If you have about a half hour I found this message to be interesting as I have never heard anyone preach about such things....

The reason why you say you have never heard these things preached before is because the majority of mainstream Christian Pastors know this stuff is way out there and would never preach it themselves.

I listened to the entire message (wish I could get that time back now) and it's just the same bunch of stawman arguments being thrown around since the reformation. He even quotes many of the reformers like Luther, Calvin, Wesley and Cramner saying the pope is te Anti-Christ. If the pope's at the time of the reformation were the anti-Christ why hasn't the end time scenarios played themselves out yet? Christ hasn't returned yet.

I'm sure this guy is trying to promote a book or CD series on his show so keep that in mind before taking any stock in what he Say's. Taking quotes from popes out of context is nothing new and is far from original.

I just watched a show on the TCT network called "Ask the Pastor" and a question about the the end times and bible prophecy was asked. Guess what, out of five pastor's on the panel there ended being six different responses.

Go figure

Hi Irish2

Thanks for your input on the sermon... I have been a Christian for 15 years only, but I am not as well informed as you when it comes to all this old information on the Catholic religion. I guess that would have to be because now pastors stay clear of this type of teaching as you said, but somehow, I still feel it is important for us to talk openly and honestly about it. I just wonder, with our new idea of preaching and "keeping the peace" attitude, how much more do we accept what God obviously does not agree with? So, when is it appropriate to make stands with groups who offer misleading teaching? Two friends of mine have gone against the public school system and now send their children to Catholic schools instead since they feel the public system does not set a good example as God is not taught there. So is it better that we accept the Catholic way and bring our children up with their understanding instead? Is it better to be taught to worship Mary or find out about gay marriages? How much more will the Catholic system steep into our Christian lives since most Christians don't even realize what the Catholic religion is since it is not spoken of and instead we are taught to have the attitude of acceptance? How many years will it take before basic Protestant principles are slowly converted to more worldly as we don't seem to have a footing and agree with everyone?

There is something to learn from everyone and everything... and I think we all have something to offer even if we are bringing back history. Hey, I learned something that was never offered to me before. I can't say I know the Catholic religion is the "Anti-Christ". That is a pretty big statement, and who could prove it anyway? I do know that in my experience and little knowledge of them, I don't trust them as it is obvious to me that they make statements and have rituals that misrepresent God. I would never deal with them in any way. I feel my sister sold her soul when she HAD to convert to the Catholic faith to be married. Another thing I don’t agree with. Anyway, my sister has the understanding that with no commitment other then a few dollars to them every now and then and she will have forever peace in heaven. Sad. But still the Catholic church is so highly regarded even it seems by us…. I don’t get it.

I certainly understand your perspective on these issues. I agree with you that it's disheartening that your sister converted to a new faith just to make things easy in a marriage.
I know there are hundreds, and I've read dozens of testimonies from Protestant pastors who are converting to the Catholic church after reading the early church fathers and sifting through all the misinformation out there (Ex: Catholics worship Mary, pray to statues) and discovering the truth for themselves.
I responded to the video only because I've seen so much of this type of program before and feel sad when the CC is misrepresented and quotes taken out of context.
I think I have a good understanding of the way some perceive the CC the way they do. I married a Baptist and we have attended her church for years now. I think it's a Spirit filled church and enjoy it immensely.
I wish everyday there didn't have to be division in Christianity and we could all come together as one unified body.
I just implore people out there not to make rash judgements and accept everything anyone says because they stand behind a pulpit and do a slide show.
If people took the time to do some basic research I think they would be shocked to discover what they have been told has been misrepresented.

Just my humble opinion

Cathedrals have tried in vain
To show the image of your face.
But we are, by your design,
The signature of divine.

We'll always sing your name.
Forever and today.

Yahweh, Yahweh...
Great is your glory when you go before me
Oh, we sing...
Holy, Holy...
Your ways are lovely. So high above me.
Yahweh

The fortunes of kings and queens
Are wasted chasing what we've seen.
Cause we are, by your reprieve,
The beauty framed by your suffering.

We'll always sing your name.
Forever and today.

Yahweh, Yahweh...
Great is your glory when you go before me
Oh, we sing...
Holy, Holy...
Your ways are lovely. So high above me.
Yahweh

Take me, and pull me through.
Cause I can't move without you.
I won't leave you alone, you say.
It will be okay.

Yahweh, Yahweh...
Great is your glory when you go before me
Oh, we sing...
Holy, Holy...
Your ways are lovely. So high above me.
Yahweh.
Yahweh, Yahweh...
Great is your glory when you go before me
Oh, we sing...
Holy, Holy...
Your ways are lovely. So high above me.
Yahweh

Ancient of Days...
Yahweh!
