Let Us Touch Jesus “If I may but touch his garment, I shall be well” This precious woman had tried everything to become well and only grew worse; she was a desperate woman for she had spent all of her money trying to get well. She had come to the end of her resources. She had tried everything except the God of the Bible. But then one day she heard about Jesus. And the hope that she thought was gone forever, after so many disappointments, flickered one last time in her heart. She heard about lives that were changed and healings that were given by this Priest of God. As she heard the stories, she knew in her heart that this One was from God. She was determined to touch the hem of His garment for on the hem of the Priest’s garment was a cord of blue which indicated that the Priest was of heavenly nature and was set apart for God. Many of us that are reading this have tried different things to bring relief to our hurtful situations and are no better off than we were. Indeed we might even be worse like this woman (Mark 5:26). Now it is time to gaze at Jesus who heals people and makes them whole. Will we be wise and follow her example to be determined to get a hold of Jesus? Will we follow on in determination until we touch Him in such a way as to get the wholeness that we so desperately need? Let us ask God to give us the faith to believe that Jesus can and will make a difference in our lives if we but reach out and touch Him. He has been waiting for us while we try other means of becoming whole. Let us turn to our Creator, Jesus who alone knows us as no other does. He wants to take us up into His gentle everlasting arms and breathe tenderly into us new life. He wants to show us how to touch Him to get the wholeness that will bring joy into our life and will glorify God. © Virginia

Our Jesus Jesus Christ is very great. Where is the darkness that He cannot vanquish? Where is the life He cannot heal and save? Where is the impossible He cannot do? Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war." (Revelation 19:11) Today, right now, right where you and I live, God is faithful. Jesus will make a way. In fact, it's better than that. Jesus is the way. Remember the people in the Gospel stories? There were people born blind, people with shriveled hands, people with useless legs, people with leprosy, people whose lives were in the very hands of demonic spirits. Many of these folks had lost every hope -- until Jesus came along. And some of them had little hope that even Jesus could really help them out. But you know what? When Jesus spoke, the dead woke up. When Jesus touched a life, everything was set right. Nothing was impossible for Jesus. And right now, in your life, nothing is impossible for Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate pivoting principle that saves the world. He is the faithfulness of God at work. Jesus will make things make sense. Wherever you are in your life and walk, remember what God has said. God will not fail to do all that He has promised. Whatever God has said, God will do. Don't lose hope. Don't waver when the going gets difficult -- and then impossible. When the days grow dark and the storm rages overhead, we will be kept by Him who keeps us. Even if we should perish in this world, we will stand in robes of righteousness at the throne of Him who died to save us. He is our King, our Shepherd, our Life and our unfailing Hope. He is our Savior and Lord. His Name is Jesus. All praise and honor and glory belong to Him forever. Amen and amen.

