Isn't part of having a cycle not just about ovulation but also about cleaning out the uterus (sloughing off the gunk)? I had my baby in December and had 4 or 5 normal cycles with ovulation and everything. However, I don't think I ovulated this last time. I had no mucous at all until a day before my period started but my period was still on time. It'll be interesting to see what happens this time around. In the three years I've charted, I've never not ovulated until now.

Now I have only recently started charting, but knowing about fertile mucus and what not, I know I have always ovulated each cycle. It has only been since having Mary, (I've now had three cycles) that I have not had any of those fertile signs. Now I have my "theory" about that, and I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that I now have "issues" since we haven't gone that route yet.

I've only had the digital one I got through CCLI. So far, so good.

Reli-On - 60-Second Basal Thermometer (that's a link) I just bought it not long ago, and I like it so far. It stores the last number, and it seems to work quickly, so... all good. =)

I bought the Rite-Aid brand and have liked it so far. Well, I've definitely ovulated this time around. Whew, glad for that! I have 2 friends who do NFP and both have gotten pregnant when their babies were 3 or 4 months old. Both have said that NFP doesn't work until you've had a couple of cycles. Has anyone else heard that or experienced that? It's obviously worked for us since I'm not pregnant yet. That is, assuming, I could get pregnant as easily now as I did with Josie!

I used it while bf, the only times that I had problems is when I tried to push the rules a bit... I've never heard that you need to have a couple of cycles before it's reliable, though.

If you know your body's fertile signs you don't need to have a couple of cycles for it to work...now if you've never done NFP before and are starting for the first time after you've had a baby and while nursing that can be a bit tricky for sure!

You can have a lack of fertile signs, and still be fertile. I hardly ever get "fertile" cf and I conceived a perfectly healthy little one. I usually get one good "wipe" of creamy fluid and that's it for anything remotely fertile.

Right. See before I started NFP I always noticed the EWCF. Between each cycle (and not really knowing what that was all about each time). And so now, I have had three cycles and never seen it. However I do get a few days of like you say Ryanne, a good wipe of creamy fluid. With that said, it is surprising that I am not pregnant because we have not used any protection or abstained much during those times.
