying project.

iTunes has any genre that you have typed in available to select for your tracks when importing. It's the CDDB that automatically fills in the album information that doesn't make it available. If you've ever submitted any CD information that you've had to type in using iTunes, you can't use Southern Gospel as the genre.....you have to select something else. Usually I select Gospel & Religious.

I saw the Inspirations for the first time yesterday evening. They were great!
The McKameys were also did there, and did well as usual.

I have been searching for an Inspirations album for a few years entitled "Country Christrmas". Their discography only lists a couple of songs on the album. Has anyone actually seen the album? If so, I would like to get some information about it. I.e. publishing firm, album number, and maybe a list of the other songs on it. I have never seen a listing for this on ebay or any other site that I have looked. It seems to be one of their most rare recordings.

Martin Cook said the Inspirations were neither Blue Grass or true Southern Gospel. He said their style was mountain music with a Southern Gospel Flavor and I would have to agree with him. They are not what I would call a polished group yet, they have stood the test of time and their fans are like Earnhardt fans. "loyal." I also agree Archie singing amazing grace on the mountain side is awesome.
I have read many post on other boards as to how The Inspirations could win awards over some of today's progressive groups. I thought about this and come to the conclusion that the Inspirations know their audience better than most and utilize their Mountian Southern Gospel Music as a niche that has always put them in a class by themselves. When an Inspiration song is played on the radio it does not matter if the DJ identifies the group or not; listeners know they were llistening to The Inspirations.
In their height of their careers The Inspirations were one of the few groups who would book a date on a percentage of the gate. Take my advice and don't try this with any group in Southern Gospel Music today; you may lose your shirt.
My favorite recording is a live album that featured 'When I Wake Up"

No doubt the message is great, but it is too "bluegrassy" for my taste. Every time they do the repetitive part, I see those guys from Brother Where Art There in my mind. 
But the album as a whole is a winner. I have never listened to The Inspirations that much, but this may make me a fan.
Have you heard it live in concert? It goes over very well at their concerts, and I think most people would agree that once you have heard it live you will enjoy it more on the recording.

My favorite song from the project is "I Have Not Forgotten." After Martin Cook made sure that everyone at NQC last year or listening (as I was) to the live feed knew the song, I got to liking it so much that I purchased the project.
My second favorite from the project is "Led by the Master's Hand." I love that song! (A third favorite is "When I Walk on the Streets of Gold.")
