Lately I've started to doubt everything I know about God and the Bible. I don't know where this is coming from. I am even considering leaving my church. Is this is Satan just trying to mess with me. What should I do?

I know for me that thoughts come and go often. It gets worst when life seems to be challenging but that is the time for faith to flourish. When those thoughts come I pray and ask God to shine His light. The devil will try to steal, kill and destroy anything that is contrary to his ways. He has lost the fight and knowing that he is trying to take as many people with him as possible. You have to remain faithful in the good and the bad. The bible actually says to give thanks in the bad times and though this is hard to do it helps. God knows your struggles, He loves you and wants you to give your burdens up to Him, having faith that He will see you through. When you feel discouraged or you are doubting faith, ask God to strengthen your spirit, your heart and your mind. Ask that He place a protective hedge around you and your family and read His word. God Bless!

We walk not by sight but by faith, and if it is by grace that we beleive, we need not think we need anything but the faith God Himself has given us. Now having said that we can ask God to take us from faith to faith but I fear many of us are unwilling to do that for it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Now when it comes to doubtiing faith, you only have to look around you to see what the lack of faith in Christ can do to our communities and country. The rapes, murders, thieft, selfishness, anger, etc., etc. etc. all point to the goodnews that is in Christ and Christ alone. The one thing that convinces me that Christ is real is the world's wickness and the power of the Gospel in transforming mens lives.Though I walk through the slums of the poorest countries, I am not worried for I see the need for the Gospel, for although food, clothing, water and shelter may temporily meet their needs the Gospel and faith in Christ will transform their lives for ever and meet all their needs. You need a vision of who can be in Christ or at least want to be in Christ, for without a vision peolpe are destroyed. Once God has given you this, only you stand in your way. Be bold, a hurting world and others need you. Does God need you? He would love to have you on board if you were willing, but if not He will raise up followers out of the very stones under our feet. Now if He can do that, why then do we resist HIm? What can you do? Look at people around you suffering through their lack of faith and fall in love with Him who can save them.

What should I do? You're not the only person in the world who's dealing with this. Lots of people have doubts about what they believe when it comes to God, especially if things happen in their lives that seem unfair. Loved ones dying, financial hardships, anger issues, betrayal or a sense of betrayal by people who you love/you thought loved you, bitterness in a marriage, watching someone leave you for someone else, etc. All of these things can leave us feeling helpless, hurt, and lonely. For some reason, its easier to imagine a God who will abandon us during times of hardship than a God who will stand with us during these times. I think its because we're so used to people abandoning us during our times of need that we would expect God to do the same thing (and maybe that is Satan messing with our emotions). I know I've felt that way at times, and I'm sure others have, too. The key is to remember that God ISN'T going to leave you. And that the things that make don't make sense to you now make sense to him. No matter how badly it hurts, God has a plan and He's not going to abandon you. Even if it feels that way. I don't kow if this is why you're starting to doubt what you know about God or not. But I do know that lots of people run into their doubts about God at some point in their life. The best thing you can do is pray about it, read your Bible and ask God to help you understand things that you doing.

Doubts can be helpful in that they let us test our understanding of God. We ask questions and through the answers we get from those wiser than us we learn more about God and get closer to Him. Of course, too much doubt is dangerous as it could lead us astray from God. And that would please the devil no end. So how do we control our doubts? First of all we pray. We tell God about our doubts and ask Him to help us. Also, it would be helpful if you joined a Bible Study Group at your church. This way you can learn with/from others and share your doubts and concerns. Being with Christians will help you grow in Faith. God bless.

What should I do? Perhaps, you should question what exactly it is you believe. You might have been putting your faith in something that is not true. What is your understanding of the Gospel? By starting there, you can begin to discover what it is that is wrong in your beliefs. Grace and Peace