Master, Carest Thou Not? ~And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, ‘Peace, be still’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm~ Innocent has it seems, it was an assault on the character of Christ. The Master had instructed the disciples to go by ship to the other side of the lake. These were seasoned fisherman; before being called by Jesus, they made their livelihood off of the Sea of Galilee. It seems strange that such a life-threatening storm could come upon a lake suddenly. However the Sea of Galilee is surrounded by hills and canyons and winds may suddenly sweep down onto the lake causing boats to toss and turn. Such was the case in this story. Our Jesus would have slept through the storm but for the terrified disciples crying out and insisting they were going to perish if He did not still the waves. ~Master, carest thou not that we perish? ~ ! We may forgive them and ourselves for crying out in similar fashion. Our tender-hearted Jesus understands. Instead of being harsh with us when we question Him so, His loving heart is full of compassion. Does He care when we are terrified and feel our lives threatened? Oh, yes, my dear reader. Does He care when our hearts our shattered by grief; broken almost beyond repair? His own word says ~He is a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief~ Never a One has had a broken Heart such as the God-man. Does He care when we lose a loved one to death? He hates death so much that He died for us and performed the miracle of miracles when He arose from the dead. Does He care when He sees the abused, the tortured, innocence being shattered? He was abused and tortured more than any other. Oh, yes, precious soul, He cares. If we should cry out again, when in extreme stress ~Master, carest thou not that I perish? ~, He will understand. However, let us not stop there. Let us press into Him and discover the beautiful character of a God who so loves us that He gave His only Son to die for us. And let us stay at the foot of the cross until all doubt about His care flees under His nail-pierced hands and His thorn-crowned Head which was bowed in death because He cares so much for us. The Pearl of Great Price ~Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word; That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish~ ~Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant man, seeking fine pearls, Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it~ Jesus was fond of using parables or illustrations in teaching the truths of God to His disciples. In our two scriptures in Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus compares the “one pearl of great price” to the kingdom of heaven. And in Ephesians, it is the church that Jesus likens to being the one pearl of great price. During the days that Jesus was here on earth pearls were held among the most precious of stones. The pearl of great price is a fine specimen yielded by the pearl oyster, which is found in the Persian Gulf. A natural pearl forms when an irritant, such as a piece of sand, works its way into a particular species of oyster, mussel, or clam. As a defense mechanism, the mollusk secretes a fluid to coat the irritant. Layer upon layer of this coating is deposited on the irritant until a lustrous pearl is formed. With a natural pearl all of this would be accomplished far from seeing eyes; in secret is the beautiful creation formed. Beloved, are you going through a season of pain or irritation? Perhaps you and Jesus are the only ones who know about your pain. He wants to encourage you today that He is forming you into that beautiful pearl that He will be presenting to Himself; part of the church that He is preparing for Himself. I believe that He used the example of a pearl which was so very precious in those days to help communicate to His followers how precious we are to Him. Many of us are being irritated or hurt by certain situations; perhaps we are having great fear about certain things. Just as the pearl was formed hidden from all eyes through painful irritants so our Jesus is forming us into a beautiful pearl that no one right now can see. But someday, the whole world will see the “pearl of great price”; the church of Jesus Christ in all of our beauty and all of our painful, weary days will be over. We, in our precious, pearl-like beauty, will be presented to Him who made it all possible for us by His sacrifice and labor of love. © Virginia

God’s Rest ~Now, therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee. And he (God) said My presence shall to with thee, and I will give thee rest~ Moses had a difficult task. He was the one God chose to lead His people out of Egypt and into the Promised Land. Let us imagine how he felt trying to lead millions of sinful, complaining people to a land he knew nothing about except what God told him. He needed reassurance from God that God would be with him during this journey. He had no desire to fulfill His call unless God’s presence would be with him. ~And He (God) said “my presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest”~. However, Moses wanted more from God and so he boldly cried out to God ~I beseech Thee, show me thy glory~ Oh, that we would all pray that prayer! ~And He said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee~. What did God’s goodness consist of? Let us hear from God once more. ~And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, “The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin~ God’s goodness is expounded upon as He proclaims He is a God of mercy, grace, longsuffering, abundant in goodness, truth and He forgives our sin. God’s character brings us the needed rest we need. As we travel the journey called life, we are called upon to experience sorrow, fear, pain. Are you going through a time of sorrow, treasured reader? Do you experience fear, and emotional or physical pain? How might we experience deep inner peace in spite of our circumstances? There is only One Who can give us peace and rest in the middle of the most trying times. I have had probably the most difficult year of my life the past twelve months. At times my agony of heart was so great that all I could hear was God saying to me “I am with thee”. But those four words were enough. To know I was not alone in my grief brought me the peace I needed. Through much searching and experience I have learned that God truly is a God of mercy, grace, goodness and that He is long-suffering towards my sin and failures. God prepared me for this year that He knew I was going to experience by revealing Himself to me in ever-increasing ways. He is a good God! Do we have grief of heart today? Let us go to God Who made our hearts. He is everything a person needs during the difficult times. He knows us through and through and He is the one that can give us peace and rest in Him, whatever might befall us. ~Come unto Me…learn of Me and ye shall find rest for your soul~ Cherished, 8.15.07

