Lagging and disconnecting are such annoyances. Can anyone say "my cable is how much money each month for this kinda service???"

But it didn't stop me from dying multiple times last night in some very akward places! Had to call in reenforcments from higher level friends and family!

I got disconnected 3 times in succession on Thorium Brotherhood. Followed by a single disc later.

I guess there is no way around a few problems with the system.

Marcus... will keep praying for her....

Well, my character is getting into the middle 40's YAY!

But actually, Neuron has leveled her more than I have...

But I have fun when I can anyway...

Did you notice that some types of characters and affiliations are easier to level?

We noticed that alliance areas seem to level up faster.... As well as pallys and warriors seem to go faster as well. Pallys especially....

Anyone else notice anything like that?

I think it is just because there are so many more Alliance players. I have started so many characters and deleted them trying different things out. I have learned how to maximize my leveling experience to give me the maximum rep as early as possible.

I don't play WoW, but let me ask a question. How much WoW news do you guys hear directly from other players in the game? I read a lot of gaming blogs and occasionally see WoW related stuff that's really interesting (like a WoW-themed peice of chalk-art or the amusing, and suprisingly good quality, "Ballad of the Noob" on YouTube). If I, as a non-player, see something like that and chuckle or smile, is it likely old news to those who actually play WoW, or is it worth posting?

For my part, there are so many different sites out there that have WoW stuff, that I simply do not even try to keep up with them all. I do scan Google videos for more WoW vids, but I actually hadn't seen "Ballad of the Noob" yet. I will have to check that one out.

And while people are searching for that one, they need to check out "Big Blue Dress" and the "Monty Python Spoof" when looking for WoW vids. I found those on Google, but I think I have seen them on YouTube also.

So figmentPez, please, post.

So I am in Felwood yesterday with my lvl 53 mage. I needed to take out Overlord Ror, and get some Timbermaw rep up (I did a grinding session last week to go from hated to just plain unfriendly now). So I see a lvl 52 horde mage there by some dead Furbolgs. I asked him if he was doing Ror. He was actually just grinding to get rep up. So we grouped. He and I together, the two mages, would corral 5 or 6 Furbolgs together and then hammer them into the ground. It was awesome.

Then we had two tanks join us doing the same thing, grinding for rep. And so the four of us ran rampant through the area. When I started this little session, I had 65 points out of 3000 to get to Neutral. You get 5 points per kill, plus extra points for tribal feathers. When we were done, I accumulated 3g in coin drops and my rep was something lik 1275. We killed about 200 furbolgs in a little over an hour.

It was cool. I was able to play more aggressive because I knew I had someone to back me up when my mana drained. I typically solo things and when I have grouped, I have not been in groups that could kill so quickly. The two tanks mainly just drew aggro and hammered on the runners trying to get to the two mages.

It was poetry in motion

Oh and we offer no apologies to the poor little Alliance night elf druid that tried to tap our kills. He deserved it when Ror cast Fear on him several times

For the Horde!

sounds like you guys had a good time. I, alas, have algebra homework and then we have a youngen singing in a concert tonight. This weekend we have alot of great stuff planned AFK. At this rate I'll be level 60 by the time I retire somewhere around 65 or 70 years old.
(hint: I am not anywhere 65 or level 60).

And my sons wonder why I don't play some of the other games....sheesh! One is ENOUGH for me!

Question for any WoW players.

Do you use any UI mods, and if so, what ones? And more importantly, what is the best mod to provide coordinates?

We ran cosmos for a while, then with one of the upgrades, it broke. We removed it and I never found enough reason to load it again. But I am seriously getting tired of looking up mobs for quests and not being able to find them because I don't have the coords displayed. That alone is the only reason I really can think of for using a UI for myself.

I am fond of the counter and the status bars, etc. And there is a nifty map now that I can set the opacity and can look through as I wander ( I can easily get lost there just as in real life). I also like the counter when I have a quest. "Just how many hairy monster teeth do I still have to collect?"

but today my real fight was with my algebra test..........argh..... quadratic inequalities!!!! I guess it is good for building new brain synaps.

CT Raid and Team Speak is very common at the highest levels for raids in instances. Often you will find yourself barred from going without them loaded. They allow you to customize the display a bit.

I liked Cosmos for regular play plus Atlas. It was nice to be able to setup the displays as I wanted. Atlas allowed me to pull up the regular maps plus the instance maps, and it showed where the common quest items were. Too bad it stopped working after the latest patch. Same for Atlas.

I have used various macros and mods I've found on http://ui.worldofwar.net/. Many of the spells used have various levels depending on the level of the target. The macros are written to automatically determine the level of the target and the corresponding spell level to use just by clicking on the icon. You can use macros to say repetitious things without having to type them over and over.

I use the macros to copy Scripture verses and use them every so often. I leave the citation off usually.

Actually with a recent patch, the basic UI already shows a quest counter for items. Its not perfect and some quests simply do not show up but the majority do. The only thing I miss is coordinates. Using the basic UI we turn on the right, second right, and bottom action bars pretty much all the time now. On non-pet/minion characters, we turn on the bottom left action bar as well.

So it really is just the atlas/coordinate function I would like to have. Well, then again, I would like to have some macros for "running from here to there" like when going between the bank, auction house, mailbox, and vendor in cities when I am making items to sell

And every now and then I am tempted to run a farming macro
