Not really... Tomorrow doggie is going to the ..V..E..T.. for her shots and the rest of the time will be spent HOPEFULLY doing projects around the house and going from room to room tossing, donating and organizing pretty much everything... I'm an organized person and my house is driving me batty right now... I have no money left after last weekend's party so...

One bit of excitement will be registering for the corrections officer testing and finding a place to stay (it's on the other side of the state ). I got the days off (although I didn't say why I wanted them off because my boss will have a fit...). I emailed the Lt. at the jail a bunch of questions and she emailed right back and wished me luck so I guess I didn't give her too bad of a first impression last week...

Is the facility you'd be working in on the other side of the state too? Would you have to relocate?

Either Buffy learned how to spell or O.U.T. spelled out almost sounds like saying the word because she can figure it out.

Nope - it's actually only a couple miles from my house so it would be the shortest commute I've ever had (well, aside from working on my parent's farm when I was a kid). The testing agency they contract with however is far away. They do test in the area but they won't be anywhere on this side of the state until October and I don't want to wait that long...

Some days I think Audrey has learned how to spell too...

Yep! The problem is that he knows I'm looking at changing careers so anytime I take time off he "jokes" by saying things like "You aren't allowed to fill out any applications though"... It wouldn't be so bad but he's a total jerk so it takes everything within in me not to say something snarky back...

He came into my office yesterday and was saying that "I know I'm the easiest person to get along with and blah..blah..blah". I couldn't even respond because the only things I could think of to say weren't exactly... ummm...appropriate.....

In response to the "you aren't allowed to fill out any applications" malarkey, I'd have to say, "Yeah... it would really stink for your only good worker to get a real job wouldn't it." And I wouldn't smile after, so he'd know I was serious.

Then again...

Actually, I usually just smile and say nothing...

Which probably doesn't help his paranoia...

You mentioned that your dog is going to the v--e--t and it made me laugh. I am not sure if my cats can spell or not but they do know who is going to the v--e--t. If it is Dolly with the appt she disappears and Henry wanders around with me while I try to find her. If it is Henry's turn he is no where to be found but Dolly will follow me around. Question--how do they know who is going to the v--e--t and who isn't?

I've never figured it out, but they just do... Except the dog... She doesn't clue in until we pull into the vet's office...

I had a dog once that loved to go to the vet. He would get so excited he would drool and pee all over everything and everybody. Needless to say it was funny but no one wanted to take him to the vet in THEIR car.

I am sooo thankful my Audrey has a good bladder... She did piddle once at the vets when she was a wee puppy. We were in the lobby area and 2 huge labs lunged at her and tried to attack her. Poor thing was only about 12 weeks old and freaked. The owners of labs seemed to think that was funny. I was furious...

My cat knows too. It's quite fun to try to put a 15 pound cat in a carrier.

She better fit in it still. I haven't gotten her to lose weight yet. Yes that is partly my fault but she has no attention span when I try to get her to exercise. Plus she cries when she is hungry and its very aggravating.

My problem with my 3 cats is that one is fat (Miss Piggy I call her), one is too thin and has food allergies and is picky and one is just right. I really don't want to have to feed 3 different kinds of food.. I already do 2 and that's more than enough...

My neighbors probably have their cat on weight control as he's been sneaking into our house for midnight snacks!

Just feed them fat-free mice, now that oughta do the trick!

Miss Piggy would probably still get fat with fat-free mice... She wants to eat everything and thinks (or acts like) she is going to starve to death... She is half siamese but has the all siamese meow and attitude...

My cats are sort of like children to me. In fact when conversations turn to children and others start telling funny stories or discipline problems with their children I find myself chiming in about my cats. Some find this funny others others find it stupid. I have heard that some people feel sorry for people who treat their pets like children. Of course I know the cats are CATS but still.............