Safe in the Arms of Jesus ~His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace~ Every year she disappears for a short period of time. A month or so later, she re-appears on my property with two newborn fawns. I call her Darlene, this mother deer. It is here that she rests in the shade during hot summer days. It is here that she often beds down at night and brings her fawns to. I never feed her so there is another reason she prefers to be here than other places. It is because it is here she has learned she is safe. Being a wild animal, she will always have some distrust of me but usually when I go near her outside she just looks at me. Her fawns also come to trust me. At first they run but gradually they lose their panic letting me get closer. Feeling increasingly safe, they realize I will not harm them. Many of us distrust God. There are numerous reasons for this. One is if we were brought up in an abusive home. Another, if people have shattered our trust. There are other reasons, also. Do you distrust God, dear reader? I did. It can take many years for us to learn that God is trustworthy and we are safe with Him. Seeing suffering in the world and experiencing suffering ourselves, we sense God could do something to stop suffering however, often, He does not. Questions abound in our minds and doubts about God become entrenched in our thinking. How does one overcome this thinking? Scripture says that Jesus Christ is holy and harmless. Others hurt us by their choices and sin, however, Jesus, being without sin, can not hurt us in this way. There is no darkness in Him; He is called the Light of the World. As we see the world getting more frightening there is only One Who will save us from this present darkness and take us home to Heaven to be forever safe. When we put our trust in Jesus as our Savior and Lord we will eventually feel safe as we study His ways, pray and experience His goodness, tenderness, mercy and love. We will look forward with great expectation to the new Heaven and new Earth where there never will be anything harmful to frighten us. All will be pure Light and Love and our bliss will continue to grow as we are safely with our God, throughout eternity. ~The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea~ Cherished, 8.20.07

The Veil Part One The Veil has been Rent! Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom Matthew 27:50-51 In those days… the veil of the temple separated the holy place from the most holy place in the tabernacle of the Jewish people. The high priest was only allowed once a year into the most holy place to offer atonement for himself and the sins of the people. He alone was allowed into the presence of God. And then...God came to earth. When He came here and became the God-Man, Jesus Christ, He lived a perfect life in our place. Because we are unable to live perfectly God lived His life and then…He died in our place with all of our sins upon Him. When He died, the veil of the temple, at that time, was torn in two. This action was representative of what God had ordained; that every person now has the privilege of direct access into the presence of God. It was torn in two from the top to the bottom indicating that God, from Heaven, reached down and tore it Himself. The way into the presence of God is now open and whosoever desires may enter into God’s presence. Oh, what privilege! A lowly, sinful person as I am allowed to come into the very presence of God! He hears my prayers! I may converse and talk with Him every second of every day, if I wish! I am always in His presence; I am the apple of His eye and His loving eye is always upon me! It is because of the death of Jesus on the cross that God the Father allows me so close to Him that I may have a relationship with Him. Jesus bought that privilege for us by His perfect sacrifice for our sins. The veil has been torn in two! We do not need a priest to bring us to God. All who desire, all who have need, may go to the throne of grace where Jesus sits. He will hear our prayers. He will comfort us. He will encourage us. We will come to experience His tender mercies and love for us. My treasured reader. Do you have need today? Do you have grief of heart? Are you in fear? Are you lonesome and feel rejected? Jesus bids you come! Come into His presence and cry out to Him, whatever your need. He never turns away one that turns to Him. You may enter freely. His arms are outstretched to you! ~Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls~ Cherished, 8.24.07

