Anyone get to hear Tim with the guys at Silver Dollar City this weekend? Should be a lot of fun!

Danny Stated on his FB page that Chris Lead a gentleman to the Lord at the Product table this weekend in Branson. I know how that feels. Jonathan Wilburn lead me to the Lord at intermission at a GC CONCERT on Jan 27th 2007. It shows that God is still working thru GC to reach the Lost.

I was thinking of going to see GC on thursday night in High Point, NC. Do they have anyone filling in for them on the bass part or are they still going as a trio for now? Someone make me go see them and tell me that Tim is filling in then.

I was there Saturday night......all I can say was wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know what to expect.....it was a full house.

Tim is as good or I dare say better than when he was traveling with them full time. All of his health problems seem to be cleared up. He looked good. He sang awesome! He nailed the low part. A week ago, he turned 64.

They did a wide range of stuff from old to new. It was literally one song after the other and it was so good that they got a standing ovation at the end and no one wanted to leave so they came back and did the encore of "When He Calls (I'll Fly Away)" complete like Jay used to do it.

The band of Gold was with them. They did a great job....GC's piano player is still learning the music.

Not for sure that Daniel is in a hurry to fill the spot as I truly think he is enjoying this. Frankly, he should just convince his dad to come back all the time :)

Tim truly looked like he was having a ton of fun on stage!

I was wondering what they would do for National Quartet Convention. Having Tim with them makes sense.

I don't know if I've mentioned this, but we had tickets to Gold City in early August, but I was too sick to go. And Tim sang with the bass part that night.

Mrs. K and a friend enjoyed it very much, but not as much as I would have.

Well, I'm convinced...me and my buddy are driving about 3 hours to go see them tonight in High Point N.C. I sure hope Tim is with them. I will try and remember to take my camera and record some clips of them singing. If I get any I will post them on youtube for you guys.

Now, I have to eat my words. I've been watching Chris on some of the youtube clips and I have to say that I am very impressed with his voice. I can't wait to get to meet him.

Don't think that's gonna happen! I loved Jonathan Wilburn with GC! And I hope he's doing well.

Why do you say that? Bryan Hudson did with the current Kingsmen and Randy Crawford just did with Brian Free & Assurance.

Well, we went. The concert featured Gold City and the Hoppers. It was a huge church and was sold out. Yep, sold out concert at a ticketed event on a thursday night. We were standing in the lobby waiting on them to open the doors when the man himself walked out of the sanctuary...Tim Riley was indeed there and he hasn't lost a beat. He definately brought the heat last night. Chris did a great job too, as well as everyone did...Tim was without a doubt what the crowd wanted though. When he would bottom a note out of the park the crowd went crazy. They actually finished their second set and walked off stage to a standing ovation and were forced to come back out and do another song. It was awesome!!! I had a great time.

What a substitute. Nothing like getting the best there is to fill in.

Gold City and the Hoppers together. Who was the brilliant promoter who set that up?

Must have been a great night ... not much better this side of heaven.

I went to the High Point, NC concert last night also. It was absolutely fabulous. Both groups were great, but the highlight was watching and listening to Gold City with Tim Riley. It was a tremendous venue as well -- beautiful, large facility. The crowd loved this concert. Wish I could go to a repeat!

It really was a beautiful church. One of the staff members there led us all the way around the roped off area of the church and told us that the building used to be JC Penny store. That was cool. Savings before and after the remodel!!!! LOL

We were hoping to scout out some local talent there for our group...didn't run into one though. Sigh.

Me too. I love old people.

I have seen Gold City several times with Tim over the last 15+ years. It was thrilling to listen to them when Brian Free and Ivan Parker were with the group. One of the best ever.

Speaking of Brian Free and Ivan Parker, has Gold City ever done a reunion like the Kingsmen and others have? I would love to see a video of that. That would be great. I know Gold City hasn't been around nearly as long as the Kingsmen , but it would be awesome... Maybe in 2010, do a 30th anniversary deal, where the bring back everyone who is still living!!!! I'd buy the DVD in a second!!!