Beholding and Loving ~Then Jesus beholding him loved him~ What was it about the Rabbi from Nazareth that captured the rich young ruler’s attention? We cannot be certain. Having authority himself, yet he recognized that in Jesus was one that had greater authority. Perhaps he had heard the stories that were swirling around Judah and Galilee of people being healed, set free and forgiven. We might wonder if he had observed some of the miracles accomplished from this gracious Person. The man ran up to Jesus asking Him what he must do to inherit eternal life. The one in authority kneeled before this gentle King. Kind were the words that flowed from the Master’s tongue as he recited the commandments to be kept. I have kept all those was the reply from the ruler. But the rich young ruler’s heart loved something more than Jesus. And yet Jesus beheld the man and loved Him. ~ One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions~. What was it about the man that caused him to leave the presence of God? His heart had been exposed. It was revealed that he loved his riches more than God. We cannot be certain if the man became a follower of Jesus eventually or not. The Master let the ruler go from His presence. For the King does not force His way into our hearts. The Lord knew the man’s heart and yet when Jesus beheld the man, He loved him. The word beheld means to observe fixedly. God beholds and loves us also. Are you aware, dear reader that God is beholding you, sees everything about you and yet loves you? Even if our hearts treasure something above God, He still loves us. He sees the sin in our hearts and yet He loves. He sees the guilt, the shame and yet He loves. He sees our repeated failures and yet He loves. Let us not leave the presence of God in sadness because we do not want to experience the fullness of His love. What a tragedy it would be if we depart from the greatest love that ever walked this earth. Nothing compares to His love. Yet He will not force Himself upon us. He love is a love that draws us to Himself. He is calling us to His great heart of love today. The King of Love My Shepherd Is The King of love my Shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never; I nothing lack if I am His And He is mine for ever. Where streams of living water flow My ransom'd soul He leadeth, And where the verdant pastures grow With food celestial feedeth. Perverse and foolish oft I stray'd, But yet in love He sought me, And on His shoulder gently laid, And home, rejoicing brought me. In death's dark vale I fear no ill With Thee, dear Lord, beside me; Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy Cross before to guide me. Thou spreads a table in my sight; Thy unction grace bestoweth; And oh, what transport of delight From Thy pure chalice floweth! And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never; Good Sehpherd, may I sing Thy praise Within Thy house for ever. Henry Baker, 1868 Public domain

That Mighty Nail-Pierced Hand ~Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway~ Luke 8:54 That hand swept across the darkness and said ~Let there be light~, and the light pierced through the darkness. That same hand came as a tiny hand waving in the air as the newborn God-man came to earth – Immanuel, God with us. That hand took the hand of its mother as a young child fleeing to Egypt; a cruel king wanted to kill him. That hand was raised in prayer to His Father as He fought through near starvation and temptation before His ministry started. That hand gently and lovingly opened the Scriptures as He proclaimed He is the long awaited Messiah ~ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised~ No more precious words have ever come from the lips of man. He had come. Messiah had come. That hand was placed on the heads of little children as He blessed them. That hand touched the hand of the blind and the first face they saw was the face of Jesus. That hand led the deaf mute away from the crowd, placed His finger in the deaf man’s ear as He sighed and the man’s ears were opened. That hand broke the bread and fish and fed thousands with only a few fish and loaves. That hand reached out to Peter and lifted him up to safety after Peter cried out he was perishing in the storm. That hand touched the leper, the untouchable and cleansed him, making him white as snow. That hand stilled the waves, cleansed the temple, was raised in blessing to His Father. That hand healed the sick and raised the dead. And then…that hand was bound. Never allowed to do good anymore while He walked this earth. That loving, kind, generous hand was then…crucified…fixed in agony…on a cruel cross. Yet once more, that hand will wave across humanity. That loving hand will still have the nail-prints upon it. Mightly, all-powerful it will sweep across this earth, raising multitudes from the grave so that we may forever be with Him and kiss that nail-pierced hand. That loving hand will be placed on our heads as we bow in wonder and adoration before Him. Cherished, 9.04.07 http://www.ignitermedia.com/products/iv/singles/4/Thats-My-King

I have spent most of the last hour reading through the posts in this forum. The testaments to our Lord were beautiful! I relate to many of them and they bring tears of joy reading the stories of faith and renewal, hope and blessings from you! If we could put them on a broadcast world-wide for all to see our joy and our love many more would know our joy as well! I grew up in a Christian home but, I never really knew Jesus. I turned my back on Him when I left home to go in the Marines in 1968. That journey was the beginning lf my 'path of destruction' where I lived for ME and for what I could get on my own. Looking back it was like walking down the center of a wide valley with abundance and greatness everywhere. Through the years the valley narrowed to a canyon with steep walls, there was really no way out but to press on or turn around. Eventually I came to the end of that narrow canyon; two failed marriages, a business partner betrayed me and my 'nest-egg' disappeared and my life had come to a halt. At that point, there was only one way to look to get out of this mess and that was up. Days of depression and sadness took it's toll until I listened to a radio broadcast that told of a 'second-chance God'. Who's Son was there for me. I remembered the voice of a dear Sunday school teacher I had as a child who would always tell me, "Jesus loves YOU now and will forever, just call on Him and you will find Him." Alone in my home that night I cried out to Him and He WAS there for me. I felt His presence and His Love and He gave me REAL peace for the first time in all my years. I made Him my Lord and Savior at that time and in that place. It was as if the weight of guilt had been lifted from me and I don't remember falling asleep that night, the first time I had actually slept much in several weeks..... The next morning my alarm woke me early to go to work. It had rained the night before and the clouds were breaking up. They displayed the most beautiful, spectacular sunrise I have ever seen in my life! Nor has there been one since. It was as if the sky was aflame with His Glory and I was in awe! As I stood by my car in amazement, bathed in the beauty of the dawn, I felt the Lord telling me that this was the first day of the beginning of my New Life that He had given me, just as He had promised. I knew then that I truly was a new man! That was 1989. Yes, Love lifted me. ME!!!! A nobody with nothing but a confession to give! Believe me, His Grace is far more than just amazing! I grieved the years I had wasted on myself for some time until I began to discover that it was all part of His plan for me. He has used that experience in my life to make me His Child that I am now. Since turning my life over the the Lord, I have experienced more joy and peace that in all my life before. I have been abundantly blessed in so many ways. He answered my prayers for a Godly woman to share the rest of my life with and 16 years next month will have been by far, the very best years of my life. For anyone who doesn't know Jesus, all I can say is that you have no idea what you're missing out on! All I can do is share his joy and Love with those I meet and hope that they too find the peace that He has given me. Sarge

Bless you, You brought a message from God to me...

What Greater story to tell in all the world than how your life has been changed by God's Amazing Grace. I never knew much about this thing called the internet. My little girl has been working one since she was about 6 years old, ain't much she don't know now about one. Me, I'm a Computer idiot. When I realized I could use this great thing man had made in order to witness for my Lord, I was thrilled. Now I am totally blown away about all the people who use the internet. I didn't ever want a computer, it was always about BAD things in my eyes. But Satan had to make way for GOD'S PEOPLE and I found out there were so many Christian outlets. I just discovered on here today Old Southern Gospel Music. I jumped up and down and praised God like I was in my little country church back home. I put up a website, and my little girl downloaded all my music, because I didn't know anything about that. I was so glad she understood all that stuff. All I understand how to do is type. But God opened up the world of internet and now I desire to share God with everyone. I am new here but if you would like to check out my witness please feel free to go to my webpage. Walking In Grace

For the Love of Christ ~For the love of Christ constraineth us~ Never has a mortal body been so full and driven by the love of God. A murderer and persecutor of the new sect of Christianity, he was full of hatred against Christians and their God. And yet, while on his way for further persecution of the Church, the greatest Light of Love knocked him to the ground and, arguably, the greatest love story between God and His creature began. ~For the love of Christ~; ~for the love of Christ constraineth us~! Up and down the land and by sea his wearied body could hardly contain the love of God that swelled within him. From that day, onward his whole life was full of and for the One Who so constrained him; held, as with a vice, by the love he once tried to destroy. What is it that has kept millions of Christians faithful to the God-Man Who walked this earth two thousand years ago? The love of Christ is the great underlying motive. We must consider, however, it is not just love. It is the love of God. It is the love of God to us. As one continues the Christian journey, questions abound when sorrow and pain come. We would turn from this God if we could, at times. Our hearts might harden to Him as we wear down through this difficult life. But the more difficult the circumstance, the more this love abounds to and keeps us. Tender are the gentle whispers to the heart that is grieving. Faithful is the right hand that mightily holds us in its grasp. Persistent is the seeking heart of the good Shepherd as He goes after the lamb that would wander away. No matter how we would run from Him, attempting to flee the pain He allows, the more the Divine impulses of love hold our heart as He pours out His infinite wisdom and goodness upon us as only an all-wise God can do. The deeper the valley, the more of His love our heart can contain. Until…we are finally able to say, even though the difficulty might not be over, ~the love of Christ~ constrains me. Oh, what a firm foundation that we stand upon! What irresistible pleasure we continue to have in our God even when we cannot see the end of the difficulty. We press on, upwards towards the ultimate goal of seeing our Saviour’s face clearly…and the Divine Eyes that gaze on us now and forever in perfect love. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 31-35, 37-39 Cherished, 9.13.-07

Our Personal God ~He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it~ Revelation 2:17 How intimate and personal does our God desire to be with us? He desires to be closer to us than we realize. This can be a hard concept for us to grasp. It may take years to acknowledge that He is closer to us than our very breath, but to the one who presses on until they realize it, boundless joy awaits them! God desires us to come and talk to Him about everything. The one who does this is richly rewarded. If one takes the time to not only talk to Him but listen, they will often hear soft, gentle, encouraging words from their Creator. They might feel the caresses of God as His peace floods the heart. Our God longs to be close to His people! Listen to the words of King David, who knew God like few others; ~ how precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee~ (Psalm 139: 17, 18). We are on God’s heart at all times and His thoughts towards us are kind, good, loving and merciful. They are precious thoughts. When we sleep at night His eye is ever on us; when we awake we may become aware of His encircling presence. God knows His mighty grace can transform the most fearful or disbelieving heart as the Divine impulses of love finally cause us to obtain the faith in Him that He longs for us to have. He knows what His grace will transform us into. Do you believe these things? He already has a new name for us that will represent our transformed character that He already sees in us. Do you know your new name yet? It will be a secret between you and God; how tender! How intimate! We see our failings and faults; our strivings to “become”. He sees a beautiful masterpiece, a poem, a beautiful one, transformed under His mighty workings in and through us. When we allow ourselves to become more intimate with God is when our rest of soul begins. When we share with Him and Him with us, our confidence in Him and His faithfulness towards us grows. We begin to believe that we really will become all that He desires for us, our destiny will be realized and…sooner or later, we will hear Him whisper our new name to our hearts. Cherished, 9.27.07

So Close God ~Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings~ Psalm 17:8 The psalmist uses a beautiful term of endearment as he addresses his request to God. ~Keep me as the apple of the eye~. We do not hear this term used much these days but it is significant that King David uses it. King David had a close relationship with God that few have had. God, at one time said of him ~I have found David a man after mine own heart~. When one reads the psalms we see incredible depth of emotion as David pours out his pain, fears and love upon the God under whose wings He had learned to trust. What does being the “apple of another’s” eye indicate, especially the apple of God’s eye? It indicates favoritism, finding pleasure in another, finding joy in another and having fondness, tender-mercies and a special love for another. It means a special closeness between two. When one gets extremely close to another and looks into the pupil of the eye of another he can see his own reflection. This is how close God desires His children to be. How we often get distracted and drawn away from God! Sometimes there is a cloud between us due to sin or hardness in our heart towards our God. But this is never His intention. He desires that we have a close, intimate relationship with Him, our Creator, Savior, Lover of our souls. Let us note that David said “keep” me as the apple of the eye. David already knew he was the apple of God’s eye. Do we know that, precious reader? If we are His children we already are the apple of His eye. And for those reading this who might not know this great God I write about, perhaps He is calling you to become one of His children. I have only been the apple of one other person’s eye during my lifetime. Most of my life I have been the black sheep, the outcast, the different one. But deep in my heart, I know I am the apple of God’s eye now. And I rest in that. For the One Who matters the most in the Universe invites me to come so close….that I might see my own reflection in His loving eyes. The Christian’s great hope is to gaze into the eyes of Jesus someday in Heaven. The expectation of it sets our hearts beating faster with anticipation and joy. For on that great day, we will see our reflection in His loving-kind eyes and we will never be separated from His gaze again. Cherished, 11.01.07

Thank You, Jesus Thank You, my dearest Jesus, for being my Creator. You created me for Your glory, and You tell me ~I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee~ I have always been the object of Divine love. There has never been a time when I have not been written upon Your heart. Thank You, dear Jesus that I am always with Thee. Nothing can ever separate me from You. For ~ Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. Thank You that You know me through and through yet You still adore me and call me Your bride. Why even the hairs of my head are numbered. ~Thou hast searched me and known me~. You know the worst about me and yet You still think precious thoughts about me. Dear Lord, You are my refuge during times of fear, pain or sorrow. You remind me that ~ He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty~ Because I have set my love upon You, therefore you will deliver me: You will set me on high, because I hath known Your name. You tell me that when I call upon You, you will answer me and be with me in trouble; You will deliver me and honor me. You tell me that I am one of the people of Your pasture and the sheep of Your hand. You are the good Shepherd. ~The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul~ Because You are my Shepherd, ~ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. To think that You identify with and call Yourself, Shepherd. Shepherd’s were despised and looked down upon when You walked this earth. You identify Yourself with the despised, rejected, outcasts. I love You for that, my God! I thank You most of all, my blessed Jesus for dying on the cross for me. The love of Christ…the love of Christ for me. How can I fathom it? You endured such physical torture and agony for me. Your great heart literally broke over the agony of being separated from Your Father. You did that for Father. You did that for me. When they took the spear and thrust it into your side, there came forth blood and water indicating You died from a broken heart. Finally, I thank You for Your resurrection! You are alive and you are King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Every knee shall bow to You someday. You are the Sovereign of the universe. You have absolute authority. I safely place my life, my future, my all-in-all into your loving, nail-pierced hand, I bend my knee to my King, and I say thank you, Jesus, thank you, my Lord. I did an experiment to test for the existence of God, as a college physics major, long ago. I got definite evidence that devils exist, and some evidence that God's angels exist, (they probably pilot ufos) and that healing by the laying on of hands is real. Then Jesus appeared to me in a night vision and paraphrased something in the scriptures to me, as it applied to me. He called me by my name and said, "you must die before you enter society. Unless the seed die the tree cannot bear good fruit. All trees that do not bear fruit will be cut downd". He then put His hand on my back, smiled at me and disappeared. These words were with real power filling my whole mind and I had the feeling that He was God, and that anything He says is going to happen. I heard one word after another like normal speech, but when it was over it seemed like it happened all at the same moment; like time didn't make any sense. Before this happened I was totally humbled by demonic attack; devils telepathically putting evil thoughts in my mind that were not my thoughts. That lasted for months, until I realized that I needed God's help to even think correctly. During the time of this attack, I had another night vision. I saw in a white place with a white floor. I saw two feet wearing sandals. I looked up further and saw a white thrown with a man sitting on it. He was wearing a white long sleeved garment, (not as white as the throne) that was pleated in the middle as if held in by a belt; it came down to his ankles. I saw Jesus sitting on this throne with his arm on the arm rest and his face in his hand. He was crying. I got the impression that He was crying for me because I had endured months of demonic attack, and I was sifted like wheat at the time. [I actually saw little apparitions like colored points of light, that would appear, throw an evil thought in my mind, and then disappear. I saw thousands of these during the months of my sifting to humble me. I supposed they were devils; they talked like devils.] So I know, for sure, that Christianity is the only true religion and the words of the New Testament are God's inspired scriptures. His throne looks like smooth white stone. It has the arm rests squared off and the back squared off. It is a wide strongly built throne, with some room on either side of the person seated in it. The arm rests also looked wide. It is in a place with a white floor and a white background. You might wonder why devils would attack me so much and Jesus would appear to me. Well, aft | | |
